I leased a 2013 brand new Honda CR-V from Tipton Honda, and I had a great experience with Jiff and Joe, great guys to deal with, I was treated with respect and kindness. I was in and out in no time, even that they were busy with other customers. They gave me the deal that I wanted, and that I was very happy with it. They explained everything to me, about the car as far as operational matters. I came in yesterday, having had an AWFUL experience with two other dealerships. From the outset (because of the other dealers) I was on edge. My experience here couldn't have been more different. Steve and Daniel Cole were amazing, and we ended up talking about three different cars. They were very patient with me, and we worked through many sets of numbers. I got a fair price for my trade (a VERY old Accord.) We looked at several options, and in the end I walked out the door with the exact car I wanted at a price I was more than comfortable with.

I bought a new Civic in 1973 and a new 2006 CRV in 2005. For the CRV, I dealt with "EZ" the Internet guy (since then retired) and got a good price with absolutely no haste and game playing. I have had the CRV serviced there, only, and had absolutely great experiences! One major service they cleaned the entire engine compartment: looked like new! Almost every time they rinse off the exterior. Last week a headlight went out and they replaced both just for the cost of the bulb and the broken carrier (e.g no labor charge).

All I can say is that EVERY TIME I have bought a car there, I was treated like royalty, I was given a screaming deal, I was walked through the process every step of the way and the entire team made me feel like I was the only customer there. The next time I dropped by Tipton, to get an alarm installed on my new (AWESOME) 2013 Civic Coupe, sold to me by Paul, Barry came in and with his usual, positive and confident English manner, congratulated me on my new car and we talked a bit. Best car buying experience ever. If you are ready to buy a Honda then go see Johnny Hicks. He's real, down to earth, and friendly. I was able to buy the car I wanted at the price I wanted and be out of the dealership in less than two hours. The nice thing about Johnny was that he was consistent in making follow up phone calls with me but in a cordial and polite way. He wasn't manipulative or pushy as we have all experienced in the past with salesman in general.

I am totally STOKED with Tipton Honda. I went in there yesterday because for a couple years my right headlight on my '97 Del Sol was loose for some reason. I'd taken it to several body shops in the last couple years and guys would look at it and go "Geez, I don't know, can't really give you an estimate till we look at the thing apart...you could leave it here and...blah blah.." I went to Cush Honda (which I also like) and their excellent parts guy Vince recommended I try AutoWerks in Santee. Thank god a guy there (who couldn't give me a good estimate)suggested I try Tipton Honda!

I was helped to the financing department, where Truman, with a big ol' smile on his face, greeted me and helped me through all the paperwork, all the while explaining to me every piece of paper I was signing. Truman was capable, friendly, courteous and very diligent, making sure I was comfortable and happy with this rather large investment, answering all my questions (and there were quite a few) quickly, truthfully and knowledgably, giving me a sense that they really did care about me and my comfort, over all.

He didn't argue with me when I told him what I wanted (although he was genuinely surprised when I told him I wanted a stick), he didn't try to upsell me and he didn't blow a bunch of smoke during the deal. Just plain ol' down-home service. He knew his business, he knew how to make the deal work for me, within my (scant) budget and he never tried to jerk me around. We found the car I wanted at another dealership, so he went there personally, after working out a dealer trade and picked it up for me.

They are a low overhead operation, but you would never sense that from either the front or back of the house. I understand Mr. Tipton still drops by the dealership now and then. I recommend Tipton Honda for new vehicle sales and service, without any reservations.

I got a call from Tipton Honda, asking if I would like to sell back my 2008 Civic LX. I really liked my Civic, so I was not really into selling it, but I figured I'd check out the deal he was offering. I'd bought 3 Civics over the last 15 years, from Tipton, so I knew the drill when I went in. I knew what I wanted, I knew the model, type, color, options and had done some serious research finding my next Cvic. After all, if I'm gonna give up a car I really like, I should get exactly the car I want, for the trouble which exactly happen and I got the car of my choice.

We bought a used Honda Odyssey from them and I was extremely pleased with our sales person, Tia. She offered me service that was incredible. I couldn't make up my mind about what I wanted and we test drove quite a few vehicles over a few days time. She always kept in touch w/o pressure. Tipton Honda in El Cajon has been serving my family and I for years. We have bought and leased 5 cars from them over the years and were always pleased with their vehicles and their service. We got two cars this weekend (Honda Accord & Honda Civic) and we were delighted to be assisted by the helpful and kind salesman, Mr. Matt who was very patient and cooperative with our request. He managed to give us a good deal on our cars and did his best to insure we were taken care of and got what we wanted. I recommend you ask for Matt when you go in looking for a car. Overall the experience was pretty good and Honda makes remarkable cars with high quality and top of the line service. We are very pleased with their cars and outstanding customer service. I bought a new accord crosstour here last week and I just wanted to say that I had the best car buying experience and I don't understand why this dealership doesn't have more stars! My salesman was honest, helpful and made the experience as quick and painless as possible; he patiently helped me program my navigation system and my cell phone blue tooth and also introduced me to the service department where I receive my first oil change completely free of charge!

