We go here for special occasions. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional. It is a also great place to go after a walk in Nisene Marks State Park.

I broulght my famliy to santa cruz for vacation and found a real treat the bayview is a historic landmark
built in 1870 just standing in the builing you can feel the history. the food was great and cristina the
owner / Innkeeper was very hositable and great to the kids. they had a wood fire pizza oven imported form italy in a beautiful european garden. they had jazz band for for me and mom on the weekends.It truly was a wounderful trip for the hole famliy
Pros: lost of history and a great staff
We frequented this restaurant when we were engaged and the food was always great. The staff is friendly, but the owners are scattered. DO NOT plan an event at this locale. We had our wedding reception here and there were MANY things that went awry. First and foremost our deposit was lost. I should have seen this as a sign to move on--I had to bring a copy of the canceled check to prove that we had paid. We had to redo the table seating for the guests at the last minute because the owner did not actually have the tables she promised (said she had 10 person tables and ended up having a smattering of odd numbered tables round and rectangular). The day of the wedding they were not prepared and were running around like crazy people. Lastly and most importantly, they did not feed a whole table of our guests or our DJ and photographer (whom we paid for per head in addition to the guests). The table were relatives so they did not want to upset my husband and I. When they asked where their food was the owner simply said the food was gone and there was no more!! They have a full kitchen and as this was THEIR error they should have gone into the kitchen to make more! Also we had 3 guests not show so food quantity should not have been an issue. The owner acted like none of this happened and did not even apologize for not feeding a table of 9 and two vendors!! Overall, BAD service and they treat their wait-staff horribly. Good for a nice dinner out...head my warning and do not plan an event at this location!!
