Redwood Day School

by aniaf f. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,366

When I was reaseraching day schools in my area when i lived on the east bay, this school attracted me because of their giving programs. They do a lot of fundraising and set up lots of funds for the needy. I chose a different school because of academics but i thought this school was great.

Redwood Day School

by Anonymous

I love teacher Betty. She has music circle twice a week, encourages art, and I understand sometimes takes the children to outside activities (such as a trip to the library), although I don't think she has done it recently. She is welcoming and allows for parents to linger a bit in the mornings when dropping off their kids, if they feel is needed.

Good K-8 School

by Jennifer I. | insider Insider | Rank: 15,564

Redwood Day School is a pretty good sized private school located near the Dimond district of Oakland. They're a non-denomiational school and their empahsis is project-based learning. Even though this is a K-8 school, the lower grades, K-5 are where it's at. Most classes in K-5 are smaller and have a teacher and an intern teacher, so the student teacher ratio is better than middle school.
