Highly Recommended

by Linh H. | insider Insider | Rank: 26,889

A restaurant growing in popularity and population, Lee's Sandwiches provides the ethnic response to chains such as Mcdonald's and Burger King. The food is not only prepared fresh but also tastes fresh.

With an extensive menu, Lee's proves that it isn't a one note show. While famous for its banh mi and baguettes, Lee's also provides fresh pasteries in the function of a bakery, refreshing drinks in lieu of your Starbucks or boba shop and deli delicious sandwiches that could eventually defunct your Subways. All of which are found at prices more than reasonable.

While this location is none too crowded, others might be, particularly the older (and more established) ones.

Overall, Lee's is highly recommended for the uninitiated native or curious tourist.

Good deal

by Karen D. | insider Insider | Rank: 25,549

This is a busy restaurant with good deals like buy two get one free sandwiches. Most of the food are freshly made after you order. The only thing I don't like about this place is that if you order their ice coffee, you'll find that it is 30% coffee and 70% ice cubes.

Forget the Sandwiches the Bread is Additictive

by Liz C.

I've been going to Lees for four years. My friends keept asking, "When are going to bring me some of that Vietnamese French Bread?"

Even my Italian friends love it.

The bread is what makes this place special.

It doesn't keep long so freeze it.

PROS: Price, taste,
CONS: Parking, locations too far to go more often.

Poorly managed

by Michelle M. | insider Insider | Rank: 25,564

This is a Chinese-run store operating under a franchise license of a Vietnamese-owned company based in San Jose. The local management has practically destroyed the company's positive image with is sub-standard customer service and inconsistent food quality. Don't expect the usual and minimum courtesy you normally would expect from a fast food joint like Burger King. The only thing that seems to be consistent at this store is rudeness. I am not sure if it's a cultural thing or just these people.

PROS: Some menu items are acceptable, tastety, and reasonably inexpensive
CONS: Bad customer service, food quality is inconsistent

Great Sandwiches

by kim u. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,112

I fell in love with Lee's baguettes since the first time i've tried it. Their bread are always made fresh, so it's always warm. These remarkable sandwiches are so inexpensive and affordable. It's awesome. The ice coffee is really good except i think they give too little. They only fill half the cup with coffee and the rest are crushed ice. I recommend getting the pork roll with pate, grilled chicken, and of course the special. They're coconut waffles are off the hook too! Be sure to eat it while it's warm.

PROS: Delicious, cheap sandwiches
CONS: too little coffee in a oh so big cup.

BEST VIETNAMESE SANDWICHES IN THE WORLD!!

by Patrick K. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,480

Lee's is a classic place to get GREAT vietnamese style sandwiches. They always make their own bread (baguettes) everyday and serve all their sandwiches on that fresh bread. I recommend ordereing the pork sandwich. It is FANTASTIC!! The best part is, it is INCREDIBLY cheap!! A big 12 inch sandwich will only set you back......around 2 dollars!! It is definitely the best deal in town!

quick, cheap, low fat food

by Linda C. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,002

Famous to the vietnamese communities and to students who like vietnamese sandwiches. Open 24 hours in most locations. You haven't eaten at Lee Sandwiches until you've tried the sandwich. Take your pick, skinny baget or fat baget and with everything in side "dac biet" or with bbq chicken or pork.

You get what you pay for

by Edward W.

Pretty good restuarant for the price you pay for. The food is good, mainly sandwiches made with bahn mi bread. What is really worth trying at this restuarant are the Vietnamese coffees, its a blast of sugar and flavor.

They deserve 5 stars for their plain (very French) baguettes alone! BUT the real stars of this chain are their Vietnamese pork sandwiches (I highly recommend their grilled pork and their Chinese BBQ pork), each costs only $1.75. Service is the MOST efficient I've ever seen, assembly line quick and yet very friendly. Their smoothies are a great (if high-caloric) accompaniment. The aroma from the hotcake booth are seductive but it's all about the SANDWICHES.
