Barney's Gourmet Hamburger

I was suprised and disappointed, on a recent visit to Barney's in Albany, to find that they have joined the cheap fast food joints in eliminating fresh tomatoes from their menu because of the salmonella scare. California is full of tomato varieties that are known to be perfectly safe (check out the Safeway down the block). Surely a well-respected local restaurant can do better than this!

This little shoppe is pretty cozy and I'm glad to report that they offer veggie burgers as well as delicious milkshakes! You can read more of my reviews on SanFranciscoRestaurantReview.com But you should totally check out Barney's hamburgers!

This place specializes in hamburgers and salads. they have an extensive menu and their burger are cooked to order. Now you say, what's so great about a "gourmet" burger? Try one and you'll find your answer.

Barney's has several locations in the Bay Area and a couple Southern California area. Check out their menu online. They even have a kid's menu and great salads to choose from. Take out orders are also available here. Prices are affordable for the large protions you get.

Afterwards you can head on over to Fentons (see my review) for some great ice cream. It's only a couple blocks away.