Twenty years ago, we had a very bad experience with Tipton and I told my husband I did not want to go to Tipton this time. My husband had stopped by Tipton on Monday, Sept 30, met Israel and convinced me to give them a chance. So glad I did. We ended up trading in our older gas guzzler for a 2014 Honda Accord Lx. I had done a lot of homework on this purchase so I knew the numbers really well and also what other Honda dealers in San Diego and near areas were asking for this car and also what a fair trade in would be on our vehicle. Israel lived up to all promises and we agreed on a very fair price on our trade in. I will definitely go back to Tipton for our next car. Of course that may be awhile because the Honda Accord we bought in 1994 is still running like a charm for my daughter and I really expect no less from our new 2014.

I liked the sales staff here. They were personable, informative, and most of all they were willing to work on pricing for me and were able to help get this into my budget. They made it a smooth easy transaction, I don't think there is anything else they could have done to make it a better experience. The car was looked over upon delivery and they came across a couple minor issues that were addressed and I had a issue recently and I brought it in and the service people were absolutely great. Awesome experience, and highly recommended!

Frist and foremost...all the 5 star ratings on this site are fakes. Consider yourself warned by the customers of Tipton with real stories and real experiences.

AVOID THIS SERVICE CENTER AT ALL COSTS!!!

If you to hear more keep reading...otherwise let me sum it up like this. They have given me free oil change service coupons and I throw them away. I would pay for a Wal-Mart oil change before I took a free oil change from these people.

I purchased a used 2004 Honda Accord from Tipton in 2008. Buying the car was fine...no issues there except the vehicle had a cracked windshield.

Tipton paid All Star Glass to replace the windshield. All star glass left the rubber around the windshield sticking up and I had to call Tipton to have them get All Star Glass to come back out and fix it a 2nd time.

When we purchased the car the floorboards were wet and we were told it was because they just shampooed the carpets. The carpets kept getting wet every week and I pulled up the carpet to find a lake under it. I gave the car to Tipton and they couldn't find any issue. Got the car back and a month later there was another lake under the floorboards. Gave the car back to Tipton and they found the issue to be a manufacturing flaw in the firewall where a weld was not completed. They fixed the issue and gave me my car back. When I got the car back all the interior panels that were taken off by Tipton to find the issue were damaged. Car went back to Tipton to have all the panels replaces at their expense.

Transmission replacement...The car began having issues with the transmission and I had an extended warranty on the car. I know my car and I know when there is an issue. I dropped the car off at Tipton for diagnostics. I was told that because there was no CEL code being thrown that they cannot determine the issue. So you are telling me that the extent of a "factory trained" technicians ability is to look for the code and if it isn't there they are completely helpless. Whats funny is that the car was trying to downshift to 1st gear at 70mph. Very dangerous stuff. What Tipton did find was that all three motor mounts were damaged and promptly offered to fix them for $1000. I asked for the labor and parts breakdown. I ordered the parts and replaced them myself in half the time they had quoted me in labor hours. "Billable time" is standard in the repair industry and I'm not gonna pay for hours the manufacturer assumes a repair will take. Funny part is...the motor mounts were only torn because the transmission was jarring the whole car when it tried to downshift weird. How do I know? The mounts were freshly torn...not rubbed smooth from long periods of time being torn...but that's beside the point. I took the car back after replacing the mounts at which point Tipton told me again they couldn't find anything wrong. So I drove back out there to demonstrate the issue for them...at which point the lot attendant who was warming the car up for us...never came back and called the service writer to inform him the car was broken. I was then informed that i could go back home and await a call that the car was done. I waited a week for the repair...and got the car back. Something wasn't right there were loud clunking noises under the car and the power steering system making a ton of noise. Neither were happening when I dropped the car off initially. I dropped the car back off to Tipton and they found that the tech hadn't tightened 2 bolts in the sub frame and the sub frame was shifting also he didn't properly handle the power steering system when he replaced the trans and there were air bubbles in the lines. I was told by the service writer that it was "one of those end of the day things...you understand" NO...im sorry I don't understand. Tipton paid for a rental for a day while the car was fixed a 2nd time. I got the car back again and as soon as I got home the clunking noise was still there. At this point I went ballistic because the tech had forgotten more bolts than just the 2. I dropped the car off again...got a rental again (Tipton covered it) and found that this time the tech had forgotten the bolt in the rear engine mount. I was told that the car would have a full tank of gas when i got it back...because it was the least they could do for me. When i got the car back it had less fuel than when I dropped it off. Less than 1/4 tank.

