Beau and Gary have always given me clear explanations of what service did and didn't need doing. Maybe that's because I'm a guy, but maybe not. This shop is also one of the few that my wife--who generally thinks that *all* mechanics talk down to her--doesn't complain about.

Two incidents. Very early on, before we knew them or the shop well, they advised us against an expensive repair to my father-in-law's older Lincoln. It was more expensive, Gary more or less said, than the car would be worth after the repair. That was a first for me. Total cost for the inspection and advice: $0.00. Several years later, my wife had her oil changed at a bargain place, they said she needed immediate brake repair. We took it to S&S, told them what the other shop had said and wanted an estimate for the repair. Beau said that there was plenty of pad left...and to come back in six months or so.

We've never had to return to have a repair reworked, so I don't have the experience that Alice complained about. Even when I had taken a cheaper route than S&S recommended, I always knew what the risks were.

This is the worst place you could go to get your car worked on. I took my jeep in to there shop to get my muffler and tail pipe fixed(the tail pipe had rusted off the muffler, so the muffler was hanging). Bo(S&S Auto manager/owner) failed to tell me that they dont even do and welding in his shop, so without my knowlege Bo sent it to Laguna Muffler. When i got my car back there was a new muffler on it but no new tail pipe, but on my receipt it said "muffler and pipe $150". Bo tried to tell me that "pipe" ment the 3" cupling(metal tube) they had welded over my rusted tail pipe to conect it to my muffler. Now 8 months later my tail pipe has broken(because of rust) 3/4 of the way through again right above where they had welded it. I am now in the process of trying to deal with men who talk to women like their idiots who dont know jack about cars to try and fix something they messed up and already charged me for . So in short NEVER GO TO S & S AUTO, THEY WILL TRY AND FU( K YOU OVER. and for every other female who can handle her own life if you dont want to be talked to and treated like sh!t dont go to S&S Auto
