Went to get my fiancees wedding band here, and had limited time so could not get a custom one made. Was looking for one that fit the engagement ring perfect. Sue was super friendly and super helpful. After an hour of looking found the PERFECT match. It was a great deal, and I saved so much that I got my Tungsten Carbide wedding band for myself! Got the engagement ring cleaned which was normal price for cleaning, and they cleaned my moms ring for free as well! Would definitely shop here again. Thanks SUE!

Very good place to go shopping for jewelry - I found a great pair of pearl and emerald earrings here that I just had to have and because their prices are so good, I was able to splurge on them for a little Christmas gift to myself.

Staff here is friendly beyond belief and not pushy either. I bought some earrings for my wife for Christmas and found exactly what I wanted here - and it's a bit less expensive than those places in the mall. Glad to find a good jeweler - will be back here for a Valentines gift next month.

Hands down the best seleciton on engagement rings that I found out of all the places I went to. The rings were reasonably priced and I found the perfect ring for my fiancee. She loved the ring and I like that I could find the right ring and not be overcharged.

Man did I get a deal at George Thompson's . Went in trying to compare prices with Blue Nile.

Blue Nile had a 1.35ct VS1 D with prices from $21,000 to $29,000. Mr Thompson had the same diamond with the same GIA certificate and it was only $19,000. Wow! and the experience was informative and fun for both me and my future wife. When she looked at this diamond she fell in love.

I have only the best things to say about this company. Do yourself a favor and at least check them out. Great deals, beautiful diamonds and very friendly helpful people.

I was in the market for an engagement ring and a friend that purchases a lot of jewelry recommended George Thompson Jewelry due to his direct diamond purchasing and private facility in Bangkok. My budget was limited but I wanted something unique for my bride to be. I met George and his daughter Kathleen (and later his wife) at the store after mentioning that I had been referred and was in initially pleased that this was very much a family business.

I worked with George, Kathleen and Sue to design an entirely new ring. The design was done right there at the store. The process was fun and George's staff were always courteous and helpful. George quoted me a price that was considerably less (thousands) than I had received from other jewelers for similar work and diamonds, and after I approved it, the design was sent to Bangkok to be built. It arrived a little while later and the results were fantastic. George named it "The Hope" ring after my fiance', also named Hope. George asked if he could include it in his marketing and newsletters. We couldn't have been more pleased. Hope said yes to my proposal, and since then we have purchased several additional items. Each time receiving the best customer service, respect and prices anywhere.

If you are looking for quality service, a family atmosphere and the best prices, Hope and I recommend without reservation that you take a look at George Thompson Jewelry. We did and now have a jewelry connection for life

I was so confused when I saw all of these bad reviews for George Thompson here and on yelp too. I wrote an awesome review on yelp because I love George Thompson! I have never had a bad experience there and have always recommended his store. My husband and I both got our wedding rings from there and have had no problems at all. I went for my warranty six month check up recently and it was an easy process. I feel bad for anyone who has had a bad experience but I promise, they're great!!

My husband bought me a small diamond ring for my birthday--which I guess happens to be an engament ring. The gold band cracked about 1 week later so I took it to the George Thompson store to get it repaired and I was completely embarrased by the sales lady. She loudy announced that my engament ring was only worth about $800 and wondered why I even bothered to repair it instead of buying a "real wedding ring." Too bad I wasn't wearing my wedding ring that day, she would have been jealous. I found it incredible that a sales person would be so awful to a customer. We will never go into that store again.

This was the second time my fiance went to this store. The first experience was great. However, when we took a family ring (1 carat diamond, plus other smaller diamonds) to be set in my engagement ring, the salesperson tried to talk us out of platinum and acted as though he did not have time for us. And all the while George Thompson was in close proximity to us. Unfortunate. By the way...we went to a new store in Ventura who is much better on service as well as designing us a wonderful ring. I am just sorry that the George Thompson store lost our businees. Service does matter...

I went to George Thompson for an engagement ring after visiting other local jewelers and was impressed with the difference in pricing and how much there is to choose from. I did choose a great diamond ring and my now wife is still very happy. We continue to go in for our free warranty inspections and look forward to more diamonds in the future!

