you're not going to have a soul-inspiring experience at ambala dhaba, but you will be more than satisfied. they are famous for their ludhiana chicken. it is good. the restaurant has an unpretentious atmosphere. can it get a little loud? yes, but i think that's just part of it.
have i had better indian food? yes. was i ever disappointed by ambala dhaba? no.

I have never been to the Indian Subcontinent, so I can't vouch for authenticity. But I can say that Ambala Dhaba is hands-down one of the best Indian restaurants in LA. The prices have gone up dramatically over the six years I've been

Pros: Great & unusual Indian food, friendly service, good value for money, outdoor patio
Cons: Street parking only
Not sure why people trash the place for charging extra for white meat. I personally like to have the option. And I do recognize that white meat is more expensive.\r

Really crappy food, extremely expensive for no apparent reason. I ordered dinner and they threw in all these extra charges without warning.

Well oiled machine to lighten your wallet for the crime of trying Indian food. Hope nobody comes here to try Indian food and make his/her opinion about it for the first time. There's abnormal focus on decor/theme. Apparently the theme has

Cons: Price, Quality, Attitude
I love Indian food, so it's important that I find a good one here to go to. Luckily, I know an Indian friend who has lived here longer than I have. She recommended this place, and so we went together. The food was mouth watering. The

Pros: Great food, nice atmosphere
Cons: hard to find parking
We got to Ambala at 10pm the restraint is open until 11. We were hungry so we ordered our food quickly. About 2 minutes after the waiter brought our food, before we even started eating, he came back with the check and told us the kitchen

Pros: Good use of capitilization on menu
Cons: Expensive, small portions, unbelivably rude service
I used to come to this restaurant three times a week when it first opened. Now, I guess the owners and the decor have changed multiple times and it's just not as good anymore. The prices are the same, but what you get is much less. They

Me and my wife were very glad to find a new indian restaurant that we liked in our area, after eating at several mediocre places. After trying many of the dishes, we now usually order one of the goat entrees, which are excellent (and not

Pros: great goat dishes
This is a great casual place for great Indian food. My meal was really flavorful, spicy, and the service was great. The waiter was great helping my friend and I decide on our dishes. He was right on the money!

This restaurant is one of the cuter places on Westwood Blvd. It is very well decorated and is one of the nicer Indian restaurants around on the westside in terms of atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food is at best very mediocre and pricey

I like the ambala dhaba. My friend david is going to build a shine to worship ambala dhaba. And we're going to practice tantra in ambala dhaba. Because it is good. Mmkay\r

Ambala Dhaba has a nice straw hut themed interior (it will make sense when you see it), nice wrought-iron tables (and some booths, I think), and lowish lighting with candles on the tables, making it a nice place to take a date, especially if you are a college student on a budget at UCLA. The downside is that the portions are on the small side, rice costs extra, and the food isn't that impressive. If you are not a hard-core Indian food junkie like me though, you will probably be quite satisfied with the food. The restaurant can be noisy at times because they use a blender to make certain drinks.

This is (or was) our favorite place for true northern Indian "Punjabi" delicacy, it is original in taste but lacking quantity - big time! The price had also gone up the roof since the last time we returned! No more free Naan or Rice and

Pros: true Indian (Punjab), rare items, extensive menu
Cons: huge price increase, parking, closed (day) Mon-Thur
I've been to a lot of Indian places but none of them compare to this place. The food is absolutely delicious (really like homestyle), and although the service can be a little slow when they're busy, you get what you pay for - great food

Although located in a sort-of strip mall, this place serves the BEST Indian food I have had yet in LA. The chili-garlic naan is spicy and amazingly good with the food, which is always flavorful. THe service can be a bit slow when its busy,

What an incredible value!!! The lunch specials they offer here are incredible. They're generously proportioned, delicious, and unbelievably inexpensive. At around $5/plate for a complete meal, they are simply an unbeatable value. AND,