I will never use them again and my campaign to get the word out about these clowns has now begun.

They are completely incompetent.

Frist and foremost...all the 5 star ratings on this site are fakes. Consider yourself warned by the customers of Tipton with real stories and real experiences.

AVOID THIS SERVICE CENTER AT ALL COSTS!!!

If you to hear more keep reading...otherwise let me sum it up like this. They have given me free oil change service coupons and I throw them away. I would pay for a Wal-Mart oil change before I took a free oil change from these people.

I purchased a used 2004 Honda Accord from Tipton in 2008. Buying the car was fine...no issues there except the vehicle had a cracked windshield.

Tipton paid All Star Glass to replace the windshield. All star glass left the rubber around the windshield sticking up and I had to call Tipton to have them get All Star Glass to come back out and fix it a 2nd time.

When we purchased the car the floorboards were wet and we were told it was because they just shampooed the carpets. The carpets kept getting wet every week and I pulled up the carpet to find a lake under it. I gave the car to Tipton and they couldn't find any issue. Got the car back and a month later there was another lake under the floorboards. Gave the car back to Tipton and they found the issue to be a manufacturing flaw in the firewall where a weld was not completed. They fixed the issue and gave me my car back. When I got the car back all the interior panels that were taken off by Tipton to find the issue were damaged. Car went back to Tipton to have all the panels replaces at their expense.

Transmission replacement...The car began having issues with the transmission and I had an extended warranty on the car. I know my car and I know when there is an issue. I called them to get pricing about a 25K inspection (inspection of brakes, fluids, change filters, etc...) and was told $110. Of course, I checked other areas and the price seemed about right. Anyway, I took the car in, however, the actually cost for inspection, changing fluids & filters ended up being $410. Make sure you get them bottom line number from them when you do comparison shopping. Although, the service was fine, I won't be returning there because of their rates.

I was looking for a new car because mine had broken down. I contacted the internet department at Tipton Honda and spoke James emailed me and we spoke over the phone. The other dealers I had emailed had no REAL person to speak with to answer my questions. James answered them all. I went to the Dealership the next day and he helped me get a CR-V. I was in and out in no time and a guy named Joe and Corey made the experience even better! Great staff! Keep it up! My daughter will be in next week to get her Civic from Tipton, and James in the internet.

I bought a used Civic from Tipton last weekend. They had a lot of Civics on the lot, and the one I got was certified, so it had a warranty included, which was nice. One of the other dealers wanted to charge me $2,500! for a warranty that I got included at tipton. OVerall they were really nice and I will look there the next time I buy a car.

I have taken my Civic to another Honda dealer for the last few years. I tried Tipton after I had yet another loose oil plug leak on my driveway. They were very friendly, and a little less expensive. They gave me a free car wash, too. For me, Tipton was worth the extra drive!

I shopped at 2 other dealerships (Pacific, Mission Valley) and they gave me the run-around when it came down to getting lease figures to take to my wife. Tipton Honda was up-front and treated me well. In addition, I ended up with a lease that was LESS than the national advertised lease! Highly recommended and friendly!

We took our Accord in for an inspection service and oil change. Even though our inspection sheet listed that everything was fine with the car, we had two high-beam headlight bulbs that were burned out. We weren't given a reason as to why the technician didn't catch the two burned out bulbs during the inspection. What else did they miss?

One day after having the inspection, our radiator suddenly started spewing coolant. We took the car BACK to Tipton and was told we had a crack in the radiator. Very odd that this happened immediately after service.

I have absolutely no trust in their service department and would not recommend them at all.

Brought in my 2003 hybrid For recall fix of shutter and shake when moving from stopped position. Manager said it's a 2 day fix so i left the car. 2 hours later i get call that it was done. Picked the car up , but it still has a slight shutter and shake. Called manager and they said they only had to burnish a sleeve in transmission, not do the entire repair. Well now the problem is worse, but i won't take it back to tipton.

I purchased it anyways bc it was an older model and they had the color I wanted, but the sales rep was pretty arrogant.

Service and body work is great though - the service people are very nice and work with you to get your car taken care of. I recently had the battery die on me so they are replacing it for free bc it is less than 2 yrs old.

I really wanted to buy a Honda because of their reliability. Finally I checked out TiptonHonda and I found a good deal. The sales people aren't pushy at all and let you look around without preying on you too much. After I got the Honda, there was a slight problem with it. They told me to take it right in and they repaired it for no charge because it was still covered under the warranty. They seem very knowledgeable and know what they're doing. If I ever need another Honda or have any problems with the one I have, I will definitely go back.
