I very very rarely can't find some movie that I read about, or heard about from some obsure source. They've got it. They always have biscuits for your doggie. To boot, Jello Biafra can be seen walking about, before checking out "Flashdance". Don't go in expecting a corporate, nationwide selection of general titles you could find at any chain store across the country (though there's some of these in the "new releases" section).

Located on Valencia street this store remains my favorite video rental spot in the mission. The selection is pretty good. I enjoy the fact they have a section organized by director. They still stock a large number of VHS titles, although the DVD selection is coming along nicely too. However, it is a little too busy, often times I find what I'm looking for is out. Perhaps they should stock more of title in high demand.
PROS: Good Selection. For film buffs.
CONS: too crowded.

This place has a decent selection of videos to choose from and are often in stock. Right in the core of the Mission, they are easy access by foot but good luck trying to find parking.

This is a movie rental shop local. I nice place to go to if you live in the area. They have lots of choices from new releases to short films. Very nice local place to go to on Valencia st.

Competing against pay per view, netflix and big chains ain't easy but the folks who run this store in the Mission District know their customers. Much like the staff of Aquarius Records down the street, these people are well versed in a variety of genres and bring that nerdy coke bottle glasses & pierced lip esthetic into the workplace for all it's perceived added advantage. Literally the clerks have become thier own stereotypes and have been poked fun of in the local weekly papers. But none of that should stop you from enjoying an actually very well run shop that caters to diverse tastes...even to discerning cineastes! For added fun there's an instant photobooth in there, and some dollar rentals. The categories are broken down well and the store even sports a local indie section so you can check out all the neighborhood creative fare, both past and present.
