This is a fun place to go to! It is right in the heart of Laguna Beach... The restaurant always seems to be packed.. but its fun to go to once in awhile. It has an amazing view. If you have people in from out of town, make sure to take them here...they will be impressed!

Went for a last fun night in Laguna. Got slow sloppy service and a dirty table that was never wiped down, requested some salsa to zest up a bland quesadilla, got charged $2 for it, $9 glass of house wine. The sunset view is hidden by trees, we fled and went to the Cliffs, much better view, service, and prices!!!

We went there for our anniversary after a long walk on the beach. We got lucky to be seated right by the window overlooking the ocean, just spectacular! I am not usually big mexican food fan, but here it was amazing, a bit expensive but thats ok, it was worth it! I'm so happy we went there, even after seeing some not so good reviews. Had a really good time!

Our visit to Las Brias in Laguna Bech was great.
Service was rated at a 4.5 meaning 5 will be the max.
Food.
We started off with a fruit dish.
The fruit dish was rated at a 3.
Next you may choose soup of salad.
Both were great 4.5
next we had our main entree. Rated both at 4.7
The restuarant opens at 9 a.m
We arrived at 9:45 there were 2 tables available with ocean view. (in other words windows)
there is no need for reservations.
good thing champagne constantly comes. There is NO LIMIT.
We were there for the Sunday Brunch.

It is considered expensive cause breakfast was $80 for two.
That's considered expensive if you are us to the McDonalds & Dennys type breakfast.
If you use to the expensive high end quality..then this restaurant is "OK"

This restaurant's view is spectacular and I for one found the service to be excellent, but the food is a joke. Overwrought presentation only adds insult to the overwhelming blandness of everything on the plate. The ceviche was terrible, the sole and chicken were dry, the seafood enchiladas were downright disgusting. Honestly, I can't think of a single restaurant experience in which I've felt so completely ripped off. Maybe I'm biased, having grown up in an area full of low-key taquerias in which $6 buys an enormous and flavorful meal. If you like honest Mexican cuisine, if you like flavor, this place is not for you. Nice view, though.

This Laguna Beach treasure offers customers delicious mexican dishes to go with the stunning scene of beautiful blue waters and soft, white sand. The interior is just as beautiful as the birds-eye view of the beach, and the meals are fantastic and fresh.

If you have never been to a Sunday brunch here then you need to make a reservation and do it! The view is fantastic and the brunch menu is very good and expansive. The price is a bit high and you pay for the view and location for sure. But it is worth it!

I really love going to this place... Especially for the breakfast buffet on Saturday mornings. (On Sundays they have something different going on... but it's not the buffet.) Nothing beat a nice drive down PCH on a weekend morning. Plenty of parking which will cost you at the parking meter. I highly recommend making reservations the day before so you can walk past all the people up front and be seated like a VIP. I've never had to wait when I made a reservation. After you are seated you go to the buffet area. Grab a plate and have one of their omelet artisans create the perfect breakfast piece for you. I always throw a buck or two into the tip basket. You move on to fresh waffles, eggs benedict, sausage, fresh fruit and other treats I don't know the name of, but they are ALL GOOD. If you're lucky you'll be seated next to the window to enjoy the ocean view. With all this factored into equation you'd think it was expensive... but not at all. The breakfast is $13.95 per person ($5.95 for children under 12)... and the juices are like $2.00. Afterwards you can enjoy the ocean view from the gazebo a few yards away or enjoy a walk on the beach. I've created a lot of great memories around this place.

Pros: EXCELLENT (fill in the blank). Everything about this place is great

Cons: Having to feed the meter for parking...but is that really a con?

this place has the worst service ever. good food but the people do not care about the customer. they have volume so they don't care. when you have a reservation, they don't honor it. they served food that wasn't ordered and charged us for it. when they served the table, they reached over the guests and dropped water in the food. the absolute worst!! when we talked to them about it, they had "smug" smiles on their face...crazy. it's not the first time either...we're locals...this has happened more than once.... i guess we're the crazy ones because we went back.... :( not again. we're done.

