Honestly, look at the recent four "glowing" 5-star reviews on this page. All are in perfect order on 9/23, 9/24, 9/25, and 9/26. Three in a row apparently have a last name that starts with the letter "S" (its possible but odds are against it). An obvious attempt to cover up the genuine, though honest, reviews. Enough Said.

Dr. Ron and his staff are very professional. Sounds like most the negative comments have come from people who have failed to pay their bills or expected free service (and it's obvious that they're most likely coming from rescue groups), and /or didn't ask enough questions. The mistake some of them have made is that they have failed to get all the information upfront. Of course, medical care for your pets is expensive, no matter where you go. I suggest you do your homework first and ask questions before leaving your pet with any vet. If you don't like the answer, you have choices. Just use another vet and get on with your lives. Quit making yourselves miserable and quit trying to make others feel the same. Life is too short. Personally, I've had excellent results over the years using Dr. Ron and I'd highly recommend him and his hospital to my friends.

Dr. Ron is an incredible doctor. We have taken our animals to him for years now and I don't know of a more knowledgeable, kind, compassionate vet in Simi Valley. When our rabbit wasn't feeling well, he spent an inordinate amount of time with her, prescribed medication and called the next day to see how she was feeling! When you bring your animal to Dr. Ron, it's as if your pet is the only one that exists. I have referred and will continue to refer friends and family to Dr. Ron. Truly, if you want the best care for your pet, take him/her to Dr. Ron.

I was employed in the animal health care industry for 13 years. I loved the time I spent working in a small and exotic animal hospital. I can recognize a good or bad vet a mile away. I used to live in Simi Valley, but am now over 50 miles away. There are MANY vets in my area. So, last week when my most beloved cat, Max, was near the end of his life, it was a no-brainer for me to make the trip to Dr. Ron's. Dr. Ron is a brilliant doctor and a compassionate human being. I have known him for over 10 years and consider myself (and more so my pets) extremely lucky to have him as my vet.

Dr, Ron is the greatest. He donates his time to so many great causes within SV. He is in numerous organizations, making SV a great community. He donated the most incredible Shihtzu, that we bought at a live auction for the SVEFB. For the last two yrs, he has taken care of Bentley and never charged us any money.I have referred many people To Dr. Ron, who are struggling in today's time, and Dr Ron finds ways for people to afford surgeries for their pets.Without Dr. Ron, their would be hundred's of pets who would not be getting the proper care that they deserve.Simi Valley is completely grateful for Dr. Ron's care.Thanking You Dr Ron,
Herschel B

Dr Ron's is horrible. I take 6 animals to them and my cat got sick and had a fever of 104 and blisters in her mouth and tongue. $565 later they said she had a stone in her bladder and needed surgery. They sent me home with a deathly sick cat that needed over night care, but they don't keep animals over nigh. I call the next morning to talk over options and the Dr Ron is off and he would not call me and they said the Doctor on staff that day was to busy. I tell them that I didn't have the money and needed help financially. (This cat has food allergies and cant eat anything else but special food.) Since I didn't have the money for the surgery the nurse told me that I can try changing her food. Ya right she has blisters all in her mouth and cat eat or drink. When I make the decision to put her to sleep because they said she would have heart issues after and the stones would come back if the food is not changed. They questioned my decision several times and made me feel like I was doing the wrong thing. ALL they wanted was my MONEY!!!!!! They had the nerve to charge me for dehydrating her for the day ($54) and $150 to put her to sleep. All they could talk about is when I am going to pay. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS just MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! All said and done I spent almost $800 and now I have a dead cat.

I found this site several weeks ago and have wanted to write a review but I was so devastated about what happened to my young dog that I couldn't even think about it until now.
I took my puppy in to Dr. Ron to be spayed. I dropped her in the morning and was told I could pick her up that evening. Around 1:00 pm I got a phone call saying my dog was in surgery but her heart had stopped and did I want to come to the hospital to see her because they didn't think they would be able to save her. I drove there quickly and was taken into the surgery room where one of the nurses was trying to put a catheter into my dogs front leg. Dr. Ron had cut open her chest and was trying to massage her heart but said he didn't think there was any point because he didn't think he could get her back. I was absolutely stunned because she was just a puppy and I hadn't anticipated any problems. After she died I walked out in disbelief. You can imagine my devastation when I heard one nurse whisper to another "We told him not to do the surgery this morning because her gums were gray but he said knock her out anyway" He singlehandedly killed my puppy. Even the nurses knew she was in danger. This guy should have his license pulled. He shouldn't be allowed to touch any living creature. He killed my dog

