4 Stars: "Fisheatable" (by ShaRon V.)

A delightful rating! ( -: Having a taste for fish, some family members and myself, were visiting family living in Pasadena. So, we asked where we could go and get some. Well we were told, without any flourish, to try the Fishery. So we did. Upon arrival we found the parking to be a little tedious, very tight. However, it was on the lot, right at the location. Stepping inside, we found the interior was "shabbily UN-chic" with sparse wooden [teetering] table seating, odd hollow cabinets, unadorned and almost UN-inviting. Just what we were looking for! A sort of "hole-in-the-wall" place, the kind with a few patrons waiting around! ( -:Looking at the somewhat confusing menu, prices were "pocket friendly" offering "cooked for you" fish, or you could get it fresh to take home, ...we finally figured out what we wanted. I ordered a fried Snapper w/Shrimp Combo Dinner and we shared "nibbles" all around of a surprisingly great seasoned fried Chicken/Lunch, Catfish Dinner, sides of potato salad, accompanied with a palatable tartar sauce, and a slice of "wheat" bread! Everything was fresh and flavorful, [the shrimp]delicately crisp, tasty treats. It was a thoroughly enjoyable [fun] experience. Given that we decided to eat there the, "it's-ready-at-the-counter come-an' get-it", service was quick, efficient, and rendered with a smile. That is, unless we just got back what we gave, as we are a "smiling", loving, bunch! WARNING/Note: (ask for or) bring lots of Handy Wipes or something though, because the ladies room was a "dirty disaster!" BUT...grab your best polls/-terrs and go fishing for yourself...at the "Fishery!" ( -:

3 Stars: Who knew pasadena had great places to eat? (by Tim H.)

The Fishery features fresh fish and seafood, cooked and served Southern style. They also have great sides like yams and red beans. The great thing about this place though is the atmosphere. It really is low-key and a great change of pace. I try to stop by when i'm in Pasadena.

PROS: Relaxed environment, laid back people.
CONS: Sometimes it's hard to choose from the stuff on the menu.
