I was a patient of Community Medical Group and had Dr. Richard Shaw as my doctor and he is great. He moved and helped form Regal Medical Group a couple years ago along with the finest doctors and nurses of the staff there too. They treat me with respect and kindness and I never have to wait more than 5 minutes to be called back to a room. Anyway, so today I went in for a Physical at RMG for a CNA program I just enrolled in and it turned out some of my shot records and other records hadn't been transferred. So I called and callled and called CMG and no answer. I went to the office and it was non existant. CMG/Lakeside does not exist in Simi Valley anymore. After many calls made, I was informed that Regal Bought out that whole company and my records were in storage still because of CMGs neglect for care. I am very unhappy I am so glad that they are gone. Very few people liked going there and most moved to Regal or another Med center. Hopefully a new practice will form that has better Medical Personnel and staff.

everyone needs to leave cmg/lakeside and join Regal Medical Group. they are much nicer, organized, helpful. They listen and care for the patient. Most of the doctors that left cmg have joined regal medical group in simi valley, the doctors are more relaxed not stressed or worried. THEY HAVE TWO GREAT OFFICE AND much organized then cmg is. i would recommend RMG to anyone especially if you leave cmg. RMG cares for there patients and spend time with them also. Am so glad i left cmg and joined rmg. the best choice for health care i have made!!! and they answer the phone when you call and any questions you have!

Me and my 2 kids have been going to CMG for qbout 10 yrs. The only reason we always go back is Dr. Cat. Any time we need an urgent appt. and have to see another doctor it is not a good experience. Dr. Cat is excellent, personable, caring, just really the kind of doctor we all want. She gives you the time you need. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to get an appt. with her. I WONDER WHY? To add an insult to the injury (of the fact that the other doctors are no good - we dread to be seen by any of them), try calling the office! If you do, be sure to have 1) a lot of patience and 2) a lot of time. It is common to be on hold for 15 - 25 (!) minutes! When you finally get your 'turn' they can't get you off the phone fast enough. Plus you get put on hold a few times. Yes, we all have time to waste... not! One other thing I dislike is that after any tests (blood or any other ones) no one calls you. And if you call - again, you need to have a lot of time and patience to do so - the only answer you get is "it's normal". I REALLY want to know more that that! Anyway, in person the office personnel is nice and helpful. In other words: I have very mixed feelings about CMG.: Love Cat, hate everything else. I really wish that Cat would move on to a better office. I may have to suggest it the next time I get in to see her. That reminds me - I better call soon to make my November appt with her!!!!

First you have to be able to get someone on the phone! I have called multiple times and it goes into voicemail, eventually I get a live person. The few times I have gone to the Simi Valley location I was fortunate enough to get 2 great female doctors, who by the way, are no longer there. The reception staff are rude and ignore you. I picked this location due to my insurance and proximity to my home. In the last year they have moved and I have gotten a couple of letters notifying me that my "primary" doctor has left the location and a new doctor has been chosen to be my primary doctor. After the latest letter I received this week, I am now changing my primary doctor and location. Care, service and consistency matter to me when I come in to see a health professional and I am by far disappointed.

I have been going to CMG for quite some time. They have several offices I originally went to the Woodland Hills office which was adiquate for a GP office. When I moved from Woodland Hills to Simi Valley I expected the same level of care. Beyond the point that the front office is brutally rude the doctors are subpar. I have seen Dr. Brusky several times and have never had a postitive expierence. The last time I saw him I had a sinus infection and he actually said to my face that I wasn't sick! Upon seeing another doctor (at a different practice) they couldn't believe I had not been perscribed antibiotics. I have also seen Catherine Phillips with CMG who has a sighltly better bedside manner but unfortunatly can't figure out the dosage to perscribe on perscriptions. I'm pregnant and again had a really bad sinus infection. She perscribed a z-pack that didn't work she then percribed two other antibiotics and after 20 days of antibiotics I still wasnt' getting well. I decided something was wrong so I went to an ENT. He looked over what had been perscribed and said I had been given the wrong dosage. This is why I wasn't getting well! He told me the antibiotic I had should be taken 4x a day and not 2x! It's been two days since I saw the ENT and for the first time in over a month I finally feel like I'm not a walking zombie! Please save yourself the money and heartache and don't go to CMG. PS. they have now changed their name to Lakeside Medical Associates so don't let them fool you!

