I used to come to Terried ALL THE TIME when I was an undergrad. The yakitori is awesome, prices are good, beer flowing through your meal, and the other menu options are good too. I like that they have typical Japanese izakaya cuisine.

This place is a bit small and the customers are packed in; definitely don't go with a large group.

I tried the Yakitori dinner and it was reaonable at $9; you get 5 randomly selected yakitori skewers along with miso soup, salad, and rice. And you can also have the cold tofu as a side for $2. Yum!

Terrible service and surly waiters. If you're a couple it doesn't matter how long you wait for a table. If a party of four or more shows up, they will seat them before you. The food is good and if you don't mind waiting for what seems an eternity, you should enjoy your meal.

for my bf's birthday saturday night, we gathered 12 of our friends for dinner. we made a reservation for 7 PM. when we got there, we were told they mistakenly gave away our table. we didn't sit down til almost 8 PM!!! half of us ordered combo plates and the rest of us ordered tapas. for some reason, we got all of our little dishes first and were about done eating before the combo plates even came. and our sushi and sashimi orders were all wrong. it was all very frustrating. we understood that we were a big party and that it was a saturday night, but the service was still way too slow. and the food was alright, nothing too stellar. thank goodness they didn't add the automatic gratuity for big parties! they were kind enough to eventually bring out the cake i brought with the candles already lit, though. and about twenty minutes after we were finished, the check finally came. all in all, a frustrating experience. we won't go again.

I typically think it's a waste to go for Japanese and not eat mounds of sushi. Terried has made me open my eyes. A total hole in the wall (which I love) this place churns out some of the tastiest treats this side of the Pacific. Nothing is better than picking out a bunch of dishes and sharing them (some of my favs are the baby squid, yakisoba, sauteed spinach, chicken livers if they have them...too many greats to list here). AND the sushi is great (the albacore is TO DIE FOR). Don't judge this place by it's looks, it may not be the fanciest restaurant on the West side, but it is one of the best.

I love this place! Its such a hole in a wall, bbut the sushi is fresh and great, and a good value too. The non-sushi items are really unique and tasty, and the beer and sake is pretty cheap too. THis is a no frills place, but you totally get high quality sushi for a low price. The only con is that they are closed at random times and they dont have specific hours neccesarily - they'll close randomly if they dont have enough customers.

The food is great. Light and tasty, The Sushi is very good. The tofu steak with eggs is great, especially with a little added red pepper. The fried Baby Squid is so yummy, yakitori sticks are good, and the Yakisoba (fried noodles) are very tasty. Better than that, usually no wait, cozy, community seating, good service and very inexpensive for Japanese food.

The foods served here are close to traditional izakaya style, but also have dinner combinations to appeal to the not-so-adventurous people. The tofu-steak with eggs could have a bit more flavor, but the hokke and yakitori were really tasty. We went there on a friday night around 7pm, but we were able to get seated within 15 minutes. I probably will go back to taste other dishes.

This place has great yakitori. The gizzards and hearts are my favorite and they are a great value. Many of the dishes are tapas style. The squid is also a good dish. The sushi is decent here but I would go here for the other food. A good place to drink beer and sake. They have a yakitori/sushi bar you can sit as well. A good place to get together with 8 friends or less. They have a nice variety of both standard dishes and some adventurous ones as well. The places is pretty small so there is usually a wait, parking sucks but this is LA. Still, this place is one of the top places I will take out of towners.

I've been going there for two decades. I'm still searching for another Japanese restaurant that can compare. I've been all over New York City and even Hawaii, but nothing compares (food-wise). The sauteed baby squid steak is my favorite. The grilled hoke is excellent. Then add some grilled corn on the cobb. Who knew! You'll see the regulars every week. Even if you've got a commute to get there--it's closer than Japan!

Great yakitori house. Lots of variety. Good place for sushi too. I'd recommend trying the tofu steak with egg - one of their more popular dishes.

everything here is very tasty. the yakitori skewers in particular are cheap & delicious. my favorites are the sauteed baby squid & the tofu steak with egg. sushi is fresh & good, the beer & sake prices are reasonable, and it's a very friendly joint, if a little bit hole-in-the-wall-ish. one of my favorite places in west LA.

The best place to go when you want to try a little of everything...and even be a little daring. Everyone's friendly here, and it's fun to chat with the others at the bar to see what they're trying.

Sushi's really good. Value is excellent.
