I had a facial with Ming today. I'm feeling great. Recommendation: Make an appointment before you go. I had to wait 15mins today, no biggie but appointments usually mean you don't have to wait.

Definitely recommended to all my friends and family. Jeannie gives one of the best facials I've ever had. 6 Stars if I could.

Salon Sajjcol is simply the best in Monterey Park when it comes to hair. Did I say Monterey Park? Maybe the entire San Gabriel Valley! Ask for Lawrence to cut your hair and Hidy to shampoo.

I sometimes get my haircut here. Since my hair is prickly, hard, and very dense, it is hard to find a person who can cut and style my hair right. Alex, one of the hairstylist, does my hair perfectly. Trims it down and gives it a spiky, electric look! Kind of expensive but I love it!

This happened about 6 years ago but it still makes my blood curdle in frustration and irritation. Cynthia was great initially she cut my hair short and colored it and I was getting compliments left and right about the look. When I was in the process of growing it out, she strongly recommended that I get a perm- she showed me the pic of a model in one of their hair catalogues and because I trusted her with my hair and she had done a good job before, I followed suit. The result was a disaster! My hair lost its luster and shine- it was a nightmare- it seemed like I was walking around with a permed wig !!!! She was unapologetic and did not even commiserate with me! I had to walk around with my hair up in a ponytail for a couple of months and that was such a blow to my self esteem!!! Never again did I come back after that.

As a mother, I usually do not feel pretty or really have time to clean up, but when I do get the chance to, I go directly to Salon Sajjcol and get a facial from Michelle. She is absolutely amazing. Great prices in my opinion, great service, and after the facial, I feel so refreshed after. If I could, I would go here all the time, but unfortunately I do not really have much time. I do recommend them to every one of my friends and they all have had positive feedback about this place. If ever you get the chance to go. Ask for Michelle. She is very polite and knows exactly what she is doing.

The overall rating of the salon is 5 stars. The lady who washes your hair really gives you a good head massage which makes the experience enjoyable and relaxing. The hairstylist to choose is definitely SAM LAU. I have searched and switched from several hair salons for some one can handle my hair. Sam gives a really nice cut which gives your hair more volume without the need to perm it to give it the extra boost. He is very candid and only suggest what is best for his clients. He will not sell you on something that will not look good on you. Since going to him, I have received several complements from strangers and colleagues alike. One common compliment from friends is that my hair no longer have that heavy look.

I had long gorgeous thick hair almost to my waist when I came in, and a short thinned out ratty looking mess when I left ... crying. I had been growing my hair out for my wedding which is next month!

I asked for an updo, and Cynthia Liu insisted that I needed my hair cut and thinned. Even after I showed her several pictures and told her that I wanted to wear it down if the updo didn't work, she "trimmed" my hair and what I thought would be long layers) went all the way up to my neck. I can barely tie it in a decent ponytail. The ends stick straight out. I even found one section today that was 4 inches from the top of my head. She obviously screwed up badly. If I let her continue, she would've left me with a mullet!

What REALLY makes me angry is that the whole time, she assured me that it was long in the back and to not worry ... I actually trusted her. When I looked at the back of my hair I was HORRIFIED! Then she had the nerve to try to defend herself by saying she wanted to give me a new look! and that she "had to" because I had way too much hair. She was putting the blame on ME and getting frustrated because I didn't like the cut SHE chose for me. She said that I was just used to the conservative "American salons". (Well, at least they understand English there!) Then, after chopping off all my hair, she couldn't even put it in a decent updo! She actually said, "Look it's still a such a big mess!" My hands started shaking and I wanted to die! My vision started to blur from anger. She chopped off all my hair for no reason! Now, I can't style it up or down. It's a cheap looking cut, the worst I've EVER gotten. I can't believe I trusted her with my hair. It'll take me at least a year ... maybe two to grow it out again. She actually insisted that my hair grows quickly. That's funny, I can't remember the last time she watched MY HAIR GROW! IDIOT!!!

To add MORE insult to injury, she gave me her card and made me pay for the worst haircut and service ever! She obviously makes a living giving people the cut she wants to give them and not what they ask for. Don't come here unless you're looking for the opposite of what you want. I came in for a reasonably priced updo for long hair, and left with a fat bill for a short hair cut at an expensive salon that I should've gone to in the first place. This place is not worth it, please boycott this place and Cynthia Liu for being an overconfident know-nothing butcher who doesn't listen to customers.

I've been going to Michelle for my facials since I was 26. I am now in my 40's and I am still a client. I get compliments often from patients and friends who think I have great skin. Little do they know that I have very dry skin. My skin always feels fabulous after my facials. With the dry skin, premature wrinkling is a worry. So far, I adon't have this problem.