I took my wife to CMG in Simi Valley to examine her for a knee injury. We are new in Simi and picked CMG only because the came up at the top of the list of providers from our insurance...so we went without any prior recommendation (I wish I had read some of these reviews first!). We were seen by Dr. Brusky. Having gone to numerous doctors in my life and having relatives who are practicing MDs, I found Dr. Brusky to be very sub-standard in terms of demeanor and in his insensitive methods of examination. Having been told by my wife that she is experiencing knee pain, Dr. Brusky, without any verbal communication or discussion, performed a very painful and unnecessarily "rough" examination of her knee. Rather than being gentle and communicating that this may hurt, or tell me when it starts to hurt, and moving in a careful manner to ascertain the extent of the injury, he was quick and rough and seemed to have no concern or compassion for the patient. Additionally, my wife provided a form to Dr. Brusky from her employer with a simple one page recommendation on what activities she can/cannot perform and whether she should not work for some period of time. Dr. Brusky's summary response was simply that he didn't have time to look through all this...he was just completely un-interested and made us feel like we were intruding on his time in some way. Please understand I hold no personal ill towards Dr. Brusky. My desire to to present an objective assessment of the medical service he provided on that day. I would strongly recommend to CMG and to his superiors that they begin obtain patient reviews and actually use them to improve the level of service. For CMG, we immediately started asking around for recommendations on other clinics since we will not return to CMG because of this very bad first impression. I'm sure Dr. Brusky is not representative of all the doctors there but we just don't want to risk another repeat experience like the one we had.

I found Dr. Campeau to be the rudest doctor with the biggest god complex I've ever run into. He doesn't believe that a patient should have any opinion about his or her own medical treatment. He even compared my wanting to have a say in my own medical care to Michael Jackson's death. He told me many times that he was younger than he looked, and that because of his "youth" he was more qualified and was privvy to all the latest and greatest information. He kept trying to convince me of his superiority, and I kept trying to get out the door. I kept telling him that I could see we would not be a "good fit" as doctor and patient, but he kept talking. I'm surprised this guy has any patients at all.

Frustrating, irritating, disappointing and scary! Dr. Keith Campeau was impatient and did not want to listen to anything. I felt intimidated, and rushed like cattle being driven in and out of a corral. In fact, I've been put on hold for the 4th time AS I TYPE THIS REVIEW!! I will be following my prevous doctor who had been with CMG in the past, a doctor who makes sure patients feel confident and secure. I think office staff at CMG does as well as they can, but I too agree they are overworked and under appreciated by the current physicians resulting in higher stress levels with their frustrations spilling over to customers in the form of impatience, and apathetic attitudes. I have not been made to feel welcome in their offices during my past visits. I know I have a choice in my care, hence, I will return my medical care to my previous, more professional physician. When I expressed my frustration with his rudeness, Dr. Campeau dismissed my concern and told me to find another doctor! Imagine that!

This office has been consistently infuriating.

Office staff is disorganized, overworked, rude, and dismissive. The telephone rings and rings when I call. Most of the time I am put through to an "Operator" voicemail. However, after leaving several messages, no one ever returns the call. It is impossible to make an appointment unless it's in 2 weeks-4 months, depending on what the appointment is for. They say if you call first thing you can get a same-day appointment. I have tried this many times, but after being on hold for 18 minutes (the longest), you get the "Operator" voicemail again and must call back repeatedly.

The nurses are also overworked and rushed.

The doctors in this office are horrid. Dr. Brusky is dismissive and rude. He refused to prescribe a muscle relaxer for my excruciating back spasms because he had treated my husband for crushed discs in his spine and didn't believe I also had back problems. Dr. Hom is the Ice Queen. She is extremely rushed and overly clinical, spending mere minutes before writing a script and leaving the room. Dr. Phillips (Cat) is very nice and thorough. However, she doesn't know what she's talking about and jumps to odd conclusions. She diagnosed a rash due to a reaction to a new medication as a "nonspecific bacterial infection" and had me apply topical antibiotics for weeks before I could convince her it might be something else. She also prescribed epileptic medication and Aleve for my severe back pain due to a herniated disc. What?

Ugh. I despise going there and will switch as soon as my insurance changes are in effect.

Dr. Keith Campeau is probably the rudest doctor i've ever met in my life. The first thing he says to me is that he's not prescribing me pain pills before a hello or even before i tell him whats wrong. I was there because i wanted antibiotics for a pretty severe gum infection and he basically looked in my mouth, seemed really grossed out then told me he can't help me and i should see a dentist. The nurse was really nice though.