I am convinced that you get the highest quality stones at the best price and I have shopped around. I would never hesitate to send anyone there no matter what size their budget. My wife wanted to get her engagement/wedding ring redone. George Thompson got personally involved with the deal. When all was said and done we got a ring my wife is VERY happy with for a VERY reasonable price.

The personal care we received in this store, and the genuine desire to make the cusotmer happy has us spreading the good word about where to go for diamonds in our area.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary this July. When we were looking for my wedding band, we knew we wanted something unique that we would enjoy for a lifetime. We also knew we didn't have much money to spend. We had the opportunity to talk with George and he suggested we design our own set with him! We certainly never thought we could afford such a service and hadn't even considered this as an option. George worked with us to create a design that reflected exactly what we had in mind and at a cost which was about half of what we expected based on the research and shopping we had already done. It is fun to show my ring to people and tell them that I designed it. I never have to worry about someone having the same set and I love it! Thank you for the great service and lasting memories!

I bought my wife's engagement ring from George Thompson and since then have gone back for earrings and more. Recently we had a chance to ghave these independly appraised for Insurance reasons - and they were appraised at much highter value than I paid for them - I was really Jazzed about it, I will go there for all jewelry I need because their quality is #1 - and they really care to treat me great!! I really feel that this is an honorable and trustworthy business and I reccomend them to everyone AAA++++

I recently purchased some diamond earrings and I am very satisfied with the quality of the diamonds. It took me so long to find just the right pair because of my tendancy to feel like I am being ripped off. That is not the case here. I was approached with professionalism and honesty and I happily write this review that this Jewelry store is fabulous and I am a very happy customer. Also I know I received a good deal because I shopped around before and after my purchase and I was not disappointed. It also gives me relief that this company has been around for so long with such a grat reputation. I am a very happy customer and I admit I am very tough to please!

I have been going to George Thompson the past 20 years, and I continue to be impressed with how great it is there! I have been able to acquire some fabulous jewelry at a very fair price! The ladies there treat me very well, and if I go in at a busy time of year I am quickly greeted and assured that I will be helped as soon as possible. The ladies there are friendly and know what they are talking about. Whenever George is in the store he will come up and see how the experience is. I really do feel that he is my friend, as his slogan goes. And on top of that he will give me an even better price. I recommend all of my friends and family to have their jewelry needs met there. I haven't found a place to beat the price and the quality, and the service is just as great! Everyone should shop George Thompson Diamond Company!

I have done business with George Thompson Diamond Co. for over 30 years and have had nothing but the greatest service, respect and quality of product. I go to them for all my jewelry needs as well as repairs and even to sell gold. I have always been treated like I was the most valued customer and observed the same treatment to all the customers every time I go. I have read so many bad comments and shake my head knowing that they must have George Thompson Diamond Co mixed up with someone else or a failing business thrashing for survival. I would never trust another jeweler! George knows it's the quality of service, product and customer satisfaction that has made his business a success, why would he change what works!

I always go to George Thompson Diamond Company because of their great prices and customer service. All of the sales ladies are so nice and help me to find exactly what I want. I was especially impressed that George himself interacts with the customers and always has a smile on his face. You can't find that at a chain jewlery store.Some of my friends have gotten jewlery other places that they said was a "good price" but the quality does not compare to George Thompson's. I would recommend anyone to go to George Thompson Diamond Company because they will get the best quality, price, and service.

My diamond stud earrings, a solitaire engagement ring my birthstone ring and many more pieces. I have been happy with everything. The quality is great. The service we receive is great. I am always so happy when my husband shops there for me because I know I am getting something wonderful. The sales staff at George's are very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm am always a happy camper when we shop at George Thompsons.

