I ordered 2 hard shell beef taco's and it seemed to be good at the moment. Immediate got sick after and had the stomach flu. It put me out for a week. I wish I hadn't eaten there.

Hey guys and gals! I just had my first Soft taco with flour tortilla, hard taco and cup of rice from here. I'm a native Californian and that makes me qualified to speak for this food! It's great. I've never had rice so good. Comes

Hey - don't be shocked and disappointed that this place in not 'authentic Mexican' and has no 'carne asada!' The name is HENRY'S, not JOSE'S for the love of jalapeno. Love this place for what it is - GRINGO-MEX FAST FOOD. And for what

Yeah, they could add more items to the menu or fancy things up a bit but there is something so deliciously addicting about the food here, why change a thing? I've been eating at Henry's for close to 30 years and it always satisfies. It's the first place I head to when I've been out of town for awhile. Love it!!

Pros: Consistently yummy

I ate there on 12/11/09 and had food poisoning on 12/12/09. I tried calling the phone number (818)769-0343 to see if I was the only one who suffered at 230pm on 12/14/09. The answering machine picked up and told me that it was turned off. Stay away from this place. It is unfortunate because it is really tasty food.

I love this Taco stand, they have great soft tacos and my boys love their burritos. I drive a long way to get Henry's Soft Taco's, and I have talked with other customers that are the same, they also go out of their way for their 'fix' of Henry's Soft Taco's. Gotta check them out!

I have cravings for their soft taco and home made taco sauce. I drive an hour to get my fix. If you haven't been impressed, go back and ask for two soft tacos and some taco sauce. It will be something you haven't tasted before and you will definitely want some more.

these people should go to jail. this is bad mexican. stupid cool sign, makes it look like some great find
what a joke. when i go to a crapper place like this, i want a big fat burrito with a lot of shredded cheddar, great, tasty beans, and some carne asada. this place has none of the above. ground beef only, nasty, dark, thick, spicy refried beans, and a pinch of cheese. boooo!!!

the taco was pretty crappy too, seriously, del taco/taco bell.. much better

I love Mexican food and was excited to try Henry's because it looks like a good hole in the wall authentic mexican food joint. YUCK! The burritos were really small and it truly tasted like your typical frozen burritos from the grocery store. You know that weird taste that generic beans from the can have? Bingo! This was not authentic in the least! After 2 bites my husband and I threw them away and headed for Del Taco as a BETTER alternative!! That should be your clue! NOT GOOD! If you have been going here since you were a kid, one suggestion... get out of studio city more often! Plus, the service was rude, aloof, and annoyed. If you want that great San Diego Alberto's-type experience, styrofoam cups, etc, maybe try Benitos in LA, or drive south.

I know soooo many people who simply rave about this place, but I was not impressed with it. I paid well over 3 dollars for what tasted like a frozen bean burrito. It was really tiny too. This is one of the few places that the Olsen twins eat at, so maybe they like their portion sizes.

Hey again...it's The Taco Inspector back one mo' time for another Taco Tuesday review...this time, Henry's.

I loved Henry's old-school atmosphere, but must admit, I was thrown a curve ball when I discovered gorund meat was the only beef on the menu--yup, no carne asada here. Someone shoulda told me!

That aside, Henry's got a good taco. As ground beet tacos go, these were really good. The hot sauce was good, and the cheese and toppings were ample.

What really makes Henry's is the outdoor setting and the vintage vibe.

We recorded our "Taco Tuesday" meal at Henry's and you can see my VIDEO REVIEW at The Taco Review dot com

Pros: The vintage feel

Cons: No carne asada...school-lunch menu tacos!

