Love this store for gift giving. There items are a splurge, but well worth it. You will like the wide variety of items and the friendly staff. Great place to buy wedding shower gift.

I stopped in shopping for one of those hard to buy for people and ended up getting a little something for myself as well. I just had to try the shampoo soap! Intoxicating smells and warm environment. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Check out their website; much easier if this is a gift for an out-of-state friend!

The Soap Kitchen, located in the heart of Old Town, is a great place to go for your soap-loving friends/family. I went into the shop to buy a present for my boss and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They have all sorts of soaps from lemongrass and lavender to rosemary and green tea and they smell heavenly!

They charge by the ounce for bars of soap. Also, the Soap Kitchen sells scrubs, massage oils, and lip balms with many of the same scents. I really like the atmosphere in this store because it's calming. They offer samples and a stamp card so that you can accumulate stamps and earn a free bar of soap after you accumulate. They also have a website!

PROS: great soaps, quality product, good service-very friendly!
CONS: a bit pricey

I like the Soap Kitchen for soap which is herbal, with an astringent edge.

It has the name it does because their soap is made in the back of the store-- you can watch when it's being done. The kitchen is available for customers to make their own soaps, using their soap base and your choice of ingredients. They have a little lounge area and take bookings for soap-making parties, which sounds like it could be a good solution if you've been put in charge of a shower or a bachelorette party.

Their soaps feature ingredients such as lavender, rosemary, and passionfruit, and they make seasonal soaps like a cinnamon and pumpkin one for Halloween. They have a two great olive oil lip balms. They also have shampoo soaps for people and (even) dogs.

If you have been to the tea shop Relaxtation, this store is run by the same person and has a similar atmosphere.
