My life is currently at risk due to her lies and neglect

by Anon A.

OMG! I was just looking for this woman's web page for her FAX # to get my old records. I can't believe she's been doing this to ALL of these people. I should have sued her. I had good cause. My life is currently at risk due to her lies and neglect ... First of all, I went there for bleeding during peri-menopause and I was always viewed by her suspiciously. I never understood her eyes, as she always had something else there when she was speaking... Originally, I saw her old partner who did a D&C on me and then promptly threw away my specimen. This was back 4-5 yrs ago ...The lab at St. Joe's got an empty vessel with NO TISSUE! So, I had a PAINFUL and INVASIVE completely POINTLESS Surgery!!! A year or so later, I also went in complaining about lesions, which she repeatedly claimed she couldn't see or feel. They turned out to be pre-cancerous and she NEVER bothered to call me with the results! I had had cancer already in that region, and it was paramount to know this info immediately! She didn't give a crap and tried to cover her ass by changing the date that she told me in my records! Then she claimed I had a long history of HPV when I was NEVER EVER diagnosed with that. I'd been going there for a couple of years, and she never once said I had that, and she also kept me waiting for 3.5 to 4 hours on the day I went in for the biopsies. I was shaking and my blood sugar was so low .... I didn't know why I felt so bad except I was starving ... I went there numerous times and was given the whole sh-peel about Eat Right for Your Blood Type and was also repeatedly judged on my morals, even though I am Catholic. And she solicited me by mail to go to her religious retreat to bond with my daughter. Illegal and unprofessional! I now had new biopsies on my uterus for dysplasia, and because she said it was OK that they lost my insides they scraped out, I am looking at whatever has grown in that many years which may be too far along by now to treat! In addition, my blood sugar came back high 3X, and she claimed I must have had a mint before my blood work ... and I should go on the Eat Right for your Blood type diet and lose weight... It took me another 6 months, 2 hospitalizations for heart related symptoms and two angio grams to find out that I had PRE-diabetes!!! The 3x my blood sugar was high on a fasting blood test proved that. I got treatment, and guess what that nearly 100+ lbs that Dr Reyes made me feel ashamed about because I couldn't stick to her crazy diet, melted off like butter! She's a nut case and a psycho and should rot in hell. The nurses at St.Joe's told me after the D&C to never go to her again, and that ALL the nurses there HATE her, and she the worst Dr they have ever worked with. Sorry to say this about anyone, but she'll kill you through neglect, so why trust your precious baby to this woman. Seriously!

Medical Malpractice or????

by C M.

Has anyone spoken to an attorney regarding their misdiagnosis or recommended procedures? I ask because of my recent horror and wondered if there is strength in numbers.

Dr.or not?

by winde s.

Wow, after reading all these reviews, I wouldn't even want to see this Dr. Reyes. I am a student for Medical Billing & Coding, and this sounds like a case of fraud, I would even question if Dr. Reyes is even a Dr. If after so many years and no more birth control prescriptions to patients, it sounds like maybe if she had a license to prescribe BC, maybe she got it revoked, or she is being watched. Don't go to this Dr.

Leave patients in the lurch

by C H.

I went to Dr. Reyes for about 4 years (of course, never even met her). It was always OK. It was close to home so I figured it was better than nothing.

My prescription for birth control pills ran out and I called to ask them to give me a one month extension because I got married and things were hectic. Come to find out, she no longer prescribes BCPs!! Now, I'm supposed to be on day 1 of the pill, but I'm left our to dry (and so is my new husband!). This is completely ludicrous. They wouldn't even consider a one month grace period. And they were rude on the phone. I have never encountered anything like this, and I definitely will NEVER recommend Dr. Reyes to anyone I care about.

So here I am, having to find a new Gynecologist in no time flat all because they suddenly changed their practice 180 degrees. It seems that they have no consideration for their clientele.

Religious Zealot!!!!!!

by Susan E.

I was a patient of Dr. Reyes for about 6 years. In mid 2007 I had an appt. for my annual check-up and pap smear. The visit went fine, but due to some blood tests that she took I needed to return in 1 month. At that appt. she proceeded to question my religious beliefs, I was taken aback, but thought there has to be a good reason, so I answered briefly about my spiritual leanings. She began to press me for more information, but I told her that my beliefs were important to me and I was happy with them. I had a third appt. due to medications she prescribed, she then really turned on the pressure, making me feel really uncomfortable and the last thing she said to me was "I believe your health issues and concerns can only be helped by accepting my beliefs, that's the true way to wellness". That did it for me! Her theological proselytizing and pressuring has no place in a doctor's practice, plus I wonder if she were to remain my doctor would she provide me with the same quality of care as she would patients of her faith? My health is too important to have to even consider continuing with her.

