I have been a participant of VHMA since the 1970s. VHMA saved my life in early 1991 when I was diagnosed with a deathly blood infection. I spent 22 days at Verdugo Hills Hospital. VHMA doctors visited and monitored my well being on a daily basis, especially with Drs. Foullon and Pita + others. In their absence, there was always someone available to assist to answering questions/concerns. I only use VHMA urgent care these days only of an emergency basis. The wait can be lengthy but if I want to get well, I will wait. At times, there appears to be alot of staff at the urgent care and when seen, it is usually a PA. I am grateful that a "real" doctor is on staff to assist the PA when needed. Thank goodness for Dr. Cooper if he is still around although he may not remember me. VHMA will always be one of my resources. If I need to visit VHMA, I make sure that I arrive "early" to avoid the crowd or wait towards the end of the day. I must have to say that Dr. Mark Hoffman is my primary nowadays but will continue to utilize VHMA when necessary.

They have a good referral system , you don't have to wait to long to see an specialist. I had used their urgent care maybe on a busy day , like a flu season, the wait can be long but at least I am glad they are open so in case you can't wait to see your Dr , then they can see you .

We brought my daughter here for Urgent Care one weekend. We were there about 5 hours waiting to see the doctor (if we had known we would have gone to the emergency room!) I wish we would have called ahead for an appointment, it might have helped.
But I did want to mention Mark A. Hoffman who was the bright spot of our visit. We liked him so much we wanted him for our primary care physician. Alas, he was out of network. I would highly recommend him.

PROS: Mark A. Hoffman, professional and courteous
CONS: Long, long wait for urigent care
