Tempted to go here based on practice of holisitic medicine? Listen to the controversial reviews! Holistic? Clean? Why then was our dog greeted with an innoculation for kennel cough. We picked up our dog, always a pillar of health, after the holidays and he is "sick as a dog". He has a severe case of kennel cough and his high energy spirit is broken. This is heartbreaking for those of us that love their dogs as children. Please, do not patronize this clinic, and if you were boarding your pets over the holidays - BEWARE THAT THEY WILL BE SICK.

Pros: None

Cons: Inattentive, not truthful, contaminated

My 2 precious Westies came home from boarding with Dr. Pasternak with scabs all over there chest and stomachs and threw up and did not eat for 3 days. When I called to speak to Dr. Pasternak to tell him about both of their conditions, he said "well, they weren't sick when they were here" and he hung up on me. Dr. Pasternak neglected to care for my healthy dogs and was unprofessional and uncaring about it. This kind of treatment is unacceptable.

I now use a private pet sitter and they are returned to me in perfect condition.

Dr.Pasternak is the best vet you will ever have. Most vets rush meds on the animal and you ill end up with a lot of pills. Dr.Pasternak will see what is needed for your pet and what is not and he will does Eastern and Western meds so you ge the best of both types. I say go to him and he will be the last vet you will ever go to.

Dr. Pasternak is amazing! My dog Claire was given 3 days to live by my regular vet, who said he couldn't do anything else for her kidney problems, and i was desperate...that was 5 weeks ago! She is eating well now, and is energetic and happy. He treated her, did acupuncture, put her on raw food and herbs...Dr. Pasternak is the most knowledgeable vet i've encountered in 30 years of dog ownership, I would recommend him to anyone who wants the best for their pet! I am also going to board my animals there, the facilities are extremely clean, well kept, and accomodating. The staff is great, expecially the girls at the front desk. Highly recommended!

Overall a thoughtful vet. If one goes on a bad day they (and their pet) will get the rush treatment. That I didn't like. Particularly because I was there to tend to a sick cat. Rates are not cheap, but not the highest either.

my husband & I wanted a peaceful ending for our 15 year old incredible cat & had arranged for an at home euthanasia but that Dr. couldn't make it in time & needed to rush her to the nearest vet which was Dr. Pasternak. We waited forever as she was dying in front of our eyes even though there was not one client except for us. We had asked him for a moment to say goodbye and became so angered by this did not return for a long while. When he finally arrived he asked abrasively who our usual vet is and said he did not know this animal & will be charging an exam fee. She was clearly dying on her own & needed no exam to realize that! He seriously man handled her by nearly twisting her legs out of the sockets & letting her limbs fall from way up high on to the table exaggeratedly and did the same with her head. We wanted to yell stop, grab her & run but I was at this his mercy & he knew it & I also didn't want to upset my cat. He then proceeds to inject into her heart instead of a vein or putting a line in her to accurately, painlessly & effectively give her peace as were my experiences during the several years i worked for vets as a technician.I asked why &he said because he didn't want to have to try to get a vein. I told him I worked for vets &never saw them do it in the heart with even the largest most aggressive dogs they would still take there time & find a vein. Well, I regrettably let him do it & she really winced from the obvious burning & it took way to long for her to pass. He left the room while she was still breathing & only came back to pick her up & put her in the hefty bag for there freezer never checking her heart to make sure she passed as vets normally do to make sure they were gone & to reassure the owner. He said " go get a new kitten & be sure to come here & get our specialty food from our freezer up front, it'll live longer I'll show you before you leave."The next day we picked her up from there nasty freezer &took her for cremation.NO PEACE!

My dog was misdiagnosed by these guys. I was charged an huge amount of money for something that they should have known was not serious. They did not inform in any way of what the bill would be until I was presented with it and they demanded payment. I walked out thinking that the whole experience was as close to highway robbery as one can find these days.

Pros: none in my experience

Cons: expensive and poor service, incorrect diagnosis

I have been to 3 other vets and Dr. Pasternak was the only one who gave me so much knowledge on how my dog can be treated. He took really good care of my dog. He used Western and Eastern treatment. I changed his diet to a raw diet as he recommended. He stopped scratching and all the bumps and sores are all gone. His fur is looking not so dry anymore. Thank You Dr. Pasternak. I would recommend him to all of my friends.

Cons: Should be more Vet's like him

The office staff was fantastic, and the office is clean and comfortable, but the doctor himself was awful. Didn't say hello, seemed annoyed that my dog was shy (almost afraid of him, really), and kind of rushed through the office visit. Then, upon checking out, he tried to load me up with nearly $200 worth of new food and supplements. I asked one of his friendly office staff if he was always so brusque, and she said this was a "bad day." Unless I'm desparate, I'm not coming back to see what a good day is like.

Great staff, loved the doctor. He was really straightforward and I felt gave appropriate time for my concerns. Highly recommended. Good prices for the quality of care.

If you are looking for a vet who truly cares about each individual animal he works on look no further. The staff at Pasternak are just the same as well. A family operation with a stong lean towards holistic care (which I agree with) Easy to get appt. very reasonable rates as well.
