Eye Max

I've been purchasing my eye wear from Optical Phases ever since they opened over 20 years ago! I can always count on Vick or Curtis to have or find exactly what I need! They have never let me down! Their service is prompt and efficient. They are very reliable and dependable. Their Products are excellent quality, up to date and trendy. I highly recommend them as the only source I use in Davis or any where around for that matter! You can not go wrong purchasing your eye wear from Optical Phases which is now renamed Eye Max. I know you will be as happy as I have been with your choice!

Optical Phases, now Eye Max, has been my dispensing optician of choice for many years. They also have a store in Sacramento which carries more trendy frames over the Davis location. Both Victor and Curtis know a great deal about what frames and colors will look good on your face. They have taught me general principles which have been indispensable over time.

Some Davis folks think a small local shop must be expensive. I don't agree. Most all the eye shops I've been to have very similar prices on their lenses. Optical Phases gives you many lens vendors to choose from and can tell you why a Nikon costs more than a more generic one, etc. They also give package discounts when you buy your frames and lenses from them at the same time.

At the end of the day, I stopped using my health plan optical benefit because they only apply the benefit to the max list price for the frams, tints, coatings, etc. My glasses always ended up costing about the same as at Optical Phases. And all my progressives have always worked fine for me when Victor does them. At other shops this has not been true. And some shops are more amenable to reordering a lens than others.

Give the new Eye Max a try and make up your mind for yourself. I think you'll find them a worthy contender.

Minus the Optometrist's office, I think Optical Phases is one of the only places to get eye glasses in Davis. When I went in there I was met with a small disheveled store where all their glasses were laid out on tables and shelves. They seem to specialize in designer glasses that cater to the young professional, because of this their prices are pretty high. I found a pair of glasses that I liked and they worked with my insurance and I paid the difference. They will not have the selection that a place like Lenscrafters has, but if you are in need of a pair of glasses and can't drive into Sacramento then this is your best bet.
