4 Stars: Come and sit a bit (by Andy F.)

Open from 630am-midnight, this caff across the street from the UC Berkeley campus is heavily patronized by students and faculty. Offering limited indoor seating, many customers enjoy their purchase under the gazebo or in the shaded patio. Mornings often seen folks stopping to pick up their daily coffee and bagel. In afternoons, the tables are often filled with groups in discussion and folks sitting and partaking of the sunshine and view. As the evening chills, propane burners are turned on to warm the outdoor patrons and fight off the evening chill.

To those stupefied by the beverage options, I strongly suggest enjoying a Strada Bianca (the cafs trademark beverage) with Amaretto syrup.

PROS: Open 'til midnight, shaded patio tables
CONS: sometimes hard to find a table

5 Stars: Great coffee (by Sarah L.)

Caffe Strada has the best white chocolate mochas (I miss them!) This is a great coffee place and it is a lot cheaper than any other place in Berkeley. It can get very crowded in the ordering area. It is a great place to sit outside in nice weather and the people watchjing is great. They also have good pastries. I can not speak for any other coffee drink, as I stick with the best.

4 Stars: If you like cafes with both indoor and outdoor seating, look here (by Tornado W.)

Cafe Strada has been a staple of the Berkeley campus for quite some time now. You will often find UC Berkeley student studying here or just meeting up with friends as the campus is just right across the street.

It has both indoor and outdoor seating (with heat lamps if it gets cold). and it is open seven days a week from 6:30am to midnight. I recommend the White Mocha (mocha bianca). It's the best white mocha I've tasted in a cafe. And it's especially good when it's cold outside.

The service there is swift and they also have pastry items too. Their prices arte quite reasonable and the coffee itself is rather highly rated for the price, and highly rated in general. give it a try if you want to see what all the fuss is about. Most people who got to UC Berkeley will know of Cafe Strada.

PROS: Good coffee, good prices, good pastries. Open late.
CONS:

5 Stars: the best and cheapest latte (by Martin I.)

you may find the staff a little unfriendly ... but these guys simply make ten times more espressos a day than the average barista. if you come a few times and order in spanish you'll make friends quickly and they'll know which type of coffee drink you will have. at $2.25 for a gigantic latte their prices are unbeatable.

please ... order "for here" and avoid using paper cups.

5 Stars: Very comfortable (by Timothy J.)

I like this business because it allows you to sit in a comfortable atmosphere outside and watch people walk by as you drink coffee. This place is about the same price as others, the specialize in providing a great place to study for students. I would reccomend it. It's drawback is that it can get dark later at night, and the inside atmosphere is not as great as the outside.

PROS: atmosphere
CONS: lighting
