5 Stars: Unexpected (by Jennifer H.)

You wouldn't think that such great food would come from such a little place.

We were wowed from beginning to end. Entrees come with soup, salad and coffee and generally run under $20. I highly suggest ordering the Grand Marnier souffle at the beginning of your meal to ensure enough prep time for the kitchen.

Excellent service.

4 Stars: Bob and "Sunny" W. (by Bob and "Sunny" W.)

We first went to La Vie with our neighbours several years ago, after reading a "glowing" review by Merrill Schindler in the Whittier News. We found the food absolutley delicious, and the range of choices enough to satisfy any "craving" of the moment. Our own particular favorites are the Roast Duck, Rack of Lamb and Prime Rib, although the Sea food selections are equally good.

Since our first visit, we have returned numerous times, usually taking friends with us as a "special treat" when they are celebrating some special occasion. We, ourselves, celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary there with our family. Each and every time we have left feeling thoroughly and happily satisfied and well taken care of by their friendly and excellent service.

4 Stars: Open only in the night (by Kevin O.)

Food is very comparable to any French restaurant in Pasadena and service is just as good. The food here is in a word magnificent. They offer only the best quality foods here. If you feel daring try the rabbit, hey it only tastes like chicken ; ) Prices are similar to those found in Pasadena so look to spend at the least $12 per entree. Includes soup and salad and I'd suggest the Creme Brule for a desert. Let them know in advance as it takes an extra 15 minutes to prepare. If you're going to go making a reservation in advance isn't a must but it's best when any special holidays are coming up such as valentines day.

PROS: Good food and a very nice ambience
CONS: Location isn't in the ideal of areas about 0.3mi south of Garvey Blvd
