This is a nice little italian restaurant in old town pasadena. Decent priced lunch menu, great calzones and the pizza is excellent! They take pre-orders and I believe they even deliver.

The kitchen is my favorite place to eat lunch in Old Town. They have great lunch specials and really good pizza. All their pasta dishes are tasty as well. I also really enjoy the house salad. The lettuce is always fresh and they make their own vinaigrette.

The Kitchen is located on Union, just off the beaten path of Old Town. It's got fantastic food and a cute atmosphere. Red checked table cloths and great pasta make this a must if you are craving Italian. Prices are reasonable for their dishes. The baked ziti, Chicken Parm, and spinach manacotti are fabulous! MMMMMM!

Great pizza. This is a great place to go if you're craving pizza, and you're in Old Town. The wait staff is courteous, and the food always fresh. The ambiance is nice too. I've never had a bad experience at the Kitchen.

In most towns this would be a great addition. However, in Pasadena where great restaurants are the norm, this one falls below the mark. Compared to the nearby competition neither their food nor their prices are all that great. It certainly is satisfactory but its a stretch to say it is any better than that.

Love the Italian sub. Service can be slow when they're busy, but the staff is friendly and it's worth the wait.

Ordered the Sicilian Pizza (pepperoni, canadian bacon, jalape?os, onion), it was delicious.

Decor inside was nice but cramped towards the section leading to the bathroom. The food took an exceptional amount of time to arrive (more than 30 minutes). To make matters worse, the server, while not rude, was extremely slow. Lastly, the temperature inside made it feel as if I was a pizza cooking in the oven.

Despite the lack of cool air and tardy service I would still recommend the pizza...if you have an abundance of time.

just an fyi: restaurant does not serve ranch or ketchup

We have gone to eat here on several occasions and the service has always been terrible. The service is slow the orders are messed up. I am not one complain too much but when management is rude and unhelpful it is hard not to. Please save yourself and DO NOT EAT here ever. There are much better options in the area

When I moved to LA from Chicago I went through pizza withdrawals. I tried soooo many places, but everything was average, at best. I really don't understand why everyone likes Abbott's. It tastes like mall pizza to me. Anyway...

My favorite pizza in the world is Giordano's thin crust with pepperoni and sausage. I ate the deep dish occasionally, but I preferred the thin crust. With that said, The Kitchen has amazing deep dish pizza. I couldn't get enough once I tried it. The pepperoni has a lot of flavor and the sausage is amazing. Of course, the cheese is piled high too. Not only is the pizza good, but the restaurant itself has great atmosphere and it's good for people watching. It's one of my favorites in the LA area, along with Paoli's (deep dish) in Woodland Hills and D'Amores (thin crust) in Canoga Park.

I paid a visit to this place on my lunch break and ordered a slice of mushroom and a slice of pepperoni pizza -- very good.

The slices are only $2 each (cheese only). A quarter for each additional topping.

The service is friendly and honest (I asked the owner if he preferred New York style or Sicilian, he said New York).

I'll probably be coming back here again to try one of the calzones.

Pros: Tasty Pizza, Value, Service

Not pretentious, not too busy; both things that are hard to find in Old Town. This has great food; the Chicken Parmesean is very good, Garlic Bread was only so-so. I haven't tried the Pizza yet but definitely will after reading all the raves here.

I travel all over the country and the service at The Kitchen is as good if not better than the kind of service you get in the midwest...and the food is even better than the service! We got the Brushetta as an appetizer, it was excellent! I got the penne pomodoro and my associated got the roasted chicken, both were perfect! The potatoes on the side of the chicken were to die for and unfortunately we were too full for dessert. I hope to return to Pasadena soon so I can enjoy the atmosphere and especially the food at The Kitchen!

While wandering around Old Town Pasadena in search of a place to eat, we happened upon The Kitchen. We're very happy we did. The service was quick. Our waitress was amazingly attentive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. She was quite impressive, actually. We'll definitely be going back sometime soon!

Been there about half a dozen times, usually after visiting the Norton Simon. Never had indifferent food or service. Most likely eat there next time we're in Pasadena.

You must dine here. I'ts one of the most comfortable places in Old Town. Just off Colorado, The Kitchen is well placed on the corner of DeLacy and Union. All of the items on the menu are wonderful but its the pizza that keeps you coming back. The pizza crust is made daily and has a hint of sugar. Perfect! If you decide on the Chicago style do not try and reheat in your toaster oven. It's got to be 3 or 4 inches tall. I almost bunt down my kitchen. Great Atmosphere. You and your friends will be comfortable or bring a date for an intimate dinner.

I've been going to Old Town Pasadena for years and have always eaten at the more obvious restaurants on Colorado Blvd. Then one day my mother and I decided to have lunch at The Kitchen after viewing their menu posted outside. We couldn't have made a better choice. Their thin crust pizzas and salads are amazing! We ended up buying a bottle of their salad dressing. For dessert, you must try their spumoni...outstanding!! The Kitchen is one of Old Town's best kept secret!

I really love this place. I've been more than once, and that says a lot. As a successful restaurant reviewer, I don't often get to go back to places, but whenever I'm in Pasadena, I go to the Kitchen. The pizza is brilliant. If you like thin crust, the Kitchen is for you. Great toppings, good salads, good wine, and the service is excellent. The waitresses are engaging, and everyone seems happy to have you there. Even me, a woman of large size. Bottom line: when it comes to Pizza in Pasadena, there is only one choice - The Kitchen.

Good fare. Good prices. Good place to eat. And, during the week, when you don't want to go out they bring it to you.

All the proper pizza and pasta fixings, and a couple of extra goodies as well. I really like the thin crust as its thin but not crispy. Very fresh toppings. All tasty goodness.

I finally found a great pizza restaurant in Pasadena... I am so pleased. You can get the standard toppings or choose their homemade meatballs or a basil topping. Feel like thin crust New York style? How about Sicilian style? Maybe you're in the mood for thick crust Chicago style? This place has got it all... and it tastes good too! Half a pan will feed two... I got the full pan and ate pizza for three days.

Had late lunch there one Sunday and had a great meal. Though there was only 1 waitress at that time, she made up for it by bringing our food within a reasonable amount of time and without sacrificing the quality. Prices are very reasonable too!

Here's why I like The Kitchen. One night some months ago, four of us had reservations at a tonier Old Town Italian restaurant. We waited quite a while for our table. When we got our table, we waited even longer for drinks. Then we waited longer to order. By the time our food never arrived, we were out of there and straight to the Kitchen. We told our waitress that we were fugitives from another restaurant and desperately hungry. She brought out a slew of appetizers immediately and we regained enough of our wits to order a great meal of pizza and pasta. The Kitchen is always a sure bet.
