AIA is simply the best. Great instructors, helpful consultants and over 20 years of helping actors navigate this tough industry. A wonderful welcome for newbies who've just landed in LALALand and perfect for the experienced actor who wants that extra edge. I don't know where I'd be without them!

Honestly, I think it is all BS. The ONLY actors that benefit from the workshops they offer at AIA are the STAFF because THEY are actors as well. It is all designed to take an actors money. The consultants don't know anything about anything. I think it is complete BS.

AIA Actors Studio is one of the best kept secrets in Los Angeles. Admittedly, I was kind of leery of them at first, but after a couple weeks, I totally knew I??d hit a jackpot.

You get to meet with real agents, managers, casting directors, producers, etc. in small classroom type environment and get to ask them anything you want, perform for them and have them give you feed back. Most of them are currently looking for some type of actor either to represent or cast in something. They also have great classes taught by industry professionals too. Definitely worth joining up.

This place will have legitimate casting directors and other industry people come for showcases and "workshops" but AIA rips you off cost wise. There are far too many other places who bring in the same people for a 1/4 of what you might pay at AIA. AIA is run by folks who prey on newbies to the industry. They lock you into big contracts for big money -- then you don't go elsewhere because you have locked yourself in. All their staff gets paid on commission, so selling you is their goal.

If you are new to the town, be smart. Enroll in a solid acting program for no more than $200/month with a teacher who really cares about you and your progress. Make sure the class size is no more than 12 students and that you get to work each time. Once you have learned how to act and can also be mentored by this same instructor in terms of the business, then go find some additional workshop places like Actors Group, Signature Studios, Actors Key, or others that you have to audition for. You can market yourself then to select casting directors and agents -- but not be ripped off.

They have great classes and workishops with casting directors, agents, managers, and commercial agents. Classes usually last about a month and prices are around $150-$240. Acting jobs and or representation are not are not guaranteed from taking any of these workshops but definitely good to get in front of them.
