Tropix Caribbean Restaurant

Carribean food--how unique. This place is great--great food, scrumptous in a great location on Piedmont Avenue. A great place to come with friends in a large party.

I love Tropix with all my heart. It's such a comfortable place to eat, and the food is quite good. I love the complimentary jalapeno cornbread and the mango chutney they provide. The Bul is also delicious, and I once almost drank the whole pitcher myself.

On the other hand, Tropix tends to get crowded. The prices are anything but low (over $10 for Gumbo, albeit a huge bowl of it), and the service is hit-or-miss. They are always friendly, but sometimes they forget a request, most likely because it's so busy. Finally, finding parking isn't very fun.

I recommend coming here with a group of friends or family, requesting a seat out on the heated patio, and ordering a pitcher of Bul. The appetizer sampler is also great for sharing. It's the perfect thing on a not-too-cold night.

This is a fantastic Carribean restaraunt, but beware, you will be craving it again and again. Food is not too spicy, but has a bit of a kcik to it. Plenty of room to accomodate, including a patio for warmer weather. Great atmosphere, and even better food.

This is a good place to have diner, they have a nice place, not big not small. The enviroment is nice and the food is great. What i liked the most was the banana chips and the ceviche. I strongly recomend this place. Just go with time, because is always full.
