I wouldn't trust my skin to anyone else.

I have been going to Tessa Darbonne for waxing and skin treatments since I moved to Hollywood two years ago. I am so lucky I found her. She is so pleasant to be around and is a true professional. Her work on my legs, eyebrows, etc. has always been stellar but I was convinced she was an absolute master at her trade when I saw her during the 9 months of my pregnancy. During my third trimester when I was unable to lay on my back for long periods of time, she literally got down on her hands and knees to finish the job while I stood in the middle of her cozy day spa.
Tessa is someone who truly enjoys what she does and it shows. She has always been flexible and accommodating with appointment times and her prices are very reasonable for her high quality work. Once you see her, you'll never want to go to anyone else!
Pros: high quality work, pleasant atmosphere, good prices, easy to park
Cons: not always open on Sundays

A highly refreshing change in LA
by nobodywalksinla
I've been going to Tessa for awhile now and I love her. You know how when you go and get a facial you don't always feel like they are really doing anything. NOT the case with Tessa. She only uses really high end organic products, which makes me feel better than a bunch of chemicals being slathered on my face. If you need a serious resurfacing you should try the green peel series, also all natural! I've done the green peel and am super happy. I didn't actually NEED a resurfacing but it has still done wonders. My tone has totally evened out, which I LOVE and the small amount of scarring from chicken pox and acne I had has also softened. Her place is in Hollywoodland....that's right, in that super cute area at the top of Beachwood Canyon.

A truly European spa experience
by artistix
From the moment I entered this intimate and inviting spa, I felt transported! The soothing and beautifully sophisticated interior, detailed with fleur de lis accents, at once reminded me of the South of France. As I was ushered into a treatment room by the very skilled and attentive Marie Sherwood, I felt instantly at ease. Marie gave me a Soothing Herbal Wrap followed by a make-up application which both relaxed me and got me ready for the rest of my day. I look forward to my next visit and trying the many other treatments at this magical day spa.

The Enchanted Day Spa
by awol100
You know how people who have had near-death experiences describe opening their eyes to a bright white light, and a feeling of utter serenity and peace? I'm not kidding - that was how I felt when I opened my eyes after my first facial with Tessa. Maybe it was the white of blankets and robes, or the sunshine painted walls, or the skylight above me...it was a heavenly moment, girls (and guys!)
I've actually known Tessa for years - I primarily went to her for waxing when she worked on Larchmont Blvd., and I happily followed her to her beautiful, magical, new location nestled in the foothills of Beachwood Canyon. The whole experience is such a treat - LA is so crazy, that when you drive north on Beachwood, walk up the stairs to her quaint day spa, and settle into the warm, golden sitting area, you're already transporting yourself to a place of calm bliss. Tessa's touch is swift but gentle (with the waxing), her facials are assured, instinctive, and expert. My girlfriends have been going to her even longer, swear by her, and the Green Peel (and these are girls I would trust with my life, not just my face!). Oh - and I got a little bonus of a foot masage from the reflexologist...exquisite.
Tessa offers personal, expert attention and service/ Now that I'm in my 30's I take great comfort that she is here to help me establish healthy, organic regimens to hang onto what I got ;-) And have I mentioned the setting and facility is divine? Go now!
Pros: Location, service, experience, ambiance, professionalism

I've been seeing Tessa for about six years. She has a wide range of services, never pushes anything on you that you don't want, uses wonderful, high quality products and is an amazing, interesting, soulful person. I followed her from her previous location and I would follow her again! I've always felt that she cares about the whole person and has real pride in what she does. This is the kind of person that you want in your corner. I couldn't recommend Tessa and her intimate, cozy, European parlor/spa more.
Pros: Convenient parking, non-pretentious atmosphere, good value, great company
Cons: there's only one of her

Best skin care, organic and pure products. Jane Iredale make up.
by cheesecake1
Thanks to Tessa my 70 year old skin passes for 40, no joke. Before becoming a client of Tessa's, I tried many other skin treatments and practitioners. For the past 6 years I have seen only Tessa because she is the most careful, attentive, skillful esthetician I have come across. DR SOPHIE OTIS
Pros: Professional but not 'snooty', weekend hours
Cons: street parking, stairs

The best kept secret in skincare
by StephanieHagen
People are always asking me what I do for my skin. I tell them I go to Tessa Darbonne. Someone I trust told me about her a few years ago and now I have told my friends and they have told their friends. We all do her green peel and I suspect that soon it will be as popular in LA as it is in Europe for firming and retexturizing the skin. She uses only organic botanicals and with her healing hands she designes your facial to your particular needs each time. I have been to a few high profile people for facials and I believe Tessa is a real find.

Pros: Organic products and extremely knowlegable in the business of healthy skin care

A great treat
by GretchenOliver
I have been going to Tessa for years, and she is the absolute BEST. I live on the Westside and travel to Hollywood just to see her. Even with the traffic, she is well worth the drive. I have had facials at other places, and they all pale in comparison. You feel so great afterwards, and your skin is radiant. Tessa uses wonderful European products that are amazing. Some of them are available for purchase but unlike at so many other places, Tessa never pushes the products. The Green Peels are a great boost and they totally transform your skin. I have never seen a product like it especially considering its all natural. Tessa is a charming, smart and interesting woman who teaches me something new each time I see her. Not only does my skin look better when I leave, but my whole outlook is brightened.

It doesn't get better than this
by TinaJB1
I've been seeing Tessa for several years, first going to her when she was located on Larchmont Blvd. and then following her to the "new" location. She absolutely a delight! Seeing her every few weeks is something I really look forward to, not only to schmooze with her, but her work is FANTASTIC! My daughter now goes with me and both of us are getting work done. I've had many compliments as a result of Tessa's efforts. The prices are right, she's a doll and you look wonderful after having visited her. If there can be such a thing as better than the best, she's it!!