Las Brisas has a great view of the pacific ocean. The food is good, but I think it is over priced for the quality. I guess you are paying for the location, and if you don't mind that, then go to Las Brisas. The service is friendly. The beef tamales are my favorite.

the view is fantastic at las brisas but not much can be said about the food they serve or the service. we were greeted at the door by the host and we told them that we didn't have reservations. he told us that he was very held back and would need a few minutes to seat us. it took longer than 15 mins for him to find is a table when the restaurant was CLEARLY not busy. i ordered the lobster shrimp scallop trio and found it to be very bland. the lobster was burnt. the tuna tartare was pretty good. the only thing i enjoyed was the dessert. creme brulee is always delicious.

We just went there for our anniversary, and i can say that this is the worst dining experience of my entire life.

First off, we were told it would take 20 minutes to be seated. After one hour, they took us to our window-side table. We quickly ordered because we were so hungry. It then took ONE HOUR TO GET OUR FOOD.

The worst part of this is that I told the waiter i was allergic to margarine and that I couldn't have it in my food. The waiter came back and told me that Las Brisas USES MARGARINE IN ALL THEIR SAUCES. This place charges upwards of $40 per plate and they use margarine!!! Someone tell them that trans-fats cause horrific diseases.

I ended up ordering a steak with nothing on it. When they brought the steak out, there was steak sauce on it. Why in the world would someone put steak sauce on a $35 piece of steak. It was a 12 oz. New York steak. Half of it was fat and could not be eaten. They ripped me off in that only 6 oz. of the steak were edible.

During the meal, i asked the waiter about the ingredients of the chicken littles that i ordered for my child. The waiter said they used lard! Whatever happened to good old oil?

Also, there were flys in the dining area that kept whizzing over our table. The guests next to us complained to their waiter to open a window and let the flys out.

Upon receiving our bill, i noticed that the waiter had erroneously added two additional items (worth $40) to our bill that we did not order. He removed the items after i pointed them out.

My advice, if you still need it after reading the above details of my recent misfortune at Las Brisas, is to STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

I dined at Las Brisas for the fourth time in the past few years on Thursday May 10th. I took a friend with me and we enjoyed, as I usually do, eating on the patio enjoying the view. I ordered the shrimp quesdillas, she ordered the steak tacos. Service was slow, but we were enjoying the drinks. When we finally received the food I noticed 3 small HAIRS on the plate mixed in with the food!! I asked my company what she thought they were and she said it looked like rodent hair. I immediately called the waitress over and pointed it out to her and to my amazement she said that IT WAS RODENT HAIR and that this type of things happens sometimes during the summer time. This HAPPENS SOMETIMES??? I couldn't believe my ears.

The manager came out and offered us a new meal and several different explanations, claiming because of the oils they use, the rodents tend to be very interested in "what's cooking". Needless to say...we left the restaurant and enjoyed one of many restaurants that have the same view sans the rodent hair. The tables are so close on the patio at Las Brisas that several other customers left with us after overhearing and seeing the rodent hair on our plate!

I was a regular customer to this restaurant when I was in town but now not only will I never go there...I will make sure no one I know will ever go there again either. There's too many nice restaurants in Laguna and throughout Orange County...Las Brisas better get it's rodent situation under control before they are embarrased right out of business.

We went to Sunday Brunch a couple weeks ago. I wish we had gone to the IHOP instead. It is a prix fix menu and they charge $30 per person. I got the steak and egg. The steak was tough and terrible flavor for a NY strip. And one measly egg! And the egg was over cooked. I like the fruit dish and the champagne. Also it is brunch and they did not offer very many breakfasty items. I mean you have a choice off soup or salad??? At 10am??? Yuck. If you want the view come and have a drink on the outside balcony. Just avoid the food!

