This use to be a real gem, but has gone done a bit in quality. It's a real small place in a strip mall. Way too much cabbage, and not enough other veggies. It's kinda over price for what you get. Meat is all cut up sometimes. and I

Pros: near my house

Cons: parking, service, ambience, food

This tiny place in a tiny strip mall at the corner of Olympic and Barrington is a well kept secret. If you're into shabu shabu on the westside and don't want to deal with the waits on Sawtelle, try this place. The ingredients are just as good and swishing your food around in their delicious broth is just as fun. They have a good selection of sake as well. And it's less expensive than some of the more trendier places on Sawtelle !!

My wife and I have been going here for many years since it opened. It has changed ownership a few times, and the newest and best owner is a wonderful fellow named Taka. He is usually there (except fridays) and will do anything he can to

Shabu hachi is a small but cozy place. It is absolutely delicious!\r
The service is wonderful too. All of the waiters are smiling and make you \r
laugh. It was a little hard to understand some of their accents but that did not\r
matter

I've been to other shabu shabu places and I have to say that this one had to be one of the worst ones. Small portions through out. I was hoping for better quality meats for the prices they charge. I was very disappointed in the veggie

This is our regular shabu-shabu place. The parking situation is a little tough but we always find parking at the meters across the street and it doesn't put us out to simply cross the street. We love the Salmon Carpaccio and the "lean

This is my favorite little spot to share with friends. The food is always super fresh and the service can't be beat. The upgrades they have made to the resturant over the past year is welcomed. The best improvement was management. If

I've enjoyed shabu-shabu at many places from here to Tokyo. Some good, some well, not so good. This little neighborhood spot is one of the best ever. The traditional shabu-shabu boiling water and as an added attraction, you can choose two
