Gee, there r soo many changes after a year eating out here. ( i did gave 4 star to this place a year ago) but now i cant even hardly give 1 star BECAUSE :
1-They keep hiring staff who can`t even speak english (so hard and waste a time when i go or order by phone)
2-The Food quality is going BAD (even the people who sit next to me complain to the server about SOME foods,so thats mean its not just my tounge)
3-The price is now going up so MUCH and at the same time the quality n service is going down so MUCH too.
4-Do not eat here unless you want to spend ur $$$ for something not fresh, frozen, bad quality and no taste foods!
I wont come back here to eat and i believe with this kind of bad reviews IN and OUTSIDE the internet, soon this place will be just a bad dine out history of pasadena.

Wow! Seriously delicious, not kidding. Everything was perfect and we loved how the restaurant incorporated it's location in the menu. The Pasadena rolls are great! Sushi was fresh and the California rolls were amazing. The service was friendly and pleasant.

The tempura vegetables were a bit greasy and the sorry salad was not necessary. I also don't think that french fries should be on the menu.

We with my wife have been customers of the above named establishment for over 5 years. Although the overall level of service kept declining over the last 2-3 years we decided to give them yet another chance as the quality of food used to be OK. (Although has never been good value for money.)
This time we were unable to get a glass of water each (got one glass only), took 3 attempts to get a menu (one for two of us), got whatever we never ordered 2 times (!!!), and NEVER got what we actually ordered. Even worse, our server refused to take orders from the menu saying that whatever we selected was either not available or available for only twice (!!!) the price shown on the menu.
We tried to talk to a manager who hardly speaks English. (Part of the problem must have been the same with the server.) When we decided to leave and give up they made us pay for a $10.95 +tax item we actually never received.

Sushi of Naples may not be Nobu, but it is a great casual place for lunch or a quick dinner. The sushi is fresh, no frills and tasty and the staff is exceptionally nice. I have been going there for several years and everyone welcomes me by name.

After walking by for almost a year, I finally bit the bullet and tried out Sushi of Naples. It was crowded, but we were able to find seats at the sushi bar. The fish was good quality, and the chef was friendly and prompt. It was a positive experience, until we got the bill - $90 for 6 rolls and 2 pieces of sushi is a lot, especially for lunch for 3 people. I'd go again - as soon as my bank account recovers.

I recently ate here with my vegetarian husband for a pre-movies dinner
( it is conveniently walking distance from the Laemmle movie theater on colorado). I ordered a spicy tuna roll and yellowtail which were so-so, not the tastiest or freshest ever, but OK. Nevertheless, my husband was very pleased with his vegetarian sushi combo, and the service and atmosphere was OK,so I give this place 3 stars. If you are a sushi addict like me, this place is nothing special, but it is conveniently located next to the playhouse district of Pasadena.

On a Sunday night, two of us were seated as soon as we arrived. The ordered drinks came promptly. Our waiter took longer to come back to take our food order. It took 25 minutes for our food to come. It tasted ordinary/average. We were only checked once if we still have drinks within the hour. In other words, we were waiting for our server to come back to get our refills. We asked for our check as soon as we were done. 10 minutes later, it still did not come. we waited for another 10 minutes and it did not come. Our waiter was nowhere to be found. We decided to get up and just go to the cashier to pay for it ourselves. The cashier had to ask a ridiculous question like what table number where we. Of course we replied that we didn't know and juts pointed out where we were seated. She rings up the bill and hands it over. Our waiter sees us and just says sorry and thanks for coming - NO SINCERITY!!! What a way to treat their customers.

WE went around 2:00pm, the sushi chef was very friendly, knowledgable and skilled. The fish is very fresh, and they do make a great sashimi. The chef will recommend you the speical of the day, which is the freshest stuff you can get of the day. The chef will also accomended your like, so feel free to communicate your idea with them. The yellowtail belly and toro was excellent. And the salmon with twisted fusion was great too. Habachi special, orange clam and Uni was ok. They are very generous on giving the portion too, they gave us extras sashimi for lots of the order we did. Their fresh made unagi was wonderful! Big eye tuna and tamago was very nice too! Overall, their quality is very good - compare to so many sushi restaurant that I have been too! (competable with Matsuhisa!!!)

I booked a reservation for 20 for dinner at this place because it was one of my favorite restaurants. The waiter did everything in his power to ignore us! When we go the bill and he added an additional 20% for tip. I asked the owner to remove the 20 and make it 10% for his way less than average service. So she did. The waiter then marched up to the table and demanded his 20% and made such a scene it embarrassed everyone at our table and a few generous soles in our party paid him. I have never had such bad service and rude treatment in my life. They will NEVER NEVER NEVER get another penny from me as long as they live. Zono Sushi down the street is just as good and has great service. Sianiara Sushi of Naples!

They have pretty good sushi here -- Their combination meals are ok. I ordered a combo with tempura (which didn't have the perfect light batter, it was a bit hard and crunchy) and it was average. Luckily we ordered some sushi and rolls, or I wouldn't have been satisfied. I'd say come here only for the sushi, as the fish was pretty fresh and tasty.

