You will be hardpressed to find a better ballet company in Bakersfield. Starting at age 6 girls really learn ballet technique. My daughter learned more in the first lesson than she did her entire time at another studio. This is not a place where your child will roll around on the floor 20 minutes out of the hour and show up at some recital in a cutesy outfit at the end. Girls go in stage when they earn it. If you and your child are looking for disciplined training with a loving touch Bakersfield Ballet Theatre is the place to be.

This is the premier place to train in classical ballet technique. The instructors are skilled and extremely talented in providing quality training to young dancers. They encourage dancers to excel and will not hesitate to promote a young dancer to a higher-level class based on ability rather than superficial age categories. I like that they involve the dancers in the planning of their performances rather than simply dictating to them. This allows the dancers to experience all sides of this beautiful performing art.

Bakersfield Ballet Theater is known for it's superb dance instruction from experienced instructors. They put on amazing performances that are so much more than the typical "dance recital." They really involve their students in the presentation of large-scale productions each year, and give students great skill in dance but also self-confidence and poise. They offer classes for students of all ages and will let students progress according to their abilities rather than holding them back with their peers just because they are the same age, something that is rare for dance schools as a rule. Their prices are affordable considering the quality of instruction--they have a great local reputation and are sure to impress!
