Phoenix Bakery Inc

Phoenix Bakery has been around forever! I remember my parents getting my birthday cakes from them and now I'm ordering cakes for my children. The best cake is their sponge cake with fresh strawberries and fresh whipped cream topping. Its always so fresh, moist, light and delicious. I love it !

Love this bakery, especially their egg tarts and really fresh fruit tarts. It's a family owned business located in Chinatown. Has a nice selection of Chinese buns, cakes and pastries and nothing ever taste like it's been sitting out for awhile. They are famous for the strawberry cream cake but I've never tried it myself (not really into cream filled desserts). Still, there are lots of other cakes to choose from that always satisfy my sweet tooth.

My family has been getting cakes from the Phoenix Bakery ever since I can remember.... They are amazing... a wonderful yellow cake that is stuffed with fresh whipped cream and FRESH strawberries.... The entire cake is covered with fresh whipped cream and FRESH strawberries... The sides are covered with slivered roasted almonds.... This is a cake of cakes and they are well known for them... Practically everyone I think knows of this Bakery...

First off, the lines move pretty fast, so if you see it crowded (very common), don't freak out. The parking can be challenging, but don't be afraid to park down the road a piece to find a spot (overshoot the locale north). The cakes and cookies are divine. It is famously known for its white cake with whipped cream frosting, whose filing is a mix of halved strawberries and whipped cream. Just heavenly. Once you try this delicacy, you'll reject all other b-day cakes as wannabes. They have varying sizes, even miniatures of this gem, so you can get what you want. They can even personalize them and they make other designs, with a bit of advance notice they pretty much accomodate you. Very affordable too.

PROS: outstanding cake with whip cream frosting and fresh strawberry/whipp cream filling; good selection of other Chinese cookies and pasteries; good prices
CONS: parking is practically non-existant, so park farther north on the street and walk back over to the bakery