I like Japanese food but not too much of the Sashimi fan. However, I must say that I find Sushi of Naples' Sashimi really good; I don't eat other restaurants' Sashimi but them. Trust me, I try!!! It is practically melt in your mouth. I don't think it is pricey compared to the quality of food you get. If price is your concern, try the sushi bar. They have 1/2 off sushi at Sushi bar (selected items). The lunch or dinner combo are good. I LOVE their Udon, especially in Winter mouths.

Very disappointing sushi. Did not float my boat at all - my husband and I are serious sushi eaters and this place was recommended by an old friend who hadn't been there in about a year. The overpriced (at $10.50 per order) "deluxe" california roll was tasteless. The overrated "dynamite" was anything but that. You can get better "dynamite" at Noshi Sushi on Beverly. Overall, the sushi we had was uninspired and mediocre (ranging from the tuna roll, yellowtail belly, halibut and albacore). Want some friendly advice? Go somewhere else. (Hope the management reads this and improves the quality of their food.)

I love the sushi here (try the Albacore Dream Roll!) but the service is terrible. We called one night and they said they were open until 10, but didn't tell us that the sushi bar closed earlier than the restaurant. They reluctantly seated us five minutes before the sushi bar closed, then demanded we order all our sushi up front (we like to order a few at a time and then a second and possibly third round). Other times we've been there we haven't had the best experiences with the staff, but the sushi chefs are great. - LAG

I eat here quite often with my girlfriend because of it's convenient location but more importantly it's delicious food and great prices. We usually get one of their dinner combos which includes an entree (ie. fish, chicken, etc), salad, miso soup, a few pieces of sushi, pickled cucumber and a few pieces of tempura. The entree is only about $11-14 each. So a dinner for 2 is easily under $30. Not to mention the entress themselves are quite large and filing. The variety of items and tastes each entree offers is also nice.

My biggest gripe would definitely be the lack of parking the restaurant gives it's customers, the lot next to the restaurant only holds maybe 8 or so cars.

Overall, a great choice for a tasty and simple dinner.

Great sushi at reasonable prices. The vegetarian selection is small but excellent. The dining environment is nice and quiet - good for conversation. The sushi chefs yell when drinking but it is not loud and offensive at all

Secret: you can even get french fries here, and they are quite good!

PROS: Good food, good for conversation
CONS: Hard to find non-valet parking

I've been enjoying meals at Sushi of Naples since 1995, when a friend first took me to the Naples location near her home in Belmont Heights. I, however, live near Pasadena and this location is one of my top choices for a weekly dinner out. It's also a place where I can enjoy excellent sushi without the pretension found at other sush bars. My boyfriend who won't eat anything raw enjoys the different cooked entrees and appetizers. They have great lunch deals and even if you order it as take-out they package everything well and in an easy to carry bundle. The waitstaff is always attentive and friendly.

I've never just eaten sushi here. I've gotten the combo meals where you get some sushi; some cooked foods. I recall my meals being well under $15 and having WAY too much food. The sushi was good as was the salad, soup, rice and terriyaki and tempura. My husband doesn't like sushi but he enjoys the cooked goodies.

I can't rate this place on sushi since I like my food cooked but they put out some good lunch choices at a reasonable price. I like the Tempura & Chicken Teriyaki and my favrorite is the Salmon Teriyaki.

There is always too much food and I take a "doggy bag" back to my desk. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.

I have been to Sushi of Naples many many times, and the food is consistantly good, however, the service is getting worse each time I go back. Last time I went with my family, everyone was served their dinner except me. they did not bring my dish out until 15 minutes later. Keep up the good work on the food, but if I was the owner, I would put more of an emphasis on the dining patron and their staff's service.

So, you say you love sushi, and you're in the Pasadena area? Then you should check out Sushi of Naples. Their sushi is really good, and their lunch specials are even better, they'll run you about $5-$7. You can definitely order to go as well. Lunch on Fridays can get a little crowded. Dinners are a bit more expensive, running anywhere from $11-$15, but the dinners are huge, enough to take home for later. Their lunch and dinner combos make this place well worth driving for. Also, nice for a first date. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. If you have a large group of 10 or more, I would recommend making a reservation.

.

The lunches here are inexpensive and good if not terrific. The California roll comes with mashed potatoes and soup or cucumber salad. I also get a side of steamed vegetables. It takes about ten minutes, and they also make lunch to go. If you stay, try the hot edamame.

Great lunch specials. The Tiger roll is fantastic. The sushi is good and fresh. The tempura is too greasy, but that's the only complaint I have with this restaurant.

The lunch specials here rock. Not the best sushi ever, but good for the price. Love the Tiger Roll lunch special.

Stick with the sushi lunch special, usually a California roll and a few slices of cooked fish (the blackened salmon is fabulous). Also included is miso soup, a bowl of rice and fresh fruit like pineapple or melon. Price is about $8, and you'll always leave full. Request a booth instead of a table, which are placed too close together for private conversation.

Sometimes this place is just bad. Sometimes great though--they do a teriyaki salmon special occasionally that's real tasty, and the sushi is great as often as it is not-so-great (though not well-presented). Overall, the food is more heavier in the tummy than it should be for Japanese cuisine. And what's up with the cold mashed potato with corn in it on the side of combo dishes? But it's pretty great value, just don't go with someone who minds McSushi.