I was watching my friends puppy while he was out of town. I noticed that the puppy was sleeping more that usual and picked it up. When I realized the puppy was having difficulty breathing I immediately rushed to the nearest vet (Dr. Ron's). The front office staff kept me waiting for several minutes having me fill out sheet after sheet of paperwork even thought it was obvious the puppy was now gasping for air. Finally I was put in a room where one of the technicians came in to ask about the condition of the puppy. Upon seeing the puppy the technician immediately left the room and called for the doctor. I heard him say, "I'll see the dog when a release is signed and he leaves a deposit." I heard the technician say the puppy was in critical condition but the Dr. just repeated that a deposit was needed. The technician came back to my room to look at the puppy again. At his point the puppy was limp and had lost control of his bladder. The technician left quickly and, this time, demanded that "Dr. Ron" come immediately. He came to the room and looked at the puppy, did a few chest compressions and said he was sorry the puppy was dead. He is a horrible man and is a danger as a vet. He did not care one bit about that dying puppy - only that he got his money.

They took me to collections for $26.00! They charged me for sending my dogs stool sample to a lab, when CLEARLY she had worms and was given medication for it. I never authorized the fee & they just decided after I left & paid my bill that they would send me a bill afterwards. The collections company dropped it and cleared my name, because I was not wrong. But, I will never go back to them because of that.

A year ago i had my dog spayed she did fine. They called to check on her the day after. When i called they took the time to answer my questions. Now I'm taking my other dog in to be neutered. I will let you all know how it gos. As for him giving puppies bought from pet stores free shots. If they come from puppy mills they woulds need to have some one care for them who cares about dogs. Not all pet stores get there puppies from puppy mills.

Dr. Ron is an excellent veternarian.
I had a problem with my puppy not being able to get rid of giardia after several rounds of prescribed medicines. I took her to see Dr. Ron and he took the time to consider the history of the problem, the previous medications that had been prescribed and formulated a technique of administering the medicines that took care of her problem.
I have since used Dr. Ron to have my puppy sprayed and I was very pleased with every aspect of the process. The girls at the front desk were very pleasant and went through all the details and costs with me. My puppy was ready at the projected time, and the next day they called and asked how she was recovering. They were truely caring and efficient.
I will continue to bring my animals to see Dr. Ron and I highly recommend them to anyone.

I have been going to Dr. Ron for 10+ years for all my animals. He saved my puppy after having a bad Neuter at another animal clinic. He is very fair with what he charges and I am always happy and relieved of the outcome. I can't thank Dr. Ron and his team of professionals enough for all they have done over the years.

This guy is a nut! He may be licensed to give a Bear a root canal but he should never work with domestic pets.
These people just want money and could care less about their patients. Doctor Ron is a Disgrace to the word Veterinarian

After being billed for an appointment I did not miss and having my bill immediately sent to a collection agency, I proceeded to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the District Attorney. Dr. Ron's office sent TWO different letters in the same envelope to the D.A. The first letter was full of false allegations, the second letter removed the allegations. Dr. Ron's closing statement sums it all up:
"If possible it would be best to charge her some fee either to you or to us for our additional time dealing with this to help send a message to stop behavior of people who feel if they complain enough they will get their way."
Apparently Dr. Ron thinks you should be fined for complaining about his poor service and shoddy business practices.
The guy is a jerk, his staff is rude, and he has shady billing practices. Do yourself a favor, pay a little more and go to a REPUTABLE vet because this guy is NOT!

This guy offers free vaccines at his clinic to anyone who purchases a dog from the "Pet Shop." In other words he is in favor of Puppy Mills, because these poor dogs in pet shops come from puppy mills. What kind of Vet would support such inhumane suffering of these poor animals?

I'm not sure why anyone would want to take their pet to this office. This Dr. Ron is completely UNAVAILABLE. I asked to speak with him and was told by the receptionist that I would be charged for him to take my call but that she could answer a health question by relaying it to the doctor and then telling me. Ridiculous!!