My friend and I just ate there for the first time and last time. We always look for good tasting Mexican food places. The portions are Taco Bell size. A Taco is $2.40 and the skimpy burrito was $2.80. I was looking for a grande burrito, but the menu only has beef for meat. No Carnitas, Pollo or Carne Asada. A disappointment. My order was 3 tacos and 1 combo burrito, $10. I would have settled for a $10 burrito that was great. El Tapeyac has that and it's not even $10.

when i want to treat myself to delicious greasy food, i go to henry's. perhaps some of it's charm comes from the fact that i've been going to henry's since i was a kid, but still - this stuff is good. don't go to henry's with some notion you're going to get gourmet mexican food in a hip atmosphere, you'll just let yourself down. go to henry's with a friend, order some tacos and some beans and rice, sit at the wooden table, carve your names into the table, and just hang out.

Pros: food, casual, price

Cons: standing in line

I love Henry's Tacos more than any other mexican food, hands down -- and I love Mexican food. It's the sauce I think. It isn't a fancy mexican restaurant, but I'd choose Henry's over Casa Vega (my favorite sit-down mexican food) most any day. I just returned home from 12 days in Tuscany, and the first thing I want to eat today is Henry's Tacos. That's why I'm writing a review here, because I needed to see what time they open!

Pros: My favorite Mexican food!

Don't believe the hype. This is over-priced Taco Bell. I could never understand why people think this place is so great.

Heard a lot about Henry's Tacos and finally tried them... In the end, not so good. Not terrible and not a bad value, but nothing better than anything you can get at Taco Bell. In fact, if I had a choice, I'd take Taco Bell over Henry's Tacos any day. (Or even Del Taco for that matter.) Sad, but true...

Henry's tacos, while talked about often, are generally overrated. An overpriced taco bell crunchy taco. Definitely not worth the cash, and the hassle.

The bean burritos are the best around and the tacos were great when I used to eat meat. The lettuce and real cheddar cheese taste fresher than most. American customers are not a problem. Now if there were only American employees, I would start eating there again. Americans who smile and say hi and aren't uptight with a look on their faces as if they're about to perform brain surgery when you place your order. Who would say "yes, you can substitute beans for meat since you're a regular customer, are pleasant and tip well." Rather than the brainless, sheep robots who work there now and would never deviate from what's on the menu. Back in the good ol' days Americans even used to wait on us and were friendly and didn't screw up our orders, but if they did (which was rare), they would apologize. A restaurant with American customers can only be a positive thing. Now if there were only Americans behind the counter at Henry's.

I'm sorry, I know there are many fans out there, but I didn't like their Taco one bit... I grew up eating real Tacos in Mexico city and I couldn't enjoy these totally inauthentic tacos. The meat tasted like chili meat from a can and the cheese and lettuce tasted like they came right out of a plastic bag. They even have Taco Burgers! Just remember... the ratio of hispanic customers is the sign to tell how authentic the Taco is!!

There is much better Mexican food nearby. Just go South down Tujunga and turn left on Ventura Blvd. You will soon see "Tortas Mexico" on the right. Good place!

I had heard from various sources that Henry's Tacos was one of those places you just have to try. I finally decided to check it out.

I cannot understand why some rave about it. There aren't many choices on the menu. I could live with that if what they had was great. They were over-priced for what you get. Basically a boring taco with ok ground meat in it. Nothing outstanding in my opinion at all.

PROS: ???
CONS: Overpriced, limited menu, boring food and limited parking.

If you've never had Henry's taco's then you are missing a staple of the Valley - very few options on the menu - but really you come here for the tacos and maybe a chalupa - you eat at picnic tables out front or take your bag of goodies home with you. I know many a person who lives on the west side and drives over the hill just to get one of Henry's tacos!

PROS: great tacos
CONS: not much parking

As shminkis once said Henry's tacos is a great place to eat at, i full heartidly agree on that statement. They make great home made chilly which is to die for, and excellent combo burritos. As i wait in line i can only imgaine the wonderful aste of that burrito. This place is no TACO BELL! Shminkis and i come here a lot of the time after school, because this is the only place where we can get our minds off the books. Might I add, they have excellent porsche ice!

I have lived in Studio City for almost five years and have just warmed up to Henry's. A friend swore up and down that it was the best, but after eating TITO's TACOS on the West side for years, it was tough to switch. Good tacos and taco sauce have made me a partial convert, but my heart will always be with TITO's.
