Designer's Tailoring

If you need a clothing repair or alteration done quickly and reliably, this is the place to come. I take all sorts of things to these guys -- from my espadrilles that have come unsewn, to my new dress that's a size to big -- to my ultimate favorite old cargo shorts that keep wearing out and needing patches. (These guys understand that not all jobs are glamorous, and they don't hold it against you.)

On the one or two rare occasions when I felt like the work this tailor did was not up to par, I brought it back. Once, it was months after the fact -- it took me a while to get around to it. The lady at the counter redid it, no charge, and no questions asked. They stand by their work.

Prices are extremely reasonable for Palo Alto. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, but it's well worth it if you can get past it.

PROS: Great service, good prices, and they stand by their workmanship.
CONS: Yucky atmosphere.
