I love modern art but San Francisco Museum of Modern Art left me a little dry in the mouth. They charge a whole lot of money for very little substance. I hoped they would have more works of art from local artists but was disappointment the last time I went.

The SFMOMA has at least some exhibits that would interest people like me who are not that into art. I like the exhibit that consists of 9 videos of revolving highrise restaurants in 9 different cities. Roy DeForest's brightly colored dog painting is a classic at SFMOMA and a favorite of mine. There's an interesting section with contemporary Chinese art. Any visit to San Francisco should include a visit to this museum.

The SF Museum of Modern Art is a neat place to visit. Although I am definitely not a student of modern art, the museum is organized and collected in such a way that a normal person can appreciate the exhibits on display. The museum is well-lighted and easy to navigate good place to just check out.

I think modern art is a bit hit-or-miss, but San Franciscos MOMA is definitely a home run. The museum showcases a wide range of artists, so hopefully you can find something that you enjoy. They also offer guided tours, so you can learn more about the artwork you like (or maybe change your mind about the ones you dont).

If youre into modern paintings, wire sculptures, or video art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (or SFMOMA) is sure to be an interesting visit. There is a lot to explore at this museum, and there are lots of art exhibits that will interest and even fascinate you, even if you dont understand what they mean. If youre into seeing artsy films or attending art lectures, this is the place for you, because the museum frequently holds such events.

Although I don't usually enjoy modern art as much as the more traditional variety, I had fun exploring this museum after a traveling exhibit there featured Ansel Adam's photography. Not only was that presentation itself well done, but the rest of the museum was very clean, organized, and full of interesting displays. A fun place to spend an afternoon alone or with the family.

About the shop, it's great you can find just about anything. Funky home decor, mobiles, furniture, lamps, rugs. I really like the MOMA'S store, very artsy and funky.

The san Francisco Museum of Modern Art has a great exhibition that represent the different styles of modern art. My favorite piece was a painting called "The Woman with a Hat" painted by Henri Matisse. In the SF moma you can see paint made by Diego Rivera, Frida Kalo, Picasso, and many more. The museum is in the center of San Francisco, just a few blocks from market.

Visited the SFMOMA for the first time recently, and I was pleased with it. They had a great collection of artwork, and the museum is really big (even though it doesn't look like it from the outside). If you like modern art, don't pass up on the opportunity to visit the very lovely SFMOMA.
They also offer a student discount, so if you are a student, make sure to bring your ID!
