1 Stars: Jewlery Exchange is NOT the place to go!!! (by Jenny L.)

I just got engaged recently and received a three stone engagement ring w pave set diamonds on the sides. My fiance was told to go here because they supposedly had great prices. He got excited and wanted to propose so he bought my ring at a 7.5 size when he knew I wore a 5. When he proposed I saw that the diamond in the middle was crooked and one prong was large and bulky and it caught many people's attention right away. We took it to a friend who is a jeweler just to see what she would say and she said 1. she would never size the ring down because it may crack the setting and the paves could pop out 2. It looked like it had already been sized 3. that he paid too much. So here I am already disappointed. My fiance took it in to get sized and of COURSE they wanted to get that thing sized right away so that I could not exchanged it after it was sized. He ended up taking the ring back again because never was the middle diamond straightened out. When I got to see the ring a week later it was still too large for my finger and the diamond was STILL not right. Come on! You are jewelers! Obviously I am not and I see the problem. So we go in one more time and only to have a WITCH help us! She was so stinkin' RUDE! She said she could put little balls on the inside of the ring which were hideous, never telling me the other options! So she continued to get smart with me telling me and my fiance that "we were not hearing her correctly" and acted like she hated life and her job and us for wanting perfection or as close to it as possible! I am sorry, its MY ENGAGEMENT ring, what woman doesn't want it perfect She has to wear it FOREVER! Long story short: I would not do business there ever again! She treated my fiance (who is a police officer even) w no respect and was terribly rude! You can find nicer jewelry anywhere! Plus its in a horrible side of town. Just seems like a chop shop to me! And what is up with no returns!!!??? What if the person says NO? Then the poor guy is stuck w a ring?! They don't stand by there jewelry at all! This should have been an amazing experience because its such a special thing in a girl's life and they were horrible. I think the BBB should check this place out more!

1 Stars: Diamonds falling out (by Jessica G.)

I went here 3 years ago to look for my wedding ring and my husband and I ended up buying a $2200 ring. A year later I went in because one of the smaller diamonds fell out and of coarse my warranty had ran out. A man came over to look at the ring, put it up to his ear and shook it. He said your about to loose your big diamond.! I thought it was a joke by the way he just shook it. But sure enough I tried it and it was totally loose in the prongs. It took a week to repair and a few hundred to replace and clean the diamonds and I lost my ring a month later (which I was devastated about) I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. With the amount of money you'll spend on repairs you basically bought a more expensive ring.

1 Stars: The Jewelry Exchange... A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!! (by Glen Z.)

I went to the Jewelry Exchange in Tustin thinking this would be a great experience and that we would get a good deal. After looking through SEVERAL diamonds with incisions, dirty/brown and yellow diamonds... I finally came across one that was decent looking and chose that diamond to be mounted. We waited as they mounted and set the diamond. When I went to pick up my ring, I was very disappointed. It didn't look like the same diamond I had selected... this diamond was cloudy and had several MORE incisions... we knew that this was NOT the same diamond we had chosen to be mounted. We sat there arguing with the salesperson as one of the managers looked on. She could hear us debating about the stone and walked over to assist us, and I am sure to quiet down the situation also with other customers around. She was not friendly at all, but she did listen to our complaint and then tried to give us several other diamonds that were even worse than what they had previously mounted. We insisted that the diamond had been changed and that we wanted our money back. Of course they went through the routine of no money back, but we insisted or else! She wasn't that savvy of a business woman, although she tried! We left the store with a signed document from the manager saying that we were being refunded our money. Since they supposedly don't do returns and supposedly don't carry money in the store for returns, she said we would receive a check from their corporate office within 6 to 10 days in the mail, which we did.I would NEVER step foot in that crooked store ever again and I would advise others not to bother going there either. You can get your money returned, we did... don't back down!!! They are a dishonest business and they should be shut down! This business deserves less than ONE star! We ended up at Robbins Brothers Jewelry Store where we purchased a clear, incision free, beautiful diamond and received great customer service! In the future, Robbins Brothers' is where we'll shop!

1 Stars: No refunds period. (by bill i.)

This place is the worst store ever. I went there on a recommendation and ended up spending twice as much. The sales person had seamed very friendly and convincing (I think its training) Left the store with my $1500 diamond earring's for a Christmas present. There ok but was told I should have spent less. Ok take them back!NO, No, No was the only thing I got. Took them to another store to get appraised (Your money back if they dont upraise for double) Load of bull This only applies if you use there on duty appraiser! by the way the other store said These resemble frozen spit. You get what you pay for. No refunds only store credit to buy only their junk. I often wonder why is this place in business still? License to steal, as soon as you sign with your purchase. Check other stores they will have at least 5-7 day return policy ( for what you paid not credit)

1 Stars: Do your research first :( (by Elenore L.)

Please do your self a favor and shop around before going to the Jewelery Exchange. Read the paperwork because any money yougive them will never be returned. I went to buy an engagement ring and wedding band. They did not have the ring set I liked in Platinum so they said they would make it. I gave them a $1,500.00 deposit that I never saw again. The ring they made was completely different and there was no wedding band. The manager was a bitter woman with a stone face and would not listen to a word I said. I cut my loses and walked out with a 1,500.00 white gold set with no center stone. The ring I had chosen would have cost me $12,000.00 dollars. That was some savvy business woman.