When I was in my residency, I had referred many of my peers to Michelle. One of my good friends had horrible acne. After 8 weeks of treatment, I think she had treatments every 2 weeks, her acne cleared up. FYI, most treatments for acne can stirred up the acne and exacerbate (worsen) the condition. Since she was not a teen when she had the acne, I am sure that it was the treatment that helped her and not that she outgrew it. She is still a client of Michelle's, and her skin looks great.

I read the previous reviews about the price, the facials are much less expensive than what I had to pay for the Ritz, Amadeus and other places that I have thrown parties for friends and staff. I use to pay about $45 to $50 for my facials, but now I pay $65-$75 ( depending on the volume discount that I prepay) due to the collagen treatment. Unlike the Ritz or the Amadeus, Michelle contours my eyebrows with threading and removes excess facial hair along my temples and along my jawline jaw even though I am now that hairy. The comedone extraction can be painful so brace yourself. Lastly, the firm massage to the face is the best that I have experienced, but it might be too firm for some. It took me a bit to get use to her strokes.

If you decide to go for the facials, allow for lots of time. The facial alone can take more than 1-1/2 hours. You can also have your eyelashes permed at about $25. I had tattooed eyeliners years ago due to my sensitivity to excess tearing from eyeliners, they are still great after 7 years (This was very painful even with topical anesthetic that she used so think twice before you do it). You can also request to have a manicure and pedicure, and now Michelle even has a massage therapist that gives almost a total body massage for about $40 or $45. She just told me about a cellulite treatment. Hm... I 'm a skeptic and believe that weight loss is most effective from diet and exercise, I will most likely not try it.

Unlike the traditional spa facials, Michelle does not massage the neck or arms, and paraffin for the hands are not an option with the facial. The place is not able to accommodate more than 5 clients for facials at a time, therefore parties are out. For the purpose of keeping your skin looking younger and healthier and feeling that you have gotten a great cleaning and moisturizing treatment, I think this is the best place in town.

My only complaint is that the facial takes a bit long, but if you can spare the time, it's worth it. About the hair salon, I had my hair done there, they are okay when it comes to price. The amazing thing is the scalp massage when you have your hair wash. I tried the stylist a few times years ago, the cuts are too trendy and they used a blade to trim the bottom, and I absolutely hated this. I'm too conservative for the trendy style so I stopped going there. After reading the reviews, I might just try them again. I just remember that this salon is pretty good about sticking to the price on the list - unlike my last stylist in Touca Lake who charged me different prices on a whim each time that I was there.

I hope you will enjoy your experience and will not be in a rush. Ask for Michelle, she is the owner, and she is the best. Have fun and stay looking youthful.

i've been coming here for facial for years. it's a very popular place among the chinese people in LA. the facials were somewhat expensive but well worth it. but put aside 2 hours cuz that's how long they spend on you. you feel really CLEAN when you're done. although i do caution those who has low tolerance for pain. one of the treatments they use to clean blackheads can be very painful if you're not used to it. made me tear the first day. but hey, no pain no gain

I can go on and on about how great this salon is. I was a walk in about a year ago since then Sajjcol is the only salon where I go to get a cut. I also get facials and messages at the salon. The staff are always polite and attentive and most of all Cynthia my stylist is very detailed with her cuts that I always come out of there happy!!!!

Want to try another hair stylist other than the one you currently go to? You can try out this place in Monterey Park. It may be a bit pricey for a girls haircut, around thirty to fifty dollars, but I think it is worth it if you want something good. They have other services like hair coloring, perm, straightening your hair, and also pedicure and medicure.

I decided to get a haircut here about 3 years ago because my sister wanted to get a haircut here. Ever since then, I've always gone to Sajjcol! The hairstylists take their time on you, so they dont' rush through each customer so that they can squeeze in more appointments (I hate that!). They give great head massages with every hair wash and even the receptionist is nice! Drinks are also available too! If you want a haircut with a relaxing spa experience, go to Sajjcol!

PROS: Great all around
CONS: none

I went there for the first time to get a trim and a hair oil treatment for my dry and over-processed hair. The receptionist was warm and showed me to the lady who was going to wash my hair. The lady while washing my hair, gave me an awesome scalp massage! Then she asked me if I wanted some tea because she heard that my throat was dry! She gave me a great glass of hot lemon honey tea that was brewed to perfection. My hairstylist, Jimmy, also was very nice and gave me a great haircut! Definitely going back!

My wife has really dry hair due to excessive coloring and strengthening and she went into the Salon Sajjcol to get a haircut and hot oil treatment. Haircuts range from $40 to $50 and hot oil treatments are also $40 and $50 depending on what solutions you request. My wife had the most relaxing hot oil treatment ever! Helen, the lady that washed her hair, gave my wife a nice scalp massage at the end of the treatment. Also, my wife had a cold and Helen was sweet enough to make her a cup of hot lemon tea to soothe her throat! Jimmy, the hairstylist, was detailed and professional. My wife walked out of there in total bliss.