I have been to over 15 jewelers and nobody had the selection of wedding sets that I found at George Thompson's Literally there were so many different wedding sets iI could not count them all and they were right in their cases for me to try on. I hate looking at rings on the Internet and can not see how they look on my finger. I want to see how it looks and then when I am wearing it how it talks to me and makes me feel. Really, I have tried on 100s of wedding sets and nothing looked just right, But at George Thompson's I found 3 sets that were in the running. Finally, my fiance helped me and we found the perfect wedding set. I am so happy. I really don't understand how anyone can say anything wrong about George Thompson. The sales girl, Terry really knew her diamonds and was patient, friendly and knowlegeable. I love my new wedding ring.

My fianc and I went in to the store and was doted on. The knowledgeable staff treated us with respect and really cared about our future plans. I went all over, including to the jewelery district, downtown, and felt so warm and welcome. I found the perfect ring for me and I will definitely be coming back there for his wedding band, as well as any future jewelery. My saleslady was so knowledgeable and accomodating, and even though I am often very a very picky person, especially about something I will be wearing for the rest of my life, but she understood what I had in mind and she was patient and kind, I can't sing her praises enough. I felt like I Annie partof the George Thompson Diamond Family!!!!

I would never purchase another piece of jewelry here. My husband bought me a 1 ct multi-diamond ring for my birthday.When I went in for the 6 mo cleaning as my paperwork said to do I handed the woman the ring and she said rudely and laughed "I don't think you got this here" noting it's poor quality. I then pointed out the woman who sold it to us. She came over and said she would clean it (like it was a big deal) but that this ring didn't come with any "services." (Although my paperwork for the ring said otherwise.) She then tried to talk me into upgrading the diamonds in my "inferior" ring. I did not tell my husband of this poor treatment because he would have been upset. I just figured that I would NEVER purchase anything from this store again. Until my nice husband purchased me a ring for christmas and the sold him an overpriced fake emerald ring which cannot be replaced or returned. What a lousy a business model, always keep the customer unsatisfied, make fun of them and talk them into buying crap. I am now doing my part to reverse the power cycle. DO NOT SHOP at this store.

Purchased my wedding ring set from GT 10 years ago and have been going back every 6 months for check-ups. Yesterday went in waited over 20 minutes no one ever looked up or acknowledged I was there. Only 1 customer in the store. 4 store workers sitting at computers checking their personal emails (should turn their screens) and gossiping. My friend wanted to look at emeralds, I wanted to get my ring cleaned/checked. Got tired of standing, so sat down. 20 minutes later of being invisible, I loudly yelled out, let's go get some lunch since no one intends to wait on us. Came back after lunch since I drove over 60 miles for the check-up. A normal ring clean & check takes no more than 15 minutes. Was there another 40-45. Waiting, waiting for service, they were not busy even when we came back. My friend asked the man at his computer what was so interesting-personal emails he replied. George came out of the back and like magic I was waited on! Terrible customer service, insulting. Clearly judged by a bunch of snobs. Have never felt comfortable in the store since I made the first purchase. Won't purchase anything else there but will have to endure the 6-month hassle for the warranty since the prongs have been loose several times and the settings worn. Too bad they have missed out on a huge purchase made today in Santa Barbara! Huge!Never judge a customer, get off your a**--you who only works for the jeweler!

I know jewelry. I walked in asking to see a G-I color VS1-VS2 2ct RBC diamond. The lady was nice but showed me first of all only 1ct already in a setting and second they were crap diamonds. It was as if she already judged what I could or could not afford. I look young but it doesn't mean I deserve less. So, I went to Joseph's Fine Jewelers in Ventura and spent my $8,000 there, I got a bigger diamond and it is certified!

I bought diamond earrings their that were not cheap. They looked beautiful in the store until I left and saw black spots in them. I went to return them and they said I'm sorry those are just carbon spots. They said I could get store credit for them but I wanted my money back. I didn't want to purchase another pair that had black spots in them once I left the store. I had to about cry before the decided I should get my money back. The place is a complete joke. If your going to make a big purchase don't risk a cheap place like this.

