GREAT Book Store

by Anonymous

its a used book store in the middle of the city. We love to spend hours in the store. They exchange our old books for cash or for store credit. You can use the store credit to buy more books. How awesome is that!! Staff is always curteous and helpful. AND they are open till midnight on the weekends.

large used book store

by Patricia W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,430

While this is not the largest used book store I have ever seen, it is certainly the largest I have seen in the area. The selection of books is large and the store is well organized. They have used music CD's as well, and great prices on current and past year wall calendars. Some new books are available.

PROS: selection and price

fun used and new bookstore

by Heather C. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 758

Bring your used books here and get cash or credit for buying more books. They only take books at certain times and it can take a while to get them to analyze your stash, but once you get it done, you've got the credit and you can buy all you want. They have a pretty good selection. It's fun to browse here.

Lots of selection

by priya v. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,266

We have been trading our old books for a money account at this store for a while. You can buy books with the money you have in your account. So, you are not really spening anything out of your pocket. Their collction of books in every category is extensive. The kids section is really very very extensive. Their collection of DVD's and Videos is also very good. It 's to be able to own a movie without burning a hole in your pocket. They have a lots of the classics too.

PROS: Large store, lots of books

Awesome used book store

by Shivakumar J. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,843

I trade my old books here and buy books here. Since the books are used the prices are usually comparable to online bookstores., with the added advantage that you can feel and browse through the book before you buy it. Great collection of computer books, books on spirituality, eastern meditation techniques etc. The kids section is great too. Highly recommended. This place has some 'great bookstore ambience' if you know what I mean.

Great place for Calendars and Books

by Priti S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,165

It's a huge bookshop with books in all categories u can think of. besides this they also sell expensive calendars for half price or less 1-2 months after New Years. I generally buy those since the pictures are great for framing...and i would still have 10 months of the calendar that i can use. I think it's a great bargain. they also have older calendars and books on sale for very low prices. If u r a collector u must visit this place.

Great selection of used books

by Anonymous

Bookbuyers is located in the heart of downtown Mountain View. It's easy to find and there is plenty of parking. The store is large but still easy to navigate. You'll find new bargain books as well as used books for sale here. A great place for a quick browse. My boys always see it as a treasure hunt of sorts. Definitely a fun and family friendly place to shop.

Books to the ceiling

by Anonymous

Bookbuyers is conveniently located in Mountain Views downtown. Upon entering the store, I wasnt quite sure how to start browsing, because the books stacks literally reach the ceiling. Thankfully, the books are meticulously well organized by genre and author. However, if you intend on digging through the stacks in this bookstore, I would recommend having an idea of what you want beforehand otherwise youre going to hurt your neck straining to see the top shelf.

Shopping without money is fun!

by Lanajean V. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,803

Bookbuyers is a very unique experience! You can trade your old books for credit there, and usually I shop without spending any money because I get a credit for my old books to spend instead. Buying days are most every Friday and Saturday, and they are open pretty late on the weekends for general browsing. They also sell music, everything from vinyl to CDs.

PROS: big store, great selection of both new and used items and music.
CONS: some items can not be purchased on your trade credit

Cheap Second hand books

by Regina N. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,141

This place has a good selection of cheap second hand books. They even buy your books back for a small chunk of change. The cookbooks here are great and so are the employees. Parking on Castro street can be crowded so prepare wait and get lucky for a parking spot.
