I took my daughter into Smile Care in Citrus heights for an ortho consult. Unlike all the other complaints we were taken back on time, our appt was at 10:00 and we went back at 10:05 which is very reasonable. The orthodontist was very nice and really listened to our concerns. We don't have ortho insurance, which caused the office to go over and above what was expected to work out a reasonable price and a payment plan that fit our budget! Over all our experience was great, and will refer friens to the office.

I was referred to SmileCare to get my WisdomTeeth pulled. My appointment was at 11, so i got there at 10:50. Took me about half an hour to fill out 10 pages of forms. I then waited 2 HOURS before someone called me back. They then placed me in a room that was dirty on the floor and walls. They made me sit there for half an hour. I was then placed in an X-Ray room, waited 10 minutes. Had it done, and then they told me to leave and find my room again. (there's about 20 rooms in there). A few people came in to ask me questions. Questions that I already answered on the Paperwork, and they asked me the same questions more than twice. Two people came in and did this, asking the same numerous questions. They then changed me to the room where I would have my operation, which was actually clean. I was sitting there for 45 MINUTES. They stuck an IV in me, left the syringe laying out on the table, and then 45 minutes later I was passed out. I never met my doctor. I was there for a total of 6 hours, when they said I would be there for 3. Never go there.

My appt was scheduled for 1:00, but I was called and asked if I could come in at 12, so I did. I did paperwork for about 5 minutes and then sat in the waiting room until 12:40, then was brought back into the x-ray room and waited for another 10 min. I marked on my medical sheet that I am allergic to latex, but apparently no one looked at it since I had to tell everyone that worked on me. The doctor consulted me and told me I have 6 cavities that need to be filled (I have only had 2 in my whole life and I was fine 9 months ago at my last cleaning) and then I was cleaned by a tech. I heard the doctor tell her prior to coming in the room not to use latex, but after she did 'probing' she left the room and then came back and asked if I was allergic to latex and what it does to me. When I told her it just made me really itchy she laughed and said 'oh because I just used it'!!! Many people who have latex allergies can die from something like that!!! She then spent about 3 minutes doing the actual cleaning and then showed me a bloody peice of cotton and said 'look how dirty your gums were!' before sending me on my way. As another person noted, the room was dirty and the counter was covered with some kind of liquid, I am assuming water but not really sure. I WOULD RATHER LET STUDENTS WORK ON MY TEETH THAN GO BACK HERE.

Appointment was at 2pm, I arrived at 1:40pm to fill out paperwork, as requested. Paperwork done in 10 mintes, turned in, waited....and waited... and waited. Finally around 2:20pm, I was told it would be another 5 minutes until I could be seen, yet someone that came in after me, went before I did. Finally 2:35 comes, I'm taken for x-rays, and 15 minutes later placed in a dirty room with some sort of liquid on the floor and counter top, where I wait another 15 minutes to be told my x-ray needed to be redone by a more experienced x-ray tech. Placed back in room at 3:10, where I wait until 3:30 when I've finally had enough. I get up, go to the front office to advise I'm leaving, as they have wasted enough of my time, at which point they pomptly "find" an available dentist to see me. After the exam and cleaning by the dentist and oral tech, both of whom English is apparently a second language (which I have no problem with, as long as I can understand SOME of what is being said), I finally got done and left.... at 4:30pm, almost 3 HOURS after I got there. I have never had this problem w/ other dentist offices, normally in and out w/i 45 minutes for an exam and cleaning. Never going back, will never recommend. Only good thing about the place was the front office staff, very pleasant. Advising my employer to find a better dental group for it's employees.

This review if for Smile Care Dental Group as a whole, and NOT a particular dentist practicing there. They charged us for services not rendered and tried to get us to pay for unnecessary services at prices that are three times that of three other dentists I have checked with in our area. To make matters much worse, they credited our payment to the wrong account and after 6 months of trying to clear the matter up and sending copies of the payment, they sent us to collections! Luckily, they finally got it right, but they cost our family too much money and time!
