Best lanes in Northern Sacramento area. Best prices in Northern Sacramento area. The ProShop manager is a holy roller and doesn't know how to speak to everyone.. But shoe guy: you may be right because I wasn't there on this occasion, but many bowlers own bowling shoes that look like DC's or Nikes.
Bottom line: good family entertainment, and good youth/ young adult "safe fun".
Call ahead cause they have leagues in the evening.

I am Muslim and got into an argument with the pro shop owner. He is a holy roller soul winner. I just went in to look at the bowling balls and barely got of there with wits. Please keep your beliefs to yourself.

I didn't want to bring the issue of race in here, but I believe this place is run by discrimination. I won't disclose what my race is, but I will say that I'm not white. I've bowled here before, maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I had a good experience. In fact, I had a wonderful experience. I recommended this place to many of my family and friends. However, I recently didn't have the best time here. First, as I approached the chubby cashier, he sounded like he didn't want my family to be there. He said, "I wouldn't bowl here if I were you." When I heard that I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he may have meant something else. Therefore, I decided to rent some shoes and bowl here, while putting what he said aside. While my family were happily bowling the night away, some of the employees there had quietly gathered around to look at us bowl. My family and I wondered why they were hovering over us while we bowled. As it turned out, the cashier came up to us and said that we needed bowling shoes in order to bowl. Okay, yes, my brother didn't have bowling shoes on because he took it off after each bowl and simply forgot to put it on. But that wasn't the point. The point was that there was a white family right next to us who bowled without any shoes! I even have pictures to prove it. And on top of that, the cashier didn't even tell them to put their shoes on. He walked pass them and just smiled. From that moment on, we felt we were constantly being discriminated against. I'm not done just yet. As we continue to finish our bowl, one of the employee(who appeared to be in janitor clothing) came up to us and said that one of the adult had used a child-size bowling ball. We know the rule, and it wasn't one of the adult; it was my little baby sister. It was her birthday so she wanted to bowl for my brother's turn. At this point, I have had enough. We came into this place in a happy mood and left with a furious grin. I'm never going there again. I highly recommend this place to you if you're white. And go ahead, don't waste your money on "required" shoes. You can bowl without them. But if you're a different race, please get the shoes and get ready for the attention because you'll be getting plenty of it.

It's easy to get a lane most days and the service is good (not great) the prices are decent. The lanes are ok, but when it comes to league bowling, the are lacking.

I was coming over there to play, for years now.
I am not a regular, but once or twice a year we come over to have some fun. Bringing our families and kids too.
Everything was real good and nice until...
Last night we (two families with two kids) came over...
There was a guy there at the cashier's place (Floyd). Big temper. Obnoxious. Behaves, like he rules the place, or something. Got into an argument with us on something right away.
People person.
Ok. I thought, we just pay and go play. Don't have to talk to him again. Went to pick up shoes. He (The Floyd) got his frustration (about something?) into him real good. He slammed our shoes off the counter. (While looking what the effect of his actions it is going to bring).
Ok. Again. Pay and play...
We had a small kid with us, too small to throw balls, who needed this support frame, they would normally offer and bring over, to roll balls from. The other guy (father of that kid) went to ask (The Floyd) for the frame. It never came. The guy went over there again (10 - 15 minutes passed). There was other guy there who just gave it to us right away. At the same time, that Floyd was coming by. I called him to ask why nobody brought it. And He, JUST IGNORED ME GOING HIS WAY!
That was a little too much.
I went to the other guy at the cashier's place and asked for the manager to talk to. None of the managers were there, but I've been given a name and the phone number.
Called to speak to Lynn, the manager. (I never complain about anything, but when kids get involved, it is easy to get frustrated.)
Anyway, I called and told her that her employee's behaves obnoxiously and that I don't want her to do anything, but I think, she should know about this. And that was all I said.
And she says: "Where did you get my number?"
And that was all she wanted to know...
Ok.
I finished conversation and went my way.
We've played for another 10 minutes and decided to leave after one game (pre-ordered two)
While getting our money back for the second game, those guys turned off our unfinished game (all scores were lost)
Then they turned it back on again... (time was going...)
We started from the beginning, played for another 10 minutes.
And. Screen went blank!
"The Floyd" was back at the controls at this point.
We started getting our things together to leave the place.
Then some other guy came along and saying - "We had to move you to another line, because there is a league that will play here now!"
"This is unbelievable!" I said to him. And we left.
Fun, evening, gathering with old friends was shot.
With all the "thanks" for that going to "The Floyd" at this point.
If you go there and would need to deal with him, I recommend, you don't expect much from him, and try to stay on his easy side.
He WILL spoil your time there!

This is an older bowling alley so it doesn't necessarily look that great but it is the only place in town that still has "cheap nights". It is in a great location (easily accessible) and there is plenty of parking available. I would recommend this bowling alley above all others in the Sacramento area - mostly due to the low cost.

The prices are very good here! Just call ahead to make sure that there's not league bowling or a hour wait. This place gets pretty popular. I've been here with friends, family, and even on dates.
PROS: Low prices
CONS: Gets crowded

This bowling lane isnt as large as Country Club Lanes but the prices are better. You can bowl a game at Crestview for $1.50. They have an arcade which is also on a smaller scale but your kids can still have fun. On Fridays and Saturday nights they stay open till 3:00 a.m. Plenty of free parking.

Crestview is the place to go to bowl. It opens late on Fridays and Saturdays; 8am to 3am. The lanes are professional style. Crestview is great for amateurs or professionals. If you have kids, you can put the gutter bars up and have fun. Compete with your friends to see who is better. Crestview also has a arcade. The best part of Crestview is the price. No where can beat this price of $1.50 a game. Stop reading and go there now.

We love to go here for a night of family bowling. There are days when they have special pricing, so be sure to look out for that.
My kids love the little arcade area. There is a lot of parking spaces available.
The bathrooms could be kept a little cleaner.
