Yum  5 Star Rating - World class

I've been here for lunch and breakfast a couple of times and it's lovely. Everyone there is friendly, and it's just a great local hangout to get something to eat. They're always stocked with yummy-looking desserts (the cupcakes go fast though, with good reason). Their sandwiches and french toast, the only things I've tried so far, are great. And yes, they are starting to sell more dessert-related items, like books on cupcake recipes and candies. A week ago there was a table full of newspapers! I'm not complaining though. Highly recommended.

PROS: cupcakes, the food
CONS: can get crowded

overpriced and incompetent  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I contracted them provide food for a wedding reception - three 45-serving salad trays and four pies, which was confirmed by phone and email. On the day of the reception my friends went to pick up the food and all they had were the three salad trays - quite a bit smaller than described - and NO pies, for the unbelievable price of $438.91. My friends compained but were not allowed to take ANY food without paying the full price. We had a wedding reception full of hungry guests, which Auntie Em's knew - they had us over a barrel. My friends frantically scrambled around town and managed to buy four supermarket pies to replace the ones that Auntie Em's didn't make. It was a pretty sorry wedding reception, with not enough salad to go around and supermarket pies.

I have been trying now for about three months to be reimbursed for the pies that we were charged for but never got, and it has been a nightmare. They have apologized profusely and repeatedly promised to send me a check but they never do. It's not like I'm asking them for a special favor, I just want to be reimbursed for the pies that they charged me for and did not make. How hard can this be? But despite repeated promises and apologies the check (like the pies) never materializes.

As a side note I should mention that you shouldn't go there if it makes you uncomfortable to see employees browbeaten by the management/owners.

Pretty good cupcakes...  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I love the size of these things. Pretty tastey as well. I found you by word of mouth. If you don't have an appetite for a huge cupcake, stay away. The cupcake was pretty good! More fresh and better service than standing in line at sprinkles.

Tasty sandwiches for lunch  4 Star Rating - Very good

Auntie Ems is a very artsy type of place with great food. The last lunch I had there was a nice Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich with a Coke. The waitresses were very nice and there was plenty of seating. The desserts looked delicious but I did not try them.

PROS: Nice ambiance, good service, great food
CONS: none

very good for breakfast or lunch  4 Star Rating - Very good

Hey, I grew up in Eagle Rock, remember "the "Bucket". Auntie Ems fits right in, personable, great omelets. I have been there several times and always enjoyed it. Prices are right on. We've come a long ways since Bob's Big Boy, which was on Colorado in Eagle Rock.

Great Food  4 Star Rating - Very good

Located in a crowd of restaurants this one truly stands out.
Offering such breakfast choices as orange french toast and blueberry pancakes, home fries, and generous portions
Leave room for dessert if you can, velvet cake, brownies, pies and peach cobbler.
Bring your appetite!

So Cute!  5 Star Rating - World class

I heard about this place and had to try it that same day for lunch. I had high expectations to begin with and Antie Ems still impressed me! Their sandwiches are so good, made with fresh ingredients and herb breads. They make different soups that everyday that the other patrons there were commenting on how good they were. Their quiche special was also really good and they had several sides you could choose from in a display case. Believe me, it was hard to choose. I was stuffed after my meal so I had to take one of their famous giant cupcakes to go. (I didnt want to miss out on them, they looked that good.) The staff was so friendly and conversational, it was clear that they all loved this place too. Just recently they expanded to have a market next door also with specialty cheeses, cook books, gifts, and more. I plan on going back soon to try more of the menu and buy my Mom a gift, she would love this place.

Great food, very unique and eclectic atmosphere  5 Star Rating - World class

Auntie Ems Kitchen is a great little eaterie tucked away in a corner of Eagle Rock I had never been to. Using lots of fresh and colorful foods, they craft really great sandwhiches, salads, and soups. They also specialize in baked goods.I ordered the special quiche and orzo as a side. Yumm! My friend and I were both impressed with the selection and taste of everything we ordered! Free valet is available for your car. They just opened a little store next door where you can by Auntie Em's homemade soups as well as other cute items such as jams, spreads, and knick knacks for your kitchen. The wait staff mingled with the customers and it was a great place to go on lunch break!

PROS: Very unique, great food and service
CONS: finding it can be a bit tricky if you don't have a map

the BEST in Eagle Rock  5 Star Rating - World class

I love this place. The people who work there are very friendly. But more importantly, the food is amazing. All of the baked goods are made there and they are fabulous. I personally love the french toast. There actually isn't a better place to get french toast anywhere. The place is very pretty and they've expanded and re-painted it in very nice colors. They're even doing a little shop where you can buy gifts and other little kitchen things as well. This is really my favorite breakfast place in all of Los Angles. Oh yeah, the coffee is fabulous!

PROS: the best french toast
