Very good service waiter was very friendly. We were out shopping and decided to try something new. Hubby wanted to check in on baseball scores so it was a welcome stop from the heat. Waiter came to table quickly and explained menu choices. He followed up and kept checking on us and made suggestions. Food was very
good.

The only dessert I like to eat is creme brulee, this place makes it the best in my opinion. Dropped in just for dessert a while ago just before a movie. I have not had their dinner though, but if in Brea again, would stop in for that creme brulee again, definitely.

Many business people come here and hang out after work or just to relax with some beer. It has a nice atmosphere, dimmed lights, and attentive waiters.

This is a really fun place! We love to sit at the bar and just order beer and appetizers. The beer is excellent and the appetizers are yummy. Happy Hour prices aren't bad.

This is my 3rd time going to Taps and for the most part, has always been an enjoyable experience. The ambiance is nice. It's not too loud where you have to scream or too quiet where you feel as if you have to whisper every word. Our server (Travis) was very pleasant and professional. He greeted us right away and made sure our drinks were always full and visited our table often. We ordered the appetizer sampler ($27) which included calamari, crab & artichoke dip and new orleans style bbq shrimp. The bbq shrimp was rich in flavor, the dip was very creamy with tons of crab meat and the calamari had a nice batter, crispy and not too chewy. For our entree, we ordered the fish & chips and a bowl of gumbo. For not being a cajun style restaurant, the gumbo is pretty good. Not authentic, but close enough to remind me of home having lived in New Orleans for 19 years. Today, however, it was a little burnt (probably from sitting on the stove a little too long), but I would still recommend. Taps also boasts their impressive oyster bar, offering oysters from different regions (but with a hefty price tag).

The only negative is the price. In my opinion, it's a little pricey for the type of restaurant and food served. But overall a nice place to eat. Enjoy

The meal is definitely the highlight. The service reminds me of Claim Jumper with no real depth plus they put girls in ties for uniform. It's obviously well established and I can't really think of anything wrong with the place. I recommend it for just about every occasion. It has a great bar and patio but be careful they promote cigar smoking...blech! All in all a great institution for OC.

Was on the patio for New Year's Eve. The pre fixe menu was wonderful. The best Oyster's Rockafeller I have had in a very long time. My salad was fantastic. My date's portions were a bit small, but quite delicious. I love the atmosphere of the outdoor patio with the roaring fireplace. I have been there another time for just the beers and fire with friends. Definitely worth getting a table outside and enjoy the brew...it is truly yummy!

I happened to be in Brea today (Friday, December 21, 2007). As I was ready to leave, I saw this restaurant and, since I live over an hour away, decided to stop and just have a snack.Their Happy Hour is from 2:00-6:00 M-F. All Appetizers are $5.00. I had a glass of house red wine for $4.25 and a rib appetizer. Couldn't believe it! For $5 I got 6 St. Louis style pork ribs on a bed of coleslaw. Not including tip, this whole thing came to $9.92. I was stuffed. It was right before Christmas and a little chilly. There was a fireplace and the holiday decor was beautiful. I'll be back!

TAPS is a great place to go and just hang out with your friends. The atmosphere is just right for getting together, sit around, and chat about what's going with your life. The beers are fantastic, a little bit pricey, but very well worth it.

I loved Taps, the first day I went to eat there. They have the best food I have ever eaten. I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was quiet, with dim lighting, yet, there was a relaxed feeling to it as well. It did not feel like we couldn't talk. It was very comfortable. Being on the pricey side, it was nice to go with someone, split and entre, and then get a separate soup or salad. If your partner eats more than you, then it may leave them a bit hungry. I can't tell you what is my favorite, because everything that I have eaten there thus far, is quiet tasty. I also have had an opportunity to go to the buffet. 3 free beers...and all you can eat. AMAZING!

The best thing to do when you go with a friend or date, order 1 main entre and 2 side dishes. It's a great way to save money and still experience the wonderful food at Taps. The Cesar salad is delicious. They have a shrimp pasta dish that is to die for. Thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Again, it is a little pricey, but you are paying for the quality. It's worth it!!!

The atmosphere is what you would expect from a Fish House Restaurant these days. The Food was very good the beer was cold and tasty. Perfect place to get a bite to eat before going into the movies across the street. My BF had the Pork Chops BEWARE it is HUGE!!! and takes quite a while to cook. We sat at the bar since we came in on a Saturday night without reservations and it was crowded but we noticed that they moved the people that were waiting fairly quickly.

Seafood looked fresh the entree plates visuallly were nice our service was okay for "Bar Service" but I think it would have been nice for her to let us know up front that the Pork Chop was going to take a while just in case we had a movie to see. Nice Cigar lounge out back as well.

Everything was excellent, from the beer to the fresh fish, to the friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. The only downside was the extremely crowded bar, where many customers were standing or milling around, making it hard to get through at times. It's a fun spot for a night out, but it's not fine dining, as I thought it would be.

Have been once, for the weekend Beer Brunch. It's weakly themed as a Mardi Gras party, but the real reason to go are the carefully made beers. The beer brunch comes with three beers and we were able to sample all 8-10 from the rotating list. Tops were Cream Ale, Oatmeal Stout, and the Hef. Brunch buffet was extensive and acceptable: crab legs, oysters, eggs benedict, fruit, bagle, omelette and pasta stations. Not a fantastic meal, but throw in an outdoor patio w/fireplace and you'll have a fine place to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon.

The salad was umimaginative. The fish was served dried out. Place has no ambience, it is extremely noisy with it's high wood ceilings and lack of decor creating a lot of annoying echo.
