Good food and elegance at a reasonable price. Down the street from old town Pasadena it has an armorer that exceeds the best of the best. Outstanding in Every respect.

This place is always packed. It's a fun place for friends, and trying different dishes. The food is tasty across the board, and you can't go wrong! The decor is modern and fun. I like how they try to make the Thai food more upscale while maintaining the authentic flavors.

I went here on a date a couple of years ago and recently with friends for a birthday., and both times were good experiences. If you are there as a couple then get about two dishes and split because the portions are pretty big. I recommend the chicken noodles those are my favorite and also they had a special pineapple rice that was very tasty. They also have a lot of spicy dishes and interesting dishes. Be careful of the rotating center that the food is on it knocked my water in my lap. The service is good and you get your food fast. The prices are not bad either between 8-18 depending on the dish.

i went here last night for my 22ed birthday. we had a party of 9 people and it was easy to make reservations for this size group. they put us at a circular table which i thought was really nice because you could see everyone. we got calamari and dumplings as appetizers. they were really good. we all split a ton of different dishes. they were all really good. i loved the pad Thai and chicken noodles. we had pineapple fried rice which was fantastic. the yellow curry was not that good, but i am not really a fan of curry anyway. we had a beef dish that came with spinach or something in a cashew, peanut sauce. it was really good. i had just ordered a bunch of food for everyone and i was taking the waitresses recommendations which turned out to be ALMOST entirely good. except when she asked me if i liked fish. i do, so i said yes. she said i should get the catfish i said ok yeah fine whatever... no not fine. when it came out it was a whole fish with a fin and its mouth open and everything. it actually didn't taste bad at all, but it was weird to have that staring at you all of dinner. all the food was on a lazy susan so everyone kept turning it around and it was unnerving when the fish was staring at you. it made for a good story though. overall the food was great and it is offered at a very reasonable price ($8-17)great place for groups

The pinapple shrimp curry is so delicious, i could drink it. The trendy, industrial looking dining areas is very full on weekends. A casual place for dine-in or take-out.

I've been a loyal customer since Saladang opened. Although, the servers have changed, their inexpensive prices and commitment to customers has not. Their food items are fairly priced and consistently good.
It can be difficult to get a table during peak hours, however, it is worth the wait. Be warned, the noise level is not conducive for business meetings.
PROS: Excellent Service, Great Meals, Decent Parking
CONS: Crowded during peak hours

Best Thai restaurant ever
by Rebecca S.
Exquisitely prepared and presented food in a beautiful, high-tech room. Only problem is that they don't take reservations (except for groups) - go early or late.

Great Thai food for great prices-- Each dish costs around $5-8 and comes in pretty good sized portions. Our favorite things there are the "Chicken Noodles" and their veggie dishes -- a nice space that can hold family-style parties of about 8-10 people. I like this place better than Saladang Song, the one next door. It may not be as authentic as Song, but I just like the dishes here more. It's more crowded, and the ambience is not as nice as Song's (it's still nice), but the food is great. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, make sure you get a reservation.

BEST THAI FOOD IN PASADENA
by Adrian M.
Can't beat Saladang for excellent Thai food. Be prepared to wait on weekends for a table unless you arrive early. It is hip and very popular. The noise level can be high, so it's not conducive for romantic evenings.

My favorite Thai restaurant. Everything I eat here is good. Great Pad Thai. My favorite dish is the green curry. the meat can be a little sketchy sometimes (don't know which parts they use) so I take the safe route and have them load it with vegetables. The atmosphere here is great, too. Highly recommended.

The finest (and least expensive) Thai cooking I've every had with the best service of any restaurant of any kind.
Saladang in Pasadena on South Fair Oaks in the 300 block. This menu has all of the traditional dishes but they're created with an innovative
freshness. You have to have the Pad Thai and Dried Chilies with chicken and cashews. Have a lime with honey drink to drive away the thirst. If they have the special shrimp on skewers ... this is great. And they have some of the most fun and tasteyappetisers around.