Community Medical Group has one of the Best Doctors Around!! Husband with diagnosed cancer and diabetes, two teenage daughters, 11 year old daughter and myself find relief and respect for Dr. Downs. My older daughters have grown up with him and he took the time to discuss college experiences and athletic departments and all of the social issues involved. They feel very comfortable in talking with him about anything. My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer early because Dr. Downs gave him a referal at the first sign of trouble. His blood sugar has been monitored very closely and was given every bit of information requested. My 11 year old loves to go to the doctor because of Dr. Downs. He can relate to all of us, at any level. He can discuss in medical terms and break it down into laymen's terms depending on who he is talking to. I also feel comfortable in discussing OB problems as well as knee surgery options.
Kudus to CMG and Dr. Downs!!

Dr. Ingrid Antall was one of BEST doctors at Community Medical Group (Simi Valley). In my experience she was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to get to know her patients. There was another good doctor, I forgot the young Doctor??s name, but she was probably of Indian or Pakistani or Sri Lankan heritage.

The OFFICE PERSONNEL and OTHER doctors have little pride in themselves, their profession/job, and have low customer service skills. There is a CULTURE OF LOW STANDARDS among the majority of CMG office staff & doctors.

The worst experience in my life was with Dr. Downs at CMG. A few years back I went in to speak to him about twitching on my left side of my face, numbness in my tongue, and headaches ?? he said it was TMJ (associated the prob. w/teeth grinding). A day after seeing Dr. Downs, I had fainted after having a Grand Mal Seizure in a water filled bathtub. Had my husband not been home that morning I know I would have drowned. The next day I had two other Grand Mal Seizures within a 4 hour period. I was in my late twenties, in good health, and never had seizures before. I feel that any competent doctor would have associated the numbness, twitching to a neurological issue and would have referred me to a specialist.

It's been three years since my ordeal and I am very lucky to still be alive to write this review. Some doctors feel they have all the answers and/or have too much ego to consult with other doctors when they are unsure of a patient??s medical problem. When you go to ANY doctor, especially CMG, remember to be your own advocate, ask questions, and even demand referrals if your gut tells you that you are not being cared for properly. I am not an attorney but I feel that a class action lawsuit would seem reasonable.

Dr. Lee and Dr. Antall are now with Regal Medical Group so our family is leaving. I won't go to them after calling to get my girls shots and them saying, "Well we would make you an appointment but we don't know who is going to be here and who is leaving. Call back next week." I called my insurance and switched to Regal then and there,
Not going to miss Community at all.

Cat is my favorite, but I have had a good experience with every one that I have seen. On the down side, my physical was postponed from December 10th to the 22nd, to February 6th, to April 20th, and now rescheduled to a different doctor on April 17th. Two of those days are Mondays and I was just told that they don't do physicals on Mondays and I would have to wait until June to see Cat. (so why did they make those appointments?)I also had to make a separate appointment in March to see Cat so that she could continue to approve my prescriptions because she hadn't seen me in two years and my physicals kept being postponed. Of course, that appointment got postponed by a few days too.Steve's Community Med Group back-office scorecard looks like this: Appointments made for what should have been one visit - 7.Appointments cancelled by CMG - 5.Unnecessary extra appointments kept - 1.Appointments still open - 1.Physical exams received - 0.In summary, the medical professionals are great. I'll give them 5 stars. The scheduling process, not so much. I'll give them a -5.If anyone cares to address the problem, Cat knows who I am, and can direct you to my file so that you can look into the cause. I'm pretty sure that she is at least as irritated as I am about this.If Cat or any of the doctors that I know were to jump ship, I'd walk five miles uphill barefoot in the snow to follow them to their new practice.

My daughter was diagnosed with a cold, ear infection, and sinus infection several time over a year. My 2 year old daughter was having extremely bad breath and a consistent running nose. We had tried every nose spray and antibiotic under the sun with no success. I knew something else was wrong, Mother's Instincts! So I insisted on a xray, which showed a mass but the docs still claimed it was a sinus infection. I then insisted on an ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist), one visit with him and he found a piece of cotton that had been lodged into her nose. I was so happy and she has been perfect every since the cotton was removed.

She is great! She always makes me feel really comfortable even when it's those yearly not so fun appointments. She is very relatable. I would recommend her to anyone!

This office seems very unorganized. When I first saw them it was for an ear infection for my 2 year old. I saw Dr Modave. He just gave him some allergy medicine and said he didn't need any further care. The next day his ear drum burst and he had to be on antibiotics and ear drops. This happened again with the same doctor on a different occasion. His answer was always allergy medication. He is a terrible doctor who does not listen to you as a parent. I know my children and I know when they are in pain. I finally switched to another doctor at this office who is much better and more attentive. In subsequent dealings with the staff I have noticed that they don't seem to talk to each other. You can talk to one person and call back and have to start all over again like there are no notations made or anything reguarding your previous call. It is very difficult to get anything done, especially a referral. If I could go somewhere else I would. But I have an HMO and this my only option.

