Thanks for the overnight drop box. Returned the following morning and was happy with the people I met.
5I went in to ask some questions about roof cargo vs. hitch cargo, but the guy wasn't too helpful, just shrugged his shoulders alot. Then I tried to purchase a hitch. In order to find out if they had one in stock, I was asked to give my full name and phone number. When I refused to give my phone number (didn't seem necessary to find out if a part was in stock) the guy got annoyed and didn't try and figure out a work around, just demanded my phone number. I got a little annoyed myself and told him he didn't need it to find a part. He told me to take my business elsewhere.
I try to shop locally whenever possible to keep tax dollars in the community, even when it's inconvenient. But when you get such bad service (not the first time either at this business), it makes me log onto to Amazon.

I have to agree with "M.H."'s earlier post about inefficient service. We've dealt with Pasadena U-Haul on numerous occasions and have always encountered long lines - regardless of the time of day or day of the week - and slow service. Also, I had the pleasure of hearing all about how hung-over one of the counter helpers was on my most recent visit.
PROS: I have to admit that U-Haul has everything you need to self-move
CONS:

Got a quote for buying and installing a hitch on my car. It was to be $167 installed. 3 days later when we went in for the appointment it was suddenly $253 installed. Manager said they have "new people" working here who don't understand the prices. However, the employee who did the orginal quote simply configured it in the computer to get the (correct) $167 price. I have also heard of this happening with truck rentals. Even when speaking with the manager, he refused to budge. Beware of this place, they do a dishonest business!
PROS: Location; Sunday hours
CONS: Long lines; grumpy employees; hard to rent, DISHONEST!

It was pretty good for me, probably because I had a reservation and it was early on a weekend.
4These guys are the most inefficient people on the planet. Even if you just want to buy boxes, it takes 20 minutes of waiting in line before they ring you up. If you actually want to rent a truck and have a reservation, prepare yourself for 15 minutes of waiting for their typing and running around.
