Reviews for New Era Cleaners & Laundry

Ratings_icons Pretty good

Susie B.

I was hesitant to go here after reading some of the reviews, but I decided to give it a chance because I pass by it everyday to work. I was pleasantly surprised. They get their work done on time and their prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of work that they do. They pay a lot of attention to detail. The workers aren't overly friendly, but I wouldn't say they are rude. I honestly don't care how nice they are, as long as they treat my clothes well, and New Era definitely delivers on that.

Ratings_icons Expensive

New Era cleaners are too expensive. Does not have good customer service and twice I brought clothes to them and buttons were missing, and stains were on my jacket. I do not go their anymore.

Ratings_icons Best Drycleaners I have ever been to!

Joseph B.

As a traveling businessman, I have very particular needs and have been to quite a few drycleaners. New Era is the only one that I have been satisfied with. They were the first dry cleaners in the area to switch to the computerized dry cleaning service more than a decade ago. Their drive for innovation in dry cleaning technology and services has always surprised me. They always pay attention to details, such as buttoning both the first and the third buttons on dress shirts (which are only $1 to launder) in order to prevent your shirts from spreading and wrinkling. They take off the dry cleaning tags, which most cleaners forget about. It seems small, but it's a little detail that saves you a couple seconds in the morning when you're busy. Finally, ask about their VIP card. Everytime you come in for dry cleaning, they log it on your VIP card, and they give you free dry cleaning periodically. Overall, New Era is a grade A business!

PROS: Quality and price
CONS: None!

Very convenient and great prices. I've been going here for over 10 years, and they provide reliable service every time. I would definitely recommend.

Ratings_icons Clean clothes, but get rid of the attitude...

Teresa P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,937

This cleaner barely makes the average with their attitude, but they are competent and timely. Alteration prices are probably as good as they get ($7-9), but perhaps they're best known for the cost of laundering shirts ($1). Pricewise, you can't get any better than this this close to Old Town (corner of Los Robles and Orange Grove), but attitude-wise, this is not the place.

PROS: Good prices for alterations and shirt laundry.
CONS: Bad attitude.
