My boyfriend order sushi from Mikado regularly. The quality is good, the prices are reasonable and they have always been reliable.
Not something we can afford to do all the time, but definitely a great treat once or twice a month.

Mikado Sushi in San Francisco is a great restaurant for a quiet meal in the city. The restaurant is small and it was not crowded, the interior has a modern feel to it, the service was good, and the food was great. The price of the food was very affordable and you get a lot for a reasonable price. It came out to be able $12 a person including tax.

I often stop by Mikado after working out (24-Hour Fitness is right across the street) for their happy hour (half off drinks, selected rolls for $2 and appetizers for $3) and I have yet to be disappointed. The happy hour deals are fantastic and the food is delicious, particularly the ebi kabob-type appetizer. I always feel welcome and never rushed by the staff. Easy to get to on the 27 bus line, too.
Pros: happy hour, friendly staff, ambiance
Cons: would be hard to go with a large group
We live literally a few blocks away so I am a little biased, but the sushi is truly to die for!
The sushi is pretty good too. I also like the decorations inside. It's super cool.

Try the "Half moon bay" special role that is not on the menu but one of the best
I recently became handicapped and am no longer able to go out exploring restaurants, so I've had to rely on delivery services to get a lot of meals I would have eaten out, There aren't very many sushi places that deliver. and I'm kind of picky about where I eat my raw fish. I like to see it. It was with some trepidation that I placed my first sushi delivery order with Mikado . I was delighted with the sushi, very fresh, I could tell it had just been made, and the sashimi tasted like the fish had just been caught , moist , tender ,delish! I've tried a few other sushi deliveries but none come close to Mikado, Someone mentioned that Mikado is hidden, and this must be the case as I've been by the corner of 16th and Bryant several times and have yet to see where it is. If you don't want to or can't go out for your sushi, Mikado is a great choice for delivery,
Pros: Great fast delivery sushi
Cons: Haven't actually been there so I can't evaluate service
Really great food! warm and nice. Not too crouded. I've been here few times and will come back again! Their food is worth to drive so far!
I ordered food for pick up and the bill was $20.55 which I paid with a card. $24.66 was then charged to my card (I presume they added a tip for themselves despite the fact that it was a pick-up) and they informed me that they didn't have time to work it out with me. I even brought the receipt to them and was told they were too busy to deal with it and that i would have to come back to work it out. I find their request that I further inconvenience myself despite the fact that they stole from me to be upsetting. The food is ok. My salmon had been sitting out a little (it had darkened and started to dry) but it tasted fine.
this is the place to go.
lovely staffs great sushi fresh and creative i loved it
there is nothing else to say
you have to try it yourself
Pros: service parking
This is my favorite restaurant. Everyone here is friendly and really accommodating. My family and I love this place. The sushi is so fresh and the prices aren't bad either. we take all of our friends to this place.
Pros: service
This is my favorite restaurant! The food here is great and the pricese aren't bad either! The waitresses are friendly, nice, and really accommodating. When it isn't busy, the waitresses let my boyfriend and I sit in these big booths. We're really picky, so most waiting staff at other restaurants give us "the look" when we make special requests. The waiting staff here have always been so great to us! They're so nice! The sushi is always so fresh and yummy! My family and I love this place!
The food here is pretty good, it's your normal casual sushi restaurant. It was the service on my second visit that made me vow to never return. I went with a group of six and we could barely have a conversation because the waitress interrupted us every 2 minutes. She would ask if we wanted more water or if she could take an empty plate instead of just taking the plate or refilling the water. Seriously, it was way too much face time. This was worse: One waiter spilled an entire big bottle of beer on our table and got four people wet. It went all over the table and bench and it wet the entire butt of one friend's pants. We were very understanding and nice about it. They told us they'd comp the beer. But when the check came, it wasn't comped. It was only $6 or so, but it bothered us that they said it would be comped --- like any good restaurant would -- and then didn't. When we asked the waitress about it, she said she meant she replaced the beer she spilled, but couldn't take comp us the replacement because of the accident. We had thought, of course, we shouldn't pay for the beer you showered us in. The whole experience was extremeley frustrating, everyone left tense and annoyed.
Pros: not crowded
Cons: inexperienced wait staff
I love this sushi place...My family and bf love this place. They have great fresh sushi, the best squid salad, good light tempura. Mikaido has great spicy tuna rolls and rainbow rolls. The sashimi is always fresh and the cuts are pretty generous. Oh, and for appetizers, we love the deep fried blue crab! Prompt seating, never a wait! There is always room (My bf and I feel like its the last hidden sushi place in SF). On friday nights, they play cool music. If you bring a party of four or more you can sit in these secluded booths (complete with curtains). They have two booths, but they allow couples to sit there some time. My favorite thing is that you can pick three items for a cheap price- 13 dollars! this can be sushi, sashimi and a hot entree. Great friendly waitresses!
Pros: great food, Service, easy to find parking
Cons: miso soup too salty
There are nights where I want to get some good sushi for lunch or after work. But I dont want to fight the crowds or pay an arm and a leg for some sushi. The staff knows your name, give attentive service, and have some of the best sushi and tonkatsu in town. Its a bit hidden, but i like it that way.
Pros: price, service, food
Cons: hidden
