Filippi's Pizza Grotto

The food is reasonable and very good here. It's a great family restaurant because the food is kid-friendly. You can even order half-sizes since the portions are quite big. Kids get a ball of dough to mess around with before the food comes out. Try their pizza, it's fantastic!

This Filippis has a great location in kearny mesa thats big and accomodating! I ordered my usual affair of veal parmigiana and shared a small pizza with friends, all up to par with the usual medium to low pricing index. The cannolis kinda threw me off because they were lined with walnuts instead of pistachios? which was kind of weird because all the other ones ive been to dont use walnuts....but other than that, spot on for friends and family dining!

Filippis has great pizzas as well as other Italian food, such as pastas and sandwiches. It has a basic atmosphere inside, but the food is very good and very yummy.

The pizza here is super! It's a great family restuarant and there's plenty of room, so really never a big wait (however, the parking lot does get full fast!) The servers have always been very nice... service is good and pretty quick. My husband did order some ravioli once though and he thought is was extremely mediocre! So I would definitely stick with the pizza because it is definitely good!
