Carney's is a restaurant located inside of a train box car. They are known for their tasty hot dogs and other foods of that type. Carney has a cool theme and a cool vibe. It's fun to go there.

Located in an old box car, this is a taste of true old Hollywood, where it used to be. The food is good and reasonable. If you work in the area, great place to grab lunch.

Used to be a great place for burgers. Hot dogs are still okay but the last few times there the hamburger meat was paper thin and tasteless. Double cheeseburger came with one slice of cheese, I ask for another slice and they charged fifty cents more with a bad attitude to boot. The man that owned/managed(?) from a few years ago is not there. He built up a good business with good food and service. They must have sold the franchise and the new owners have gone on the cheap. I miss the place but will go elsewhere for a good hamburger.

I love this Hot Dog so much I make a trip from Thousand Oaks craving it. You must try the RED BARRON POLISH DOG. You will not be disappointed. Love it! Wish they would open up in Thousand Oaks

Pros: Best Hot Dog- The RED BARRON POLISH DOG. Casual, comfortable train seating environment

Cons: none

I went looking for a " real " Chicago Dog and what I found was a standard relish dog called a " Chciagoan ", I also tried the Carneys which is a chili dog. The hot dogs were good as regular hot dogs could be, so my search is still on .

Had a great burger and chili dog meal. Burger was bloody as hell and juicy to an insane degree. Chili dog was solid, using Hoffy dogs (the choice of all of LA's classic hot dog joints), but not great. For my money I'd stick with Chronis. Fries were great. Setting had tons of personality.

Solid B

Pros: Juiby Awesome Burgers, Unique setting

★★★★★

One sign of a good hot dog is if it snaps when you bite into it. There are many hot dog places in L.A. but only a few places do hot dogs right and Carney's is definitely one of the top hot dog places in the southland. Unlike another crowded hot dog stand, Carney's keeps their menu simple. I recommend the standard chili dog or the Chicagoan with relish, onions and mustard.

Pros: Hot Dogs and ample parking

puts pinks to shame.
no standing in line and breathing tire dust.
nice snap when bitting into the dog, delicious steamed bread.
fresh cut tomato on the Carney Dog. Chili is pleasanlty digested.
view of sunset strip, global crowd, good choice of music at an enjoyable volume makes this place hard not to choose for a meeting place, international visitors to meet LA, or viewing girls from the strip.
and above all, the staff doesnt make you feel like you should have not smiled at them, they smile back like they are earning $100/year.

Best burgers you can find in LA. Good Eats in a train atmosphere. They should have these in an amusement park or citywalk.

Pros: Good Eats Good Atmosphere

Cons: Room in a train, but that's expected

★★★★★

Owners are generally in attendance during daytime operation. This place serves the best hot dogs in LA, they even pop in your mouth seconds before the flavorfilled filling comes into your mouth. If you pile on all of the extras, you hide the flavor and pop, so the great dog will not be revealed to that eater. The hamburgers are good, but I think The Origianl Tommy's has the edge here. The french fries are great, and I love the chili as well. Haven't eaten the other dishes, but veggie and others can eat there as well. Many of the servers have been there for some time, and they are always nice to me (they have gotten to recognize my face for the obvious reason). The only negative is that the parents do not take care of their running, yelling children, which generally comes into play at lunches on Saturdays and during the summer. Eat a yellow mustered dog and enjoy yourself.

Pros: Best dogs in town

Cons: None really

★★★★★

I like this place. They have great burgers. They even have Dr Pepper and that's a huge plus for me. The french fries are great. The service is pretty fast and the railroad car decor is a lot of fun. It's also a good place to see celebrities from time to time.

Pros: Food!

★★★★★

My boyfriend and I really enjoy Carney's, whether it's afterschool or a weekend lunch. It is inexpensive and the service is very nice. The have great hotdogs (plain & New Yorker), chicken breast, fries, and yummy chocolate covered banana. The decor is average, with a relaxed atmosphere with addtl sit down area outside. They also have funny names for the different sizes on the cups. :) There are cool pictures of the history on the wall. Overall, I would defintely recommend Carney's. And, I'm not the owner, I just enjoy the place.

Pros: Price, Food, Parking

Cons: None

★★★★★

Been all around LA and this is the best stuff in town. They'll give your the thickest tomato slice in the world on your burger if you don't say otherwise. Personally, I ask for a thin tomato and it's much better. Ask for the Red-eyes split and grilled. Get chilli on everything. It'll all clog your arteries, but it's all really, really good. Be sure to check out the photos on the walls of "ancient" Venture Blvd. It's amazing what can happen in 100 years or so!

Pros: Food, Cool Train Car

Cons: Does get crowded

★★★★★

Best hamburgers, chili fries, and hot dogs in the world. Extremely crowded during the week, and the service sucks cuz they are so busy. But the food is great. There is not much to review except its really crowded (mentioned before) and the food is good.

Pros: inexpensive, parking, great food

Cons: crowded