1 Stars: Stoneless in California (by Stephanie B.)

My husband and I drove 2 hrs to the jewery exchange. Looking for Quality 2 yrs ago, We purchased a princess cut set, only to return 1 week later to have the prongs adjusted because the prongs were cutting everything it came in contact with including flesh. The adustment was made to the prongs. And 2 days ago I looked down at my ring only to the discover the entire stone was gone. I was devasteted. I will write to the BBB and report the poor workmanship of this institurion. My 2 carat ring is now 1 carat. This should have never happen. So take it from me spend the extra money and have piece of mind and all of your stones.

1 Stars: Scammed By The Jewlery Exchange (by Patrick T.)

The Jewlery Exchange in Tustin, CA sold me a Platinum band back in 2006 and I later came to realize that the ring was actually a cheaper White Gold ring instead. Their response was not to replace my White Gold ring with a Platinum one, but rather have me pay the difference for what a Platinum ring would cost today which would be hundreds of dollars extra. Through many unsuccessful attempts at resolving this issue with the store's management, I have since submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and am seeking a lawsuit in small claims court against The Jewelry Exchange. In addition to all this my wife has had multiple diamonds fall out of her wedding band in less than a year. This company has poor merchandise and even worse customer service. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE MORE REPUTABLE.

1 Stars: False and Misleading Advertising (by Yana V.)

I had a diamond solitaire I wanted to upgrade, and given that the store is called Jewelry Exchange- I thought this would be the place to go. At the store (after an hour drive) we were told they used to do exchanges 30 years ago (!), and now they only exchnage jewelry purchased from them. Two things with that regard. First, it is false advertising that is punishable by law, not to mention it is ridiculous. When you go to a restaurant, do you only get served if you have eaten there before??? Second, if the nature of your business changed over the years, CHANGE YOUR NAME to Jewelry Warehouse for example. Take your business and money elsewhere.

3 Stars: Don't Get Your Feelings Hurt! (by Anthony M.)

I had no problem with the large warehouse style jewelery store, it's like Costco for stones and settings.
I heard a few bad rumors, when i went to check it out, I thought how bad could it be? I was introduced to two nice ladies, not pushy, not intimidating. Totally helped me find the ring i was looking for within my budget.
The same rings i found elsewhere were 4-5 times the price, with the same color and clarity! Don't get your feelings hurt if the sales consultants don't take the time to pamper you, think of it as a favor. My recommendation is to have an idea about what your looking for when you go in, and you will do fine.

1 Stars: Very inflexible and rude- Will do my business elsewhere (by dean d.)

I was very disappointed with my visit to the Jewelry Exchange today. I had always heard their ads and drove in from Long Beach. I had loose diamonds( 8 smaller round) and I wanted to look at their gold ring settings. For security purposes, they only allow you to look through the counter glass at the setting assortment. The only problem with that is the intense glare from the overhead store lighting. You have to literally place your head forward almost over the glass and shadow the top portion to properly see the ring settings. It was ridiculous. I complained and spoke to store personnel and then the store manager. He said that if I did not like the store policy, I could leave. I did just that. I will never go to that store again.

1 Stars: Perhaps it was just the rep (by Nancy F.)

I just went to the Jewelry Exchange to purchase a diamond thinking I might be able to get a better deal than from the jeweler I was working with. The rep was so deceitful about diamond info and the price was quite a bit more than I had been quoted for a hearts and arrows diamond...at least $1,000 more! Thank goodness I educated myself from the internet and had talked to a few jewelers before I went there. The diamond he showed me also looked awful...very dull with so many incisions yet he said it was $4,200 and if I wanted a diamond with GIA it would cost me $1,000 more. I was so upset since I knew either he didn't think I knew anything and wanted to rip me off or just didn't care to work with me and wanted to get rid of me. The other reps there seemed nicer so I'm hoping it was just the rep.

4 Stars: Awesome prices (by Elizabeth G.)

The prices here are fantastic, especially for loose diamonds. I always compare prices before I buy jewelry, and the Jewelry Exchange has always had the best price for the quality. I recommend this store to all of my friends who are thinking about getting engaged. You might have to wait a while to get help, but it is worth the time.

4 Stars: Great Prices (by jenny d.)

In searching for an engagement ring we heard great things about The Jewelry Exchange. Being a contemporary girl their settings didn't appeal much to me but they offer fabulous prices on loose diamonds. But the great ones go very quickly so if you're looking to propose head there soon. You won't be sorry.