Stay away

by Anonymous

I found Dr. Reyes' office on the Blue Cross website. I wanted a female doctor close to home. Too bad that after 2 years, I never met her. The first time I went for a pelvic exam (regular checkup) I was impressed by the NP that I was scheduled with. They told me they'd call if there was anything to be concerned about or I'd get mail if results were normal. I got my results in the mail about a week later. I don't think the same NP works there anymore but when I got the reminder card in the mail the following year, I figured I'd schedule another appointment since all went well the first time. THIS time I was brought in and left in an exam room that was sweltering hot! Also, I could hear EVERYTHING that was being said in the exam room next door. I'm sure the patient next to me did not want me to hear about all her issues. The wall separating us did not even go all the way to the corner. When I finally got examined by another NP, she even commented on how hot it was in the room and left the door open a crack while I changed back into my clothes afterward so I could get some air. She also explained to me that the doctor no longer allowed them to prescribe birth control. (I think it's against her Catholic faith) She was very nice tho' and said they could give my records to my GP so he could prescribe and gave me info on resources for 'natural' birth control. I asked when I could expect my results. She told me they'd mail it in about a week. Well, it's been 4 months and I have not received ANYTHING. I called them a month after my appointment to ask about it and to make sure they had my correct new address. They said "oh it was at the bottom of the pile of stuff that the nurse has to sign off on - but it says your results are normal." I asked for it to be mailed to me anyway. I waited and nothing for another few weeks. I called back and the person who answered said she remembered mailing it to me before (yeah, right) but she'd do it again. To this day, I have not received anything in the mail. I just want peace of mind. Now at this point I'm having other problems that I want to get checked but I do not want to go back to this office. I want to see a DOCTOR. I feel like if you're not pregnant, you're nothing to them there. I'm not ready to get pregnant but I do want to be healthy!

Truth or Lie?

by E C.

I now have to look for a new doctor after her staff informed me that Dr. Reyes no longer feels comfortable prescribing birth control pills!

I have never met this Dr. Reyes since I've always been scheduled with her nurse practitioners. I thought that was odd to never see the doctor whose name is on the door. But regardless, I had always received my prescriptions... until recently when I was told of her conviction.

Is this something any of you have heard of? That Dr. Reyes is against birth control and will not be prescribing it any longer to patients? Or was it a way to rid patients who were only coming in for check ups?

Terrible

by Anonymous

This was the most terrible experience I have ever had. The staff may seem nice to your face but over the phone the patient is a nobody. The waiting room is crowded and the wait is excessivley long. Way over 45 minutes. You must pay for parking also. The waiting room is tiny and the receptionist has a window that is always kept closed unless she opens it to call someone. I was dropped as a result of an error in my urine test. The doctor did not do another test or bother to consult with my earlier doctor to see what the issue couldbe. Instead i recieved a letter in the mail saying that this fool of a docotr would no longer be helping. IDIOTS. After this they would give me or my new doctor my current medical records. They failed all my expectations with flying colors. They are not worth the price of parking. I do not know how this office is allowed to be kept running. I will be reporting this doctorand her two person staff to their medical board because an office in this shape should not be allowed to run. It is hard to believe that the people who run this office are actual women because they have no respect for the women who do come into there office. There is nothing nice i can get myself to say about these "people".I drove over 40 minutes away to be treated by a caring and compassionate woman doctor to find out she was lousy. this office is a shame to all the women out there. Now I am with a male doctor and i am surprised to find that he is totallly more qualified and caring than this terrible practice this lady runs. Good luck to anyone who goes to this so called "doctor".

Pros: You get a nice little pamphet at your first visit.
Cons: All

Great Doctor and staff, will reccomend

by Anonymous

I have seen Dr Reyes for about 4 years and would recommend anyone to her office. Occasionally there is a bit of a wait but it's all worth it. Her staff is extremely helpful, including her NPs. When I was pregnant, she took special care to ensure that my baby was monitored constantly as he went past his due date. When we determined that I needed a C-Section, she performed it the night after she had been on vacation since the fluid levels in my uterus were too low for her comfort. My sister is pregnant with twins and has other conditions that put her in a high risk category and Dr Reyes has made it a point to schedule monthly (for now) visits to ensure that everything is okay.

Unnecessary Drama

by bernadette B.

I should have known better than to see Dr. Reyes when the world's biggest drama queen referred me to this office.

My first appointment was with a former NP who wrote the incorrect YEAR on my prescription (drama) and then showed up an HOUR late to my follow up (more drama). Then, a year later, I got to experience the "magic" of Dr. Reyes after waiting longer than an hour in her waiting room and another hour in her freezing cold exam room while she smarmily doted on two other PREGNANT couples (guess you have to be pregnant to rate at this office - unacceptable). She has to be the coldest and most insensitive medical "professional" I've ever experienced. Nothing makes me happier than asking an uncomfortable personal question and having the doctor haughtily respond with "Sounds like an STD" which could not have been FURTHER from the truth.

And stay away unless you plan on taking a vacation day from work because you will not get out of that office in less than two and a half hours. It's amazing to me that people like Dr. Reyes can't find the manners to at least apologize for their lateness and for wasting your time. WE'RE PAYING THEM!!!!

Her front desk staff has always been kind and accommodating and it's too bad that their boss doesn't have the same energy. She is completely devoid of compassion, patience and a sense of humor.