Visited Laguna Beach for the first time this past January. It was just around the time when SoCal was struck with a freeze, talk about nice timing. Went here with a bunch of people. Food was okay. Heard the view was awesome at this place but too bad it was cold when I went. We had the brunch buffet w/ champagne. It was nice... I fish (I forgot what kind). It was alright. Nice, fancy atmosphere though. For the price I expected better food.

We went out to CA in mid June and the weather was overcast/drizzly, so we had to eat indoors, which was fine with me. The food was delicious, the service was a bit slow, but overall it was a good experience. We did get to be outside for a while and the view is breathtaking. Coming from the east coast it was spectacular to see the west coast and this was certainly a great view.

Nothing to rave about, but a very nice place to have dinner for a special occaision, especially if you can be out on the terrace, or for a nice dinner while on vacation. Sorry, but nothing beats the northeast for its seafood...

Some people say this place is only good for the view, but that's got to be because they haven't had the sole. We love the sole so much and we usually don't rave about fish. It is such a great twist on upscale mexican food. The guacamole is so, so good! Great flavor!!

The 2 times I ate at Las Brisas I was so disappointed that I now will only go this place for drinks. Fish was overcooked, service was kind of pushy. I will say that this is probably THE BEST place to watch fireworks on the 4th of July in all of OC. Their location on cliff that juts out just a bit from the coastline affords you views of the firework shows in San Clemente and (I think) Newport Beach. Not to mention your front row view of Laguna's show.

This restaurant is quite popular however, having had dined here I would suggest NOT eating your meal here. The ocean views are to die for. This is a place to sit, relax and enjoy the views while having a cocktail. The food is not that great and a little pricey for what you get.
OH, and maybe the owners could possibly repair the roof of the building that looks like it's been in a hurricane. Looking from the outside this restaurant does not look the way it should considering the views and prices.

I took an ex-girlfriend here for our 1-year anniversary awhile back and it was phenomenal. The menu consists of a mix between Mexican and Seafood and both are authentically cooked and presented. You should be convinced of my genuineness by the fact that I haven't let my failed relationship ruin this place for me. Go, take a date, take a stroll on the beach, and leave with a great taste.

I would disagree with the previous reviews stating the food was marginal. I ordered the enchiladas (one seafood, one cheese), and both were excellent. The guacamole appetizer was also outstanding. This is not your typical "Mexican" restaurant, but rather this would be considered more of a "Mexican steak and seafood" restaurant with just a couple of your usual Mexican entrees (they serve rolls, rather than the usual tortilla chips, when you sit down). The view (on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean)alone is worth a visit all by itself. Slightly priceier than you would expect.

My wife loves this place. We've been quite often to their overprized Sunday Brunch. They have a nice view of the ocean if you get a window seat which we have never been able to do it. They do not take reservations for brunch so it always suck to be there waiting for a table. The brunch menu is like a "comida corrida", you get a choice of soup or salad, a choice of main dish (of 2), a choice of side (of 2), and that is it. The portions are small. The champange keeps flowing. The service is good. The atmosfere is just OK if you do not get a window.

PROS: Nice view if you get a window
CONS: pricey, no reservations, you will never get a window, small portions

every time i've been to Las Brisas I have not been impressed. I have never been for breakfast, which i have heard is great, but i have been for a sunset cocktail and it just isn't all that grand. The appetizers suck and the drinks are spendy. I'm not too sure about the singles scene either...i have yet to see a hoppin party that i have to run home, get dolled up and run back for....

A $4.00 ice tea (no refills)!!! It was a bit crazy and the food wasn't anything to write home about. I do admit the view is great but otherwise a BIG disappointment!

i have to say i only really go to las brisas for their breakfast buffet. that and the view are, in my opinion, the two best things about this restaurant. lunch and dinner are alright...but i've had better sea food/mexican food. but their breakfast is just great!!!! too bad it's always way too crowded. good value though. not pricey at all for its location. got good service also.

