Love the fact that it is more convenient to my house than the other location but it seems that this store is not as well-stocked and organized than the other location. But it is definitely a place to go for anything Filipino in nature. I just wish the dessert selection was wider.

if you're looking for anything to do with filipino food(snacks) or cuisine, this is the place to be. In the back is a plethora of seafood, particularly fish, ready to be gutted and fried for you! if that isnt your thing and you're there for ingredients you can find things from ox tails to fresh longaniza and even pan de sal! on the snacks side you find chippy and chicharon, even cornick! So if this is what you seek, you found the place and dont worry about the price, these snacks are very low cost as well as ingredients for dishes

You can find everythng you need to cook filipino food. They have spices, sauces, snack foods, vegetable, meat, fish and more. They have a great variety of seafood and will clean and fry fish for you.

I dont find the fish very fresh...remember fresh fish smells like the ocean not some dead rotting animal. Push on the flesh-it should bounces back. Look at the gills -they should be bright red, as the fish decomposes the gills get darker. the eyes should be bright abd clear-any cloudyness is decomposition.
I have tried several different fish and have not been too happy with any. The fish counter service is a little werid and crazy... I asked to have a fish filleted-they refused(?). I bought a whole salmon and asked to have it gutted and scaled-they incorrectly cut it up into steaks...since then I dont let them touch the fish...pretty scary to have to take that attitude in a fish store. Im in south bay, but I burn the gas and go to point loma, PB or Kearny Mesa (99R)

It's a seafood place so you expect to walk into a room of bad fishy odor. However, that doesn't bother me because I love seafood. The store is really small but they usually have lots on stock so you can find what you need.

When you walk into this place you can tell its definitely a fish market. The fish smell is a bit overwhelming, but hey, if you need some fish at reasonable prices this is the place to go. It is also one of the few asian markets I've been able to find in and around san diego. It isn't the cleanest, but it does carry those asian items I seek to buy from time to time.

If you can hang the word "cheap" to it, any noun will do for this place. Cheap smell? Got it--fishy to the core. Cheap produce? Got it as well, although the layout turns things into a constant bumping of bodies.

But the heart of this store is the cheap fish. It's Asian style--not for the squeamish. Pick your fish, have it cleaned for you, and take home a good deal.

Whenever I'm in the area, I stop by. It's the best place I've found to get reasonably priced seafood.

PROS: cheap seafood
CONS: pretty much everything else

The whole store seems to smell like fish but they have a good selection of all sorts of common and rare seafood stuff. The staff cleans them for you and they do it well. They have a good produce section as well with a selection you wont find at your typical grocery store. Shop there for seafood and rare produce, not your regular milk and eggs cause theyre slightly more expensive there than in other stores.
