I've used the watch repair service at the San Antonio Shopping Center Sears to replace watch batteries and to repair several watches I own. The rates are very reasonable and they have always done a good job.
For simple repairs they do the job while I wait. Parking is easy too.

As a student of business, I've always appreciated the success of Sear's "softer side" marketing campaign.

As a manly man, however, I've felt a little betrayed that my local outlet for Craftsman tools, lawnmowers, and other man paraphernalia had also become a place where (gasp) my wife could find dust ruffles and a "cute little pink dress" for my infant daughter.

I'm happy to report that last weekend, my faith was restored. I had decided to introduce my son to the joy of camping and, like all good manly hobbies, this was going to require a whole bunch of gadgets, gizmos, and equipment. Hoping the "softer side" hadn't replaced the outdoorsman section of the store with flatware or perfume, I decided to head to Sears.

I was delighted to find a great selection of affordable, high-quality, and rather manly camping gear. For a couple hundred dollars we bought a 4 man tent (in the off chance I may one day convince my wife and daughter to join us on an outdoor adventure) and two sleeping bags.

After a successful trial run in the back yard last weekend, we'll be headed back to Sear's soon to round out our gear with propane canisters, metal plates and utensils, a swiss army knife, and a coal-miner-style flashlight you wear on your head. Stick that in your softer side.