I have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed. Sunday brunch is such a great value. It is a four course sit down brunch for a great price. Great food and great environment.

Go for the view and service. Both top rate. Take a friend and impress them with the ocean views atop the bluff overlooking the Pacific. Stroll along the paths after a comfortable dinner. Meals ware well prepared but the fine quality does not match the high price. However, I was not upset over cost after the first class attention we got from our servers. Parking along PCH is very difficult and valet is almost always necessary. Reservations are a must but expect to wait a short while. I have never been impressed with the results of the bar so we drink someplace else.

Pros: Impressive, Views

Cons: , Location, Price

Las Brisas has a couple of great things going for it: The bar and the location. If your looking to go somewhere to have some drinks, appetizers, and sit outside overlooking the water, this is the place for you. But if your looking for a nice, sit down dinner in the dining room, I think it is just okay. The entree items are a little bland and over priced, and the dining room atmosphere is a bit boring unless you get a window seat.

I was highly dissappointed in Las Brisas-
It took our server 15 minutes just to acknowledge us and then another 15 minutes just to get our drinks. All we ordered was an appetizer, which was average. If you dont care about service and dont mind average/below average food and drinks then you would probably like this place-it's got a beautiful view.

Breakfast at Las Brisas is truly a wonderful experience both for the palate and the eyes. Monday through Saturday a breakfast buffet is offered which includes a made to order omlette bar plus several other mouth watering choices. The view and location can't be beat and all at a very reasonable price!

Have enjoyed dining at Las Brisas on several occasions. Highly recommend their black bean soup which is offered with a variety of additions to suit your personal perferences. The outdoor patio area is lively on summer nights.

As to a classification of it being a waterfront restaurant... yes, it is very close to the ocean but there are restaurants in Laguna Beach that have better views and whooshing sounds of waves on the beach.

Pros: Near ocean, Near ocean promenade

Although we went there for dinner and it was already dark the view of the lit up hills was very nice during our after dinner walk (There's a park next to the resturant). We had reservations for 6:30 and got there at 6 and had no problem getting a table right away. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was great: I had the La Asada (maybe a little more peppery than I'd like but still very good) and my date had the Pollo Manzana (very tasty). Next time I'll go during the day light hours for a better view of the ocean.

We were seated promptly and our waitress was very knowledgeable and thorough, and never negligent. The only negative aspect of the experience was that we were served our dinner before we were finished with our entrees- a big no no in my book. The guacamole's presentation as well as taste are worth the ordering. The mango salsa absolutely makes the sea bass ceviche. The award-winning black bean soup is just that, but the real winner was the halibut special. Lightly brushed with pesto, the perfectly cooked and fabulously flakey fish looked like two biscuits atop a bed of jalapeno mashed potatoes (to die for) and surrounded in a brandy lobster bisque sauce accompanied by snap peas, asparagus, and two prawns. Absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price. I will be returning to try more of the fantastically paired dishes created by the brilliant chef.

Pros: outsanding service, delicious, unique food pairings

This place is great! I've heard that the service is slow, but this was not the case for us at all. Showed up fifteen minutes early for our reservation and were seated promptly, even with the request of a window table. Aside from the generally high noise level from the other patrons, the ambience was great (and you can't beat the great location). The food was some of the best that I have ever had -- go with the chef special!

You can't beat the view or the location. The outdoor bar/patio is a great hang-out place. In the dining room, order the calamari entree -- you'll love it! Sunday brunch is also excellent and very reasonably priced. It's a four-course meal and includes champagne and coffee or tea with your dessert. Service can be a bit slow, but the waiters don't rush you through your meal. We spent a good 2-1/2 hours at our table over brunch. There can be a longer than expected wait for reservations, but the food and ambiance make up for the extra time.