Maybe Dr. Reyes should just deal with pregnant women and give up the "boob and lube" appointments....she obviously has no time to accommodate women who are on a schedule.

Avoid.

PROS: Front Office Staff is Very Kind
CONS: Too many to even write.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

by Shea F.

I started seeing the NPs at Dr. Reyes' office about 2.5 yrs ago. I loved it back before the "divorce" (as described below). Now, I always have to wait 45 minutes after my scheduled time to get through the door. Last time, I had to wait another 20 minutes in the room with nothing but a little gown. Well, today was the last straw. I went for follow up after some blood work but some symptoms had changed and after doing some research, it seemed, I probably needed to get some more blood taken. Instead, the new NP told me I should "eat for my blood type." Now, nothing against those that follow this lifestyle but it is not for me. I maintain a healthy diet and weight and this was NOT the reason I went in. She did not see a need for blood tests or medication, just thought I should change my diet and wait it out a few months. Keep in mind, I have already been waiting 2 months for this appointment. I told the NP this diet did not fit into my lifestyle and that I wasn't going to follow it. that I needed something more concrete to go on. The NP did not listen to what I had to say and did not offer me a reasonable solution for my problems. She also talked about me while I was in the room and the nurse said, "Well, why did she come in if she isn't going to listen to you?" So, I left and am now looking for a new obgyn.

PROS: none
CONS: don't listen, long wait time

Avoid This OB/GYN

by G A.

Had a horrible experience with this "Doctor" - her nurse practioner took it upon herself to diagnise a rare early pregnancy problem with my wife - when absolutely NOTHING was wrong! This caused significant emotional stress on my family. The Doctor was cold and clinical when informed and actually agitated when we pressed for her do her own exam of my wife (which included a 5 min exam which she billed at $400). A trip to a local specialist was surprising in that he said he no longer accepted referrals from her as she often misdiagnosed issues and left patients in poor emotional states. A new OB/GYN's office - in the same building - commented they rec'd a lot of new patients from "Dr" Reyes due to her poor practice. Thankfully my wife and soon to be baby is fine! Avoid this "doctor" - you'll be thankful you did!

PROS: NONE AT ALL
CONS: Cold, Clinical and Unprofessional

Great Doctor and Staff

by Caryn L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,080

I've been going to Kim Reyes, MD for years. I usually see her Nurse Practioners and they are all fabulous. The staff is very gracious and helpful and there is never a long wait, which is such an asset at an MD office! They take most insurances and the office is very warm and inviting!

Money better spent elsewhere

by MVC M. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,491

Besides the reception staff being dumb and rude, Dr. Reyes is just as rude and cold. Not at all worth the $150 (for the uninsured), especially when it's a year later and I'm still waiting for the office to give me my results. I'm going to a different doctor this time around and am having problems getting my records, which I am, and you all are entitled to have for yourself, and that's state law. I'll say more when I get my records!

Don't waste your time. She'd rather be boogie-boarding.

PROS: Absolutely None
CONS: Doesn't listen to the patient, or consider previous Dr's notes

Dr Reyes Rocks!!!

by Rebekah F. | insider Insider | Rank: 28,854

Dr. Reyes was the most sensitive and informative doctor ever. We had high blood pressure issues and our son was breach in the last month before his birth. We both found Dr. Reyes to be totally in sync with our natural childbirth plans. When it was evident that we needed a C section she came in at 10:00 P.M. to perform it...just so we didn't have to be in labor any longer. Her caring made having our child the most special moment in our lives to date.

PROS: Near St. Joseph's Hospital
CONS: none

Find someone else!

by T H.

Three women from my office have gone to Kim Reyes office and none of us have had good experiences. She told two of us that our spouses must be cheating on us after she falsely diagnosed us with STDs (test results later proved she was wrong in both cases - but obviously trauma had already been inflicted on us and our partners). Her total lack of bedside manner also caused a pregnant co-worker to cry! All of us have found new doctors, and I would NEVER recommend her or anyone in that office.

PROS: none
CONS: terrible bedside manner, impossible to get anyone on the phone

There are much better out there!

by Lyn B.

I got stuck with Dr. Reyes, when her partner left (leaving me to wonder why she left- officially I was told, "we got a divorce"). She has zero bedside manner, she is rarely available and their office does a terrible job of returning phone calls. You just feel like a number.

PROS: Nearby
CONS: Don't expect a call back.

Aweful

by r j.

This physician should have her license removed. She rarely is available for her patients and on many occasions has missed the delivery of their babies because she was not in the hospital on time. She is a big induction and Ceasarian section fan so if this is not what you want, you should seek another physician. She is cold and has her own agenda without consideration for the patient's individual needs. She is extreme in all her recommendations most of which could be construed as unnecessary or detrimental to patient health.

Dr. Reyes is just an amazing person. In addition to providing excellent routine care, she handles extraordinary situations and conditions with the utmost in compassionate care. Dr. Reyes and her staff are focused on your wellness, both physical and metal. She is very prompt about returning emergency calls after hours. I highly recommend Dr. Reyes.

PROS: The best care for women
CONS: Have to pay for parking
