Its hard to beat a delicious milkshake after a full day on the slopes. This place is just about 45 mins outside of tahoe and well worth the wait for dinner. I'm a vegetarian I even thought the burgers looked delicious! The garden burger was very good, but the milkshake was perfect.

With all due respect to the other reviewers here - I think they are wrong. I stopped here on the way back from Tahoe Friday night and had the most amazing mushroom burger I've ever had. Now maybe my love for this culinary delight was enhanced by a day of exhausting skiing and nothing but granola bars and ski lodge food - but I really think it's more than that. First, there were two burger patties on kind of an italian bread roll. Second, the mushrooms were sauteed in carmelized onions which gave the whole thing a juicy sweet taste that blows other burgers out of the water. It rocked. Yes it's a few more dollars than In-N-Out, but the food is remarkably better. Also tried out a piece of their homemade blueberry pie which also rocked. Yes it's a touristy place, but locals eat there too. It's nice to find a fast(ish) food place that decides to use great ingredients and proper cooking methods so that you don't later feel that the food eats you. I'm a big fan of Ikeda.

I had heard that the burgers were the best around but did not find that to be the case personally.
Like the idea of the organic fruit and veggie stand but haven't bought anything there yet.
Interior had no charm whatsoever.
I won't be going back.

My review for the Fruit Stand is 5 stars
My review for the Burgers is 1 star
Overall, we give them 3 stars for value.... because you can buy similar goods at Trader Joe's for a lot less. They seem to get top dollar for their wares because their clientele are from the San Francisco Bay area and those people are used to paying high prices for everythings. We Auburn locals tend to avoid the touristy places, but will still go to Ikeda's for fresh corn in the summer. We'll go there on Mondays thru Thursdays to avoid the tourist rush.

Overpriced and dirty tourist trap.

Bay Area skiiers seem to love this place.....probably because they don't know better.

They hire illegal alien workers and pay them peanuts.

No trip to the North Shore would be complete without a stop at Ikeda's for either some grub or their amazing fruit pies! Stop here (across the highway from the In N Out) for farm fresh produce and snacks, as well as baked goods! They have homemade everything, from cupcakes to tamales! The only drawback is sometimes it gets crowded over big weekends. However, due to the opening of the In N Out, less people stop by, making it a great pit stop and treat destination!
