Lunch specials
An LA restaurant since 1989, we serve moderately priced Thai dishes with California and Pacific Rim accents. Our restaurant is upscale and casual at the same to create a dining experience for everyone. Patrons from all over come for our menu, which features dishes like satay beef, egg rolls, chicken curries, spicy wontons and tom yum--a popular hot and sour lemon grass soup.
I've ordered Pink Pepper many times and the delivery is always fast and the food is amazing!! The staff doesn't come off as friendly but the food and all the flavors make up the lack of customer service!

The outdoor seating area was very good with warm heaters. The food itself was pretty good but not outstanding. Prices were a bit on the pricey side but not too bad.

If you like food on the salty side, this is your kind of place. Unfortunately, I'm not one of you. Some compliments though to the establishment: nice atmosphere (intimate, yet spacious) and outdoor patio is warm as a result of a well-functioning heater. Overall, probably a good place for locals, but nothing to drive for.
PROS: Nice outdoor patio
CONS: Salty food

Pink Pepper has been remodeled very recently. Still the same delicious Thai food -- and now an even nicer ambiance. It's very nice for Saturday night romantic dinner for 2. Fun for more people, too, because they serve family style and you can try more dishes that way. Service is good. Thai iced tea is very refreshing. Free parking in next door structure with validation.
PROS: Great Food and Romantic Ambiance
CONS: None

INSECT IN THE FOOD
By vtunkel
My friend found a cooked ROLY-POLY (a small INSECT that rolls up into a ball) at the bottom of his spicy noodle dish. When he POLITELY and discretely pointed this out to one of the staff, the person took his dish in back, threw out the roly-poly, and brought the dish back out, now insect-free.
They then tried to convince my friend that what he saw on his plate was in fact a piece of "Thai spice". When my friend asked them to show him the spice in question, the staff brought out random green basil buds and another unidentifiable piece of black gunk. When the manager came out, rather than acknowledging and apologizing for their mistake, he VERY rudely insisted that there was never an insect in the first place.
After being confronted repeatedly, the manager then accused us of trying to get free food, although my boyfriend and I have eaten there frequently and have even ordered delivery to our apartment. I ended up paying for half of our bill, even though I did not finish most of my food out of disgust. A simple apology from the manager would have gone a long way towards me coming back there again. Guess who just lost a regular customer! Worst customer service I have ever had in my life. Eat here at your own risk!
Pros: Great tasting food Cons: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

Very bad customer service, not family friendly
By fserra
I had been to the Pink Pepper about 4 years ago and remember that it was really good food. I was driving from Pasadena back to Santa Monica and tried to find it... after a little bit of navigating I found myself at the restaurant. I was so excited becuase I was really hungry, and so was my 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter. We cook at home a lot so they were really excited for this special treat! I got them out of the car and we walked over to the place... which with a 1 year old takes a bit of effort! When we walked in I was really shocked that they had no high chairs or a booster seat for my daughter. I talked to the waitress and she said that she has been asking her manager for some sort of seat for children for a long time. We tried to sit in a booth, but my daughter wouldn't sit down. She started to climb on the table so thats when I asked the waitress if she had anything for my little girl to sit in. She went into the back to talk to the manager. I saw the guy she was talking to. He walked out a moment later and I asked if him if he was the manager and he said no (which I thought was really strange). I told him that we couldn't eat there becuase it would be too hard with my daughter. So he pulled the menu's out of my hand really rudely. (He didn't even offer us anything to go) If my poor little munchkins weren't so excited to eat there or if I had brought a few more snacks for the car we would have walked out then and there... but we were all so hungry so I asked if we could get something to go. He was so rude and told us to order with a waitress and just walked away.
I'll never eat there again. Really bad customer service and obviously not family friendly.
Just because you have children doesn't mean that you should be treated any differently then anyone else going out for a meal, including having a proper chair to sit in!
The food just didn't taste very good after that whole ordeal!
Pros: validated parking Cons: Really bad customer service, not family friendly

Best PAD THAI ever
By cgriffeth
Hands down, the best pad thai I've ever had -- I cannot eat it anywhere else. Their Crying Tiger, chicken curry, and Pad Prik King (spelling?) with beef is delicious. The only problem is sometimes they are slightly inconsistent with regards to how spicy they make the food or how well done the beef is. Such a minor thing though because they are very nice and give NO push back if you want to send a dish back. They deliver too.
Pros: Everything (food, atmosphere, service, parking validation, etc.) Cons: Slightly inconsistent in cooking, but they don't mind at all if you send it back

Hidden gem
By abesserman
There is a massive apartment building currently under construction across the street from Pink Pepper, and when I saw them break ground nearly a year ago, my first thought was, "Pink Pepper is finally gonna get the business they deserve."
The menu has range, and everything I've had on it is among the best I've had in LA. The decor is classy and hip, rivaling the better known Buddha's Belly. The staff is always friendly and sure to provide quick and pleasant service. All things considered, I'm amazed that this is also among the most inexpensive thai dining in town. It continues to bewilder me, and break my heart, that every time I go, which is quite often, the restaurant is under 50% capacity. I couldn't recommend Pink Pepper enough, for either a evening date an afternoon lunch or just take out.
A personal favorite are the dynamite wings - a very spicy yet tangy thai buffalo wing.
Pros: Best value in town Cons: Not as busy as it deserves to be

best thai i've ever had.
By janedoe597
after discovering this little gem i'll never eat thai anywhere else ever again. their red curry is amazing and you can order it as spicy as you'd like. the pad thai is great (i would have put a dump in mscme's food instead of a toothpick for being a little b:tch) and so are the short ribs. the best ambiance ever, and the best service i've had which has been a total breath of fresh air from all the pr:cks we've dealt with lately in food service. this place should take rambutan's spot in the top ten.
Pros: tasty food, amazing service, validated parking, great location, friendly employees, fantastic ambiance. Cons: people who complain about this place (because they're wrong).