I have been seeing Catherine Phillips for years and think she is great, bottom line if you don't want the truth don't go. I agree that doctor tend to go to the drugs to quick but she does seem to care and I feel better after I go.

I had a great Dr. there when I started going to CMGSV, Dr. Michael Brooks. He was patient, thoughtful and caring. You had to wait for him, but he was worth it. But as things progressed my appts with him would be switched to other Dr.s without them telling me - then I have to re-explain everything. I had need of a small mole to be removed. It was scheduled on the appt book, when I got there after waiting 4 months for this appt they tried to tell me that I didn't make an appt, that the Dr. didn't write it down. That it wasn't scheduled and that he wouldn't do it. I asked for the Mgr. and started making a big stink - I had to get out of work just to see him and now they weren't going to do it? When my voice was raised Dr. Michaels poked his head in to see what the matter was and then said of course he would do it, much to the dismay of the medical group manager. He did it and well and stayed overtime to do it. But soon after I was told he resigned. So I had to pick a new Dr. And start all over again. Grrrr! So I got Dr. Downs who at first seemed decent, but very by the book - if your symptoms didn't fit into his "box", then you weren't sick. And he prescribed anitbiotics like candy. I had 8 bouts of Sinusitus in 1 year and all they could tell me was that it was allergies, (and that had never happened to me before) meanwhile all the antibiotics had knocked out my immune system - I was getting sick over the smallest things. But since it didn't fit into his box - I wasn't sick. I eventually came to an emergency appt with Sinusitus again and got a different Dr - an older stern man - forgot his name - begged for help because 8 bouts of Sinusitus + being constantly dizzy and nauseated just wasn't sick enough. He quickly sent me a refferal (4 working days) to an ear nose and throat specialist who has several cases of pending litagation on him and the worst bedside manner of any Dr. I have ever met in my life. Steer clear of Dr. Seltzer - get another Ear Nose and Throat guy Immediately! He is a bull In a china closet! This guy will strap you down into a chair ask no questions, start spraying substances into you nose and stuffing tools up there without knowing what you are allergic to or asking you what the problem is. You feel like an object not a patient. Horrible experience - walked out - never signed arbitration.
After a year and a half of lousy service with them, not getting better and watching the best Doctors leave I decided to do the same.

I finally found a great ear Nose and Throat Dr. Jeff Fienfeld. But I had to change medical groups to do it. i switched to Northridge Medcal Group. I got way better service - people caring actually wanting to help me and not there for just a paycheck. I got better, but I also saw a Chinese Medical Dr. on my own dime and that helped tremendously. I don't think Western medicine has all the anwers and you need a caring competent Dr. to share with you the ones that they do have and are sanctioned by insurance to give.

I switched from northridge medical group to Healthcare partners. Their Dr's and staff really care and strive to give you the best service they can - they are the ONLY Medical group I know of that actually posts what their proceedures cost online
http://www.healthcarepartners.com/brochures/BasicFees_Web.pdf.

They also have a welcome packet and a person who welcomes you in and tells you the services they have and shows you how to navigate through their Medical Group. They care and try to help you at every turn. Community medical group could care less about you - all they want is a paycheck - take a look at how long their Doctors stay with them and that ought to tell you what Doctors think of them.

One of My Doctors now who shall go unnamed said it is a wonder they are not shut down due to litigation over there - they screw so many people over, improper diagnoses but several different doctors over long periods of time - frustrating the patient and making them worse.

STEER CLEAR OF COMMUNITY MEDICAL GROUP!

And Good Luck!

I don't know what happened to the other reviewer...but I think Community Medical Group of Simi Valley has been excellent. I have seen Catherine Phillips on two different occasions and she impressed me with her thoroughness by following up and asking many additional questions! She did not rush through the physical at all.

I chose the community medical group based on the new insurance plan implemented through my job. My first visit was with Dr. Phillips and she was less than impressive. She continually interrupted me as I was trying to explain my symptoms and did not hear what I had to say. She was in the room for about 2 minutes and simply prescribed some various allergy medication and was then on her way. I cannot judge any other doctors in this group but my first visit left a real bad taste in my mouth. I will try a different doctor before leaving this medical group in search of another that actually has some concern for their patients.

PROS: Same day appointment, fairly short wait.
CONS: Doctor is there for a paycheck, not too help those in need.
