Kids Come First Preschool

This may be the preschool for your child if your budget is very limited, and if you don't have high expectations. I find the hours very flexible, and the teacher (& assistant) very friendly. I also like that the boys' & girls' restrooms are separate. However, the adult child ratio is about 1:8 on average in the afternoons.

I don't particularly like the teaching method. An example would be that for art projects, the teacher actually goes around the table and "helps" each child finish the project, instead of allowing the child to express his talents freely. Each piece of art that my child brought home was obviously done by an adult.

The equipments in the school are mostly worn out. At least half of the toy structures in the play yard are broken, and are just sitting there collecting dust. It seems that the school doesn't bother replacing or cleaning them. This makes me wonder if the children are actually allowed to play outside at all. Some of the plastic chairs in the classroom are very shaky and not safe. I saw the kids flipping over from the chairs several times.

Lots of improvements are definitely needed!

My neighbor took her daughter to Kids Come First Pre School & Day Care and was extremely happy with daily activites and attention to detail. Her daughter really blossomed there and got interested in art and music!