My boyfriend and I have been out shopping for my wedding ring. We found the perfect ring, but it cost too much because it was a Tacori designer ring. We went to George Thompson's, my friend in the diamond business and we designed a ring even better than the one I originally wanted and had it made in his Bangkok jewelry factory. We then picked out a bigger and better diamond than we saw at the other store. Everything was designed on a computer exactly like I wanted. My fiance and I are so happy, because this ring is a one of a kind wedding set that was made only for me. It took 6 weeks, and I got it last week. It is even better that I could have imagined. All my friends think it is the prettiest ring they have ever seen and so do I. And it was half what the other jewelry store wanted. I highly recommend George Thompson's.

Everyone is so nice, and helpful and honest.In fact, when my son came to me and told me he wanted to get an engagement ring, I did not hesitate. I told him lets go over to my jeweler George Thompson. He asked if I could help him pick it out. Of course I said yes and together we went to my jeweler. What an amazing experience. When we walked in everyone said hello, and couldn't believe how much my son had grown and now he was getting married, unbelievable. I didn't know it but my son had done alot of research on the Internet and really knew his prices, and qualities and all that. To make a long story short. These guys knew there stuff and found a better diamond at a better price than anything on the Internet.Was I ever happy and to share the experience of picking out the engagement ring for my future daughter in law was a wonderful once in lifetime experience I hope every mother can have.Me and my son were treated like Royalty at George Thompsons. I have recommended them to all my friends for years and have never, never heard anything but complements. If you want to go to the best Jeweler, and get the best price and the best advice, then go to George Thompson. I know you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I purchased both of our wedding rings and my engagement ring from George Thompson. Our first two experiences were good. We worked with a woman that was very nice. We picked out an engagement ring and my husbands band from their selection at the store.
Our experience with my custom wedding band that they designed was HORRIBLE. The ring came back and did not look like the drawing they gave us. The diamonds were smaller and did not match up to the engagement ring on the sides. The men we worked with Robert and George himself were very rude to us and tried to guilt us into taking the unacceptable ring. Saying that they would lose money if they sent it back to be remade. This whole ordeal has taken almost a year. My husband and I are disgusted with George Thompsons company. We feel we were bullied into taking a ring we are unhappy with.

Over the last couple of months, I have been to the store three times, once for my wife's anniversary present, once for her Christmas present and once for a friends gift. Each time the service has be reasonable Could always be better at any store). The selection and the quality were quite good. The pricing was about what I would expect if someone is not trying to get rich off of each sale. I cannot speak to their after sale service, as I have not had to deal with them in that fashion, but their sales staff and selection certainly warrant a return trip.

My Husband bought me a diamond anniversary band here, i noticed that although the diamonds weren't the highest quality they were still ok but one of the diamonds had a chip in it. I returned to the store and a young man offered me help. When I told him my concerns about the one diamond, he walked away from the counter then came back and told me, "your husband was aware that these were not the best quality diamonds, we told him to upgrade and he said no." When I asked him if he was the sales person who helped my husband, he said no. I then asked him if that meant that they wouldn't replace the one diamond he told me, "no we won't" I told him any reputable company would replace the diamond with one of similar quality, but with out the chip, he said "well we won't" When i told him I thought I would take an ad out in the paper telling people what type of customer service they had, he said "fine, go for it!" So here is one of my ad's DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE, THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES, OR STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS FOR GOOD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!!!

I was returning to the store to do a trade in on my old wedding ring. I had since been divorced, and the ring just sat in my jewelry box. It was an awesome ring. So I had called and I was told I could trade it in for something else. I made the drive from Northern Ca to Camarillo, and the lady who helped me was good and quick. She looked me up and told me what I had credit for towards something else. I was more than happy to give them my ring and in return I got 1/2 carat princess cut diamond earrings, that I LOVE. I get many compliments, and I have not seen this size for the price I got these. Well worth the drive. I would do it again :0)

The store is very large & nicely decorated.They have a large selection of everything.They mostly specialize in diamond engagement rings and wedding sets.They have mid to high line.You can choose your mounting and stones.Or buy what they have in the store.It is difficult to get waited on unless you look like you have money.A guy my husband works with and my husband went during their lunch to buy an engagement ring for the guys girlfriend.The employee told him we are busy come back latter.I assume he figured the guy was just a poor mechanic.Well the guy had his income tax return of close to $4,000.He didn't go back.

CONS: Rude employee
